does a wired connection mean a wired connection to the internet? so does that mean i need to plug a internet connection to the ps3 for it to work and it wont work with a wireless broadband?

u hav to be online on ur psp for ur ps3 to find the psp. so if u hav a game that has online play just start a game or do something that makes ur psp go online and ur ps3 will catch it
@deaddevils1 i did multiple times i made sure my wlan was on it was even at 100% battery it didnt connect hooked up using an usb still nothing i was like maybe i need to use my cable so i plugged my ps3 with a cable to internet failed to and ps3 cable and psp cable failed i even contacted the guys from the ps3-psp error service and they where stumped to -,-, they said if an update comes out please try it again we are having trouble with more than u where sorry

ok register your psp through remote play settings then go into ad hoc party pick the 1st option just try your best to get through the japanese and youll eventually get the option to go into a world just cancel out of it back to the main menu then pick the third option to register your psp with ad hoc party and it willn say that it found the psp in japanese but youll see the psps name pop up then just press circle then go to the 1st option again and remember both the psp and ps3 have to be wired
oh alright, cause i did everything, but i didnt sign into a world just went back to the main menu, plus i unhooked my psp haha well thanks alot anyways ill trry it later, thanks again!
your welcome happy to help just from experience if your intending to play a monster hunter game make sure its mhfu and not mhf2 because nobody really plays that anymore i spent ages trying to find a mhf2 game but everyone was just playing mhfu now im trying to get my hands on it but im not sure if my parents will let me hopefully i can pursuade them
if i was in your position id make sure the psp is activated, registered and then check that the ps3 is connected to the internet by a WIRED connection and that the psp is also connected to the psp by a WIRED connection both must be wired then go to register it then go watch some tv for a while and then when you come back hopefully your psp's name will show up (check that before registering the psp) and then just press O and then it should work hope im helping :D
oh i actually found out what the problem was hha i didnt have the psp game on, like it was just on the main screen everything is all good, again thanks man

thats correct u dont need to use remote play, remote play is just a way to insure that ur psp is registered with ur ps3 and yea ur good on ur connection cuz it has to be wired anyways

actually no, this is the simplest way there is another way called x kai link which requires u to use ur comp (i think?) i dont know too much about it tho, but that if u try to u do have to go out and buy some specific wifi device (which i dont think they r in production anymore tho...)

any bluetooth headset should work it doesnt havent to be the official, but if u cant get a bluetooth to work a wired headset (maybe like $15-20) will do fine too. and you dont need to buy a cord for ur psp just use the 1 u have to charge ur ps3 controllers

okay so I got everything to work fine but after I downloaded it my controller has stopped working at random intervals, usually when I press the PS button to talk in text chat while using ad hoc beta, or after exiting the program. has this happened to anyone else or is it just my controller being dropped too many times?

well i havent actually tested this since i only have 1 psp... but if i had to guess make sure both psp's are registered and make sure both of ur channels are set to the same number or on automatic at least and of course make sure hes entering the right guild hall lol

oh cool thanks for clearing that up i wasnt sure. but im still having another problem. on that green title screen for ad hoc party i try to click the 3rd option like in the video but it doesnt start looking for my psp or anything. i have my psp hooked up to the ps3 but it just sais some kind of wierd error message in japanese where i can only press back and go back to the title screen.

I cant get the whole thing to work on my ps3 [40gb] It shows me some japanese error message and i can't log in or do the whole registration thing for the psp or any of that,,, i his circle on all of the menu options and the same error message shows up.

my psp is registered with my ps3 is that all you need to do? You dont actually need to be able to do remote play in your house right? i only have i wired internet connection no wireless

thats correct u dont need to use remote play, remote play is just a way to insure that ur psp is registered with ur ps3 and yea ur good on ur connection cuz it has to be wired anyways

but when i go into adhoc my psp wont show up and i cant meet anyone in the gathering hall.i actually plated mh2 with a friend 2 days ago but cant see, to get it working now :(

if it worked b4 it should keep working, just keep in mind that this is a beta its not gonna work perfectly. just restart ur ps3 and ur router/modem and try it again

man i was soo pissed when i bought monster hunter unite i was told it was going to have online play u know just connect to a hot spot and play with people but noooo i have to go through all this bullshit!!!! i mean whats the point of all the online gathering halls if u cant even freaking use them! how many people do they expect to play in one feaking area jeez

welll technically they never promoted online gameplay when they advertised it was always with a group of friends never with other ppl around the world and at least there is this. and if it was as big as it is in japan the game has sold over 8million units since the beginning of the series ppl take days off of work to go to get togethers dedicated to playing MH i guess they assumed ppl did the same in the US

actually no, this is the simplest way there is another way called x kai link which requires u to use ur comp (i think?) i dont know too much about it tho, but that if u try to u do have to go out and buy some specific wifi device (which i dont think they r in production anymore tho...)

well the only game i play online is monster hunter.... but like i said there are other game that work i know that other ppl play phantasy star online and ff7 core online im not really sure which others can be played online but if theres an option in there then its possible yea

hey im trying to get adhoc party but as far as i know u need a wired connection. i pluged my ps3 to my modem with an ethernet cable and set it up but when i get to testing the connection every time it failed to get the ip address cause it timed out

Cool, can i link up a bluetooth headset that would be for a phone to sync with the PS3?? or do u think i need to buy an official headset? and also, what kind of cord do i need to buy to connect my PSP to my PS3?? im sorry for all the questions, im a noob =(

any bluetooth headset should work it doesnt havent to be the official, but if u cant get a bluetooth to work a wired headset (maybe like $15-20) will do fine too. and you dont need to buy a cord for ur psp just use the 1 u have to charge ur ps3 controllers

okay so I got everything to work fine but after I downloaded it my controller has stopped working at random intervals, usually when I press the PS button to talk in text chat while using ad hoc beta, or after exiting the program. has this happened to anyone else or is it just my controller being dropped too many times?

i have the same problem as yzzin, i got a 40g ps3 and iv connected my psp to my ps3 and reconnected it like 5 times but i still get that ps3 LAN message every time i press o it comes up to the ps3 LAN message exept for the last option it will come up with a web page in japanese... please help

ok... still need help.
I need to know what to connect to the psp if you know what i mean like do i connect the charger lead for the ps3 controller into the psp or what coz it is driving me nuts i done everything but when i click third option with circle a stupid thing comes up that says Playstation 3 japanese writing then LAN
