i played wow for many years and i also now play rift... i like both each game has its own ups and downs... either way i enjoy rift and i enjoy wow its all about personal preference..
@ 2:04: maybe I'm hearing it wrong, but does he say plants will die quicker with a paladin than they will with a warrior or rogue due to sp? Converted back to wow paladins use of sp maybe? I dunno maybe I'm just deaf, not moaning its a great strat! just a little thing I noticed

The game caters to casuals and I personally think thats fine, as long as they keep putting content out for me to kill via heroic modes. Stop bashing WoW, enjoy RIFT because its a fun game, don't hate on other people who are enjoying another GOOD game, because WoW is good, and if nothing else extremely influential even in the development of your precious RIFT.
I love people bashing WoW and claiming they played during "Vanilla glory days." I've played WoW since release and what I can say is this. There IS more content for the casual players (aka normal modes) but there is still content for hardcore raiders. If you're not a hardcore raider you will not kill Sinestra, and I would go out on a limb and say most of the people bashing WoW as "too easy" have not killed nor even gotten close to Sinestra or even Heroic Nef.
@adolphjlj1 casual means they dont play too often and/or dont take WoW too seriously? Raiding to Sinestra takes dedication and knowing alot of aspects of the game quite well, casuals wont be there till we're in future tier content, if at all

Just out of curiosity, on what level would you put Sinestra in terms of vanilla level difficulty? By that I mean, just how long did it take for the very best guilds to beat Sinestra, after they had actually progressed to the point of being able to try her out on a daily basis? My guess is that it only took them around 3-4 days, making Sinestra rather ridiculously far from comparable to multiple bosses in vanilla. Just making an encounter gimmicky does not make it hard.

Did you even listening to what he said? He has all the settings on the lowest quality, you should see Rift with Medium/High/Maximum, its awesome and beautiful!

So many things in one fight. That makes it really interesting and kind of hard in a way. You didn't have that long video explaining WoW fight. BTW is there a Free Trial for Rift? Seems good, but overall I wouldn't blindly buy a game that I haven't tried out.

The only thing i really dislike about rift is that they slacked to actually paint all the npc models with more then 2 colours, cus now they look like an early alfa models.
I dont play Rift, but the video seems really good, it explane boss mechanics, raid composition, tanks, healing, dps, adds, everything. I dont see why you people hatin on it, really.
I've been a fan of you since i first watch your video's on Tankspot.
A few friends of our guild (in WoW) started to play Rift and i was thinking of giving it a try myself but after i've seen this fight i'm sure i will NOT give Rift a try.
Sorry to say but it looks Horrible, boss looks like a green blob shaking his body and the rest looks a bit stiff.
It did take 21 minutes, but most of that time was spent reiterating points you had already made and going over what the raid comp should be, how raid cooldowns work and other basic things people already know in WoW.
Rift is a better hardcore MMO than Cataclysm right now. It reminds me of vanilla WoW and the only people who dont agree with that statement are Wrath babies because they are used to getting things easy. For all the hardcore wow players that started in Vanilla/TBC i recommend Rift because it brings us back to those hardcore days. Fuck all wrath babies and cata babies RIFT FTW
@nickcaaaa I've played since vanilla and have been in end-game raiding guilds my whole wow "life", and I have to completely disagree with what you've said. My only reason is that its cause its completely false. More guilds cleared the first Tier of vanilla raiding then guilds did of heroic in the first tier of cata raiding.
@re1gn1te and guess what its because it was difficult, and watch THEY WILL nerf it. a blue said they believe anyone should be able to kill any heroic boss, they SAID heroic is way to hard. when it is perfect.
@Dasconscripts Yeah they'll nerff it when 4.2 comes out or is about to come out so that scrub guilds can kill off 12/12 normal and more can get 13/13H. Then the new heroics will be just as hard if not harder, then the same thing will happen, they get nerffed over time so more people can kill em. Anyways WoW is just a much better game then Rift.
@Pottsy194 Naxx wasnt that incredibly difficult, it was probably on par with most cata heroics before they got nerfed. And certainly easier than sunwell.
@TheWoWGrind I haven't played Catacombs, but I did clear all vanilla content back in the day. As such I'm not sure how you felt Sunwell was harder than Naxxramas. As I recall, Maexxna excluded, I felt every quarter final boss in Naxxramas was a tougher challenge than anything put forth in the Sunwell. We certainly spent more time wiping on the final few bosses bosses in Naxx than we spent on anything since, Sunwell included.

The mechanics of these bosses suck and you know it. Phases 1-X on every boss in this raid are the same shit, P1-X add comes out, deal with it. P2- Y add comes out, deal with it, P3-X,Y adds both come out, deal with it. Get your grades up and ask for WoW back, stop trying to justify you're purchase of this.

@xDrxRalphx This is a really heavily edited video. The boss is about 8-9 minutes on a fast kill, 12 minutes for newer guilds. It's an extremely complex boss, mechanically speaking, which required me to narrate a much longer video.
@xDrxRalphx even if it took him 20 mins to kill him thats nothing...Illidan took up to 25 mins when he first came out. Granted i know it's a different game but they both follow the same basic build for their end game content

@OperationCheese They had an instant cult following because they had three, (3), Tres, hightly successful games, Warcraft, 2, &3. THAT is what made it a cult following. If you were there for vanilla wow, especially it's launch and first 6months, you'd know it wasn't the great savior you make it to be. Yes, it was good, very good for it's generation, but it also had a company with the resources of Diablo, Warcraft funding it.
Those others are 'dead' because their nearly 16 to 20 years old!

Rift is actually interesting! Interactive environment events?! Yeah, wow doesn't have that. And the classes are very versatile and have far more customization. There is nothing customizable about WoW talents. You're either the correct talent spec, or your garbage at your class and a waste of a raid/party slot.
Cleric's are OP! in rift.

@re1gn1te and guess what its because it was difficult, and watch THEY WILL nerf it. a blue said they believe anyone should be able to kill any heroic boss, they SAID heroic is way to hard. when it is perfect.

@Dasconscripts Yeah they'll nerff it when 4.2 comes out or is about to come out so that scrub guilds can kill off 12/12 normal and more can get 13/13H. Then the new heroics will be just as hard if not harder, then the same thing will happen, they get nerffed over time so more people can kill em. Anyways WoW is just a much better game then Rift.

@nickcaaaa Been playing WoW since 4th week of release, and i have found Cata's heroic modes (sindra especially) harder than most vanilla content.

@TheWoWGrind I haven't played Catacombs, but I did clear all vanilla content back in the day. As such I'm not sure how you felt Sunwell was harder than Naxxramas. As I recall, Maexxna excluded, I felt every quarter final boss in Naxxramas was a tougher challenge than anything put forth in the Sunwell. We certainly spent more time wiping on the final few bosses bosses in Naxx than we spent on anything since, Sunwell included.

@nickcaaaa Thanks for your input Mr. Hardcore MMO player. You're opinion totally means more to me knowing that you were so pro back in the day and that WoW has just gotten too easy for you. The mechanics of these bosses suck and you know it. Phases 1-X on every boss in this raid are the same shit, P1-X add comes out, deal with it. P2- Y add comes out, deal with it, P3-X,Y adds both come out, deal with it. Get your grades up and ask for WoW back, stop trying to justify you're purchase of this.

@xDrxRalphx This is a really heavily edited video. The boss is about 8-9 minutes on a fast kill, 12 minutes for newer guilds. It's an extremely complex boss, mechanically speaking, which required me to narrate a much longer video.

And btw, Rifts is really fun and interesting! Just because it isn't WoW, don't thumb it down and cry foul.

But I agree that wow polishes functions very well. But lets not forget that they usually don't start that way. Most of their 'great' functions were mods that they eventually integrated into their ui. They've had 8years to work on it!

@OperationCheese They had an instant cult following because they had three, (3), Tres, hightly successful games, Warcraft, 2, &3. THAT is what made it a cult following. If you were there for vanilla wow, especially it's launch and first 6months, you'd know it wasn't the great savior you make it to be. Yes, it was good, very good for it's generation, but it also had a company with the resources of Diablo, Warcraft funding it.
Those others are 'dead' because their nearly 16 to 20 years old!

Rift is actually interesting! Interactive environment events?! Yeah, wow doesn't have that. And the classes are very versatile and have far more customization. There is nothing customizable about WoW talents. You're either the correct talent spec, or your garbage at your class and a waste of a raid/party slot.
