  • amazing!

  • whyyy????? why do people kill life? HUH? purpose please? T.T

  • @stephanielightsong They don't believe or have faith my friend

  • Interesting fact: While she was recording this song, Ofra Haza was singing to a baby doll to evoke as much emotion as possible.

  • Its very sobering when you watch the intro to this on how much suffering the poor buggars went through.. it makes you realise that we actually have it very comfortably these days.

  • I would be interested to see what this film would look like if it was adapted to the stage.

  • i have this movie and i love it!!! <3 i always cry when i watch it. I also sing the lullaby and think about everything that moses went through to help Gods people. It moves me.

  • Best version because I can understand it lol

  • I sing River Lullaby to my unborn son <3

  • @RizuX i cry all the time everytime i see this part too. its so sad

  • Every period in history needs a movie and sweet soundtrack

  • @RizuX Dont worry i was crying in frount of ppl who know not to cry so if any one should be emberassed its me.

  • THE PRINCE OF EYGPT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES,OFRA HAZA ROCKS WITH HER PRETTY VOICE,MAY SHE REST IN PEACE....................

  • @Mr. Alwaysright

So what if everything isn't right neither are you no matter what your nickname is besides it's a kid's movie they make it to impress little kids not people like you. Also I have liked it since I was little!!!

  • one of my favorite movies ever since i was little.... :)

  • i love her voice at 2:35...

  • Didn't the same guy who wrote the music for some of Disney's flicks like Pocahontas and such write the music for this too? Or am I thinking of someone else?

  • Think so.

  • i love her voice & this movie. & yes i know it's not historically accurate but i love the music

  • "The West India Company, which monopolized imports of slaves from Africa, sold slaves at public auctions against cash payment. it happened that cash was mostly in the hands of the Jews. The buyers who appeared at the auctions were almost always Jews, and because of this lack of competitors they could buy slaves at low prices."

Wiznitzer, JEWS IN COLONIAL BRAZIL pp.72-3 (Columbia University Press publ.1960)

  • I remember seeing this movie in the theaters. Then getting the flu the next day. Lol. I loved it though.

  • the first movie i saw in cinema and its still ma fav movie ever and fav singer and it makes me cry everytime i hear/watch it

  • this is was my altime fav as a kid and it still is

  • Pnemonia

  • <3 xxx

  • Just by watching what the basket goes through to get to the palace, you can really see that God needed Moses to live, and that he was the choosen one ((: And I also practically cry when Yocheved sends Moses away. She must have had some serious faith!

  • its a freak'n cartoon....dont take it so literally.....it's all inaccurate anyway.....but...enjoy!!!!

  • don't know why people gave you a thumbs down - it is inaccurate! I love the music though :)

  • There are many inaccuracies in it though for example - in the true account God allowed Miriam to stay on the river bank so that Moses' mother could bring him up and Pharoah's DAUGHTER didn't have children - that's why she took in Moses! Moses knew he was an Israelite and when Aaron met Moses for the first time he didn't beat him up! etc etc! The music is fantastic though!

  • each time the part where she sends her baby away, i cry. and when i see how close to death that baby was i almost get a heart attack.

  • Aids.

  • I love the begining to this movie. it's the music.. its so effective xD

    X.

  • yes i've seen that too, but i think the scientist are wrong, you can't know everything by science....

  • I kinda forget this...why do the soldiers go around killing babies?

  • the Pharaoh wanted to kill next generation of Israelites, so he sent soldiers to kill all Israelites babes under 2 yrs old or smthn... its in the bible... Exodus, i think.

  • Its one of my favorite stories in the bible

  • because he don't want more villagers in his town/city/place. because else there will to much habitants.

  • at 1:47-1:52 I always get teary eyed cause it just is cruel how they were treated!

I also love the song it means soo much!

  • why do you get teary eyed..its just a cartoon...a story...it isnt really happening

  • at the begining at the boom when i was little i got starteled

  • -Sniff.- I really like this movie.. I sang the River Lullaby on my snapvine, and got so many favs on it because they thought it was so good. I almost cried when his mother sent him into the river.. Such a cute baby.

  • beatiful !!!

  • I don't believe in god but I really did like this movie.

  • i am a christain and this movie touched my heart dont worrie i cried too. but it just makes us think of all our savior did for us and how he stands by us. *crying*

  • what??? This movie is not about Jesus its about Moses the saviour of the ancient jewish peoples whom suffered persecution in ancient Egypt

  • Human suffering for another is both righteous and admirable whether it is Jesus or Moses or anyone for that matter.

  • PT 1.

"THE KINDEST RACE of the ancient world WAS THAT OF THE EGYPTIANS;and if we direct our course to the NileValley of 3 or 4000 yrs ago,we shall find CONDITIONS THERE SO HUMANE that instances of Pharaonic cruelty such as we have been shown in some recent film dramas will be seen at once to reflect THE MENTALITY OF THE PRODUCER AND NOT THAT OF THE PEOPLE he thought to portray....." cont'd

    Sir Arthur Weigall (English Egyptologist)

    FLIGHTS INTO ANTIQUITY - p.58

    Hutchinson&Co., London, 1928

  • PT.2

".....the Egyptians WERE SELDOM CONCIOUSLY CRUEL; they DID NOT GRIND MEN TO PULP UNDER THE WHEELS OF THEIR JUGGERNAUGHTS, they DID NOT lash their laboring serfs, they DID NOT torture people, they DID NOT calously inflict death upon anybody-in fact THEY NEVER DID ANY OF THE THINGS of this sort which the film producers are at such pains to present to us."

    Sir Arthur Weigall (English Egyptologist)

  • AND I say YOU DONT know what your saying.

its written in the bible you creap!!

its your problem that you dont believe in that situation.. DONT try to convince other people with your bullshit!!

  • Pt.3 (See The Letters of King James I & VI, ed., G. P. V. Akrigg, Univ. of Calif. Press, 1984. Also see Royal Family, Royal Lovers: King James of England and Scotland, David M. Bergeron, Univ. of Missouri Press, 1991)

  • Pt.2

Carr eventually ended the relationship after which the king expressed his dissatisfaction in a letter to Carr, "I leave out of this reckoning your long creeping back and withdrawing yourself from lying in my chamber, notwithstanding my many hundred times earnest soliciting you to the contrary...Remember that (since I am king) all your being, except your breathing and soul, is from me."

  • Pt.1b

Later, James fell in love with a poor young Scotsman named Robert Carr. "The king leans on his [Carr's] arm, pinches his cheeks, smooths his ruffled garment, and when he looks upon Carr, directs his speech to others." (Thomas Howard, Earl of Suffolk, in a letter, 1611)

  • Pt.1a King James (who commissioned the King James Bible and to whom it was dedicated) loved men and had sex with them. At the age of thirteen James fell madly in love with his male cousin Esme Stuart whom he made Duke of Lennox. James deferred to Esme to the consternation of his ministers. In 1582 James was kidnapped and forced to issue a proclamation against his lover and send him back to France.

  • Pt.2

"It is also likewise OBVIOUS that in numerous other places in the Old Testament not only in the Book of Proverbs, but ALSO in the HEBREW LAW, in JOB, as we already noticed in SAMUEL and JEREMIAH, PHARAOH AMENENOPE'S WISDOM IS THE SOURCE of ideas, figures, moral standards, and especially certain warm and humane spirit of kindness"

    Professor James H. Breasted

    Egyptologist & Profess.

    THE ORIENTAL INSTITUTE

    OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO

  • Pt.1

"The publication of papyrus in the British museum revealed the author, Pharaoh Amenenope! ALL OLD TESTAMENT SCHOLARS OF ANY WEIGHT OR STANDING NOW RECOGNIZE THE FACT THAT THIS WHOLE SECTION OF ABOUT A CHAPTER AND A HALF OF THE BOOK OF PROVERBS 'IS LARGELY DRAWN VERBATIM FROM THE WISDOM OF THE PHARAOH AMENENOPE; THAT IS THE HEBREW VERSION IS PRACTICALLY A LITERAL TRANSLATION FROM THE EGYPTIAN"

  • oh I'm sorry 'barabibigbaby6'....I thought you could read....my baad.

  • THE PEOPLE OF ANCIENT EGYPT CREATED AND MAINTAINED THE CONCEPT OF ONE GOD.

"Thou shalt make neither man nor woman to be afraid, for GOD is opposed thereto..." "....but inasmuch as the eating of bread is according to the plan of GOD....."

Precepts of Ptah Hotep - ANCIENT EGYPT 3000 B.C.E.

  • @SuperAlwaysright actually they had many gods, thought you might wanna know; peace :]

  • "A study of ancient Egyptian religious texts will convince the reader that the Egyptians believed in ONE God,who was self existent, immortal, invisible, eternal, omniscient, almighty, and inscrutible;the maker of the heavens and the earth, and underworld;the creator of the sky and the sea,men and women, animals and birds, fish and creeping things, trees and plants and the incorporeal beings who were the messengers that fulfilled his wish and word.

    Sir E A Wallis Budge

    EGYPTIAN RELIGION CHAPT.1 p.17

  • @SuperAlwaysright Such a waste of bytes...

  • @SabishiiCullen

Ignorance is a hell of a thing aye? The problem here is one of an education gap....just thought you should know.

  • @SabishiiCullen

How does it feel to know you've been mis-educated? Don't feel too bad....that's what happens when you get you information from pop-culture and biblical myths. Neither has enything to do with actual history.

  • um yea okay, 1- i never had biblical teachings, try many years of history, but watever, why would you listen to me mr. "super-never-right"

  • "The whole Christian Bible was derived from the sacred books of Egypt, such as:

THE BOOK OF THE DEAD, THE PYRAMID TEXTS, AND THE BOOKS OF THOTH." EA Wallace Budge (Keeper of the Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum)

  • When I was younger and watched this movie...I vowed NEVER to watch it again because of the beginning, I didnt wanna cry again; I cry at stuff like this; when Moses got sent down the river and when I watched his mother cry :( I was crying for EVER... But now I watch it...I cant stop listening to it!! xD!

  • AMAZZZZZING!!

  • weeee

    lovely

  • can u upload da hole film plz

  • powerful powerful stuff

  • dude i love this song, but at least they should put some lyrics

  • This movie friggin rocks!

    Moses is the man!

  • .......Honaka is a mispelling of a Jewish holiday. Khanaka, or something. I can't spell it either.

Keep your little wapanese head out of trying to interprit things.

  • Chanukah or Hannukah are the most common spellings.

  • Thank you.

  • Incest is indeed the hotness.

But it is indeed wrong, by the word of God.

But eh. I'm not paying much attention to him anyway.

  • LOVE THIS SONG !!! THANKS

  • I'd like to remind everyone of the fact that the Isrealites didn't build the pyramids....

(I love this movie, by the way!)

  • Awsoem thats for the uplod *good movie to*

but i for got why were tehy killin the babbys agen?

  • Because the Hebrews were becoming too "overpopulated", and they figured they would rebel.

So they killed all the baby boys under age 2.

    Yeah, real sweet, huh?

  • whats wrong if someone asking? if u feel that im ignorant and u dont feel it, just simply ignore my question,u dont have to answer.

  • can i ask something? what is jews?

  • wow, that's sad. Jewish people are called jews.

  • ...Jewish people....

    ..mmkay

  • Jews is a religon. . . . they have honaka ^^ 8 days of gifts lol

  • thanks for the information. ;)

  • This story is found in both the Torah of the Jews and the Koran of the Muslims.

Someone said Egyptians were not Cruel, sorry but the fact is that they were very cruel and immoral people at the time and im a egyptian myself, its simply fact. They were sophisticated and advanced people but lacked morality, it was Islam which gave them that morality. anyway, Great film :)

  • I love this movie only because of egypt. I hate how they make egyptians look cruel when I practice their old ways. they arent cruel, everyone has a slave period. So deal with it :p

  • Fact is, what they did to the Hebrews was unusually harsh. Killing all their young kids because they were becoming over populated? Logic says that one would SELL some of them. Or let some leave Egypt. You know?

  • The Egyptian royalty was also into incest.

  • Of course. To preverse the bloodline, of course.

    Might explain a few mental flaws. >>;

  • Which would explain why they weren't always logical.

  • Just because everyone has a slave period does not mean it is justified. I guess your definition of cruelty doesnt include the murder of every newborn male child. By the way there were roughly 1 million Jews in captivity before the exodus, some put it at 2 million. Thats anywhere from 15-50,000 babies slaughtered. If we called Saddam a monster, what do we call a person who just killed babies?

  • monsterS, plural

  • Evan when you don't believe in God, this is a Great Movie!

  • i agree with you. this is an amazing movie all the songs are awesome!

  • Somewhat debatable.

  • only debatable to the prejudiced.

  • not entirely true because of the fact this is a movie and to make a story has to be somewhat biased.

  • the only thing i don't like about this movie is that they made the lady that found him to be pharoh's wife. in the Bible, it is his daughter that raises him

  • Best movie ever made, I love it. And even if you don't believe in God, it still has a great message.

  • I love this movie but it is sad at the beginning and middle

  • I love the movie too :P

  • Prince of Egypt rocks!!! :)

  • yes it dose but it so sad at the benging
