@logan500 well i see what you're saying. but the things you see as faults were some of the things that made the movie more realistic. it made sense that the aliens became scavengers because they had to adapt to a different environment that lacked any real resources. overall you're right, probably not the most original movie ever. but it's been a while since i've seen an alien type film with some depth, intelligence, and good action and i found that this had plenty in my opinion.

Some of these posters don't undrestand that the title of this was changed. The original said "Official" trailer in it. Now it's changed, at least now it's honest. @133spartan117 well i've heard a number of things, the first of which is that neil blomkampf himself said that "there will never be a sequel to district 9." however, there's also a mini teaser trailer of sorts showing a group of people discovering a strange alien creature in a pond that is supposed to be linked to neil blomkampf somehow, whether or not its a sign of a sequel is beyond me. it would seem plausible for a sequel given the open ending, but there's no real news as to its existence.

@133spartan117 well the problem is, it's going to require a huge budget to do D10. and since sequels are either hit or miss when it comes to movies, there's a chance it could bomb. if the budget they needed to make the movie ends up exceeding the amount of money they earned from its release, or if the number is close, they won't really have enough to make a decent halo movie. but knowing blomkampf i'm sure it will be at least a decent sequel, if there is one that is.
@133spartan117 peter jackson is only the executive producer. on the lord of the rings he was the director and therefore had a lot more power over the movie, that's why they were so amazing. but as the producer, he's only in charge of how the money is spent in terms of the props, sets, and actors that they'll be paying for.

And I would agree, the main actor did a great job with the role of Wikus, he made him a character that the audience could easily relate to and sympathize with throughout the course of the film.

I didn't know that a sequel was planned, the original was great, if they're able to do it right like the first time I'd watch it.
But my concern is the main actor that was in it, he was awesome in that movie, I hope he's in it again!

@TotalitarianPacMan Thanks! I'm not 100% sure about a sequel, but it seems very likely considering the open ending of District 9. And I would agree, the main actor did a great job with the role of Wikus, he made him a character that the audience could easily relate to and sympathize with throughout the course of the film.
