what if say a 4/4 creature with trample and deathtouch was blocked by say a 5/5 creature.
In the other video it says deathtouch ignores the rules for assigning damage -- and you only have to deal leather damage to a creature for trample to go though so could you assign 1 dmg to the 5/5 and it be killed with deathtouch and the other 4 go to the player?
an example would be Wren's Run Vanquisher that had a +1/+1 counter from a bamblewood pargon being block by a 5/5 with no ability
I think its good that WotC tries to make tutorial videos, but the ones made by FFG for their own games are sooooo much better. (watch?v=xsyEYk3SPsQ). WotC, you need to do something like this.
a long time ago you can find them really easily, but about everyone that had one would fold it under because most of the time the other player had one as well.
So now you see mostly one player mats. But they usually have cool pics on them that makes up for a plain green mat
im having trouble understanding him, so if i deal 2 damage to the lion and i have 2 damage left i can deal 2 damage to either the lion or the player? wouldnt the lion be dead?
Damage is dealt at once. So, while the 2 damage might kill the lion, there is still two damage to assign that has not yet been assigned. The lion isn't dead until all of the damage has been assigned and dealt, so the rest of the damage can either be assigned to it or to the player.
you technically can deal 4 damage to the lion and have none of it trample over. You just have to deal enough to kill it before you can trample over it.
the lion would be dead regardless, but damage is all delt at the same time. what he is saying is that the rhino must deal a minimum of two damage to the 2/2 lion then the remaining two can be delt to either the lion or the player. but since the lion would be delt regardless of what happens because of trample, you would deal 2 of the remaining damage to the player

what if do more then enough damage to kill the planeswalker. does the trample damage splash over to the player?
seeing as how planeswalkers are identified more as players than creatures, my guess is no. but to be sure

No. The walker takes it all.

No, next is "tap"
rpglover101 2 years ago
Probably. It's a core set. New players need to know this stuff. I didn't know what trample did when I first started playing.

lols when you attack with flying you must now make it float in the air and than tap it

The difference is dealt as damage to your opponent.

Dunno, stomping 2 more damage in to the body of the dead lion is rewarding maybe?
