my mistake if thats a Mesa Rec - the recording sans microphone is tough (could be a Line6 from here).
Try throwing a heavier pickup in your nightfly.. its a pickguard mounted pickup thoug.. you might never quite achieve layered chugga ... though the soul cant be beat. Good luck mate.
I was 17 when this song came out and learned it same day. Needs a lot more string control and a real amp goes without saying right guys? I had a Marshall 2550 when I was 15 - anyone that takes playing seriously can too.
