My max deadlift was 310 lbs a year ago. I follow the mainsite program of crossfit:
2 months ago I lifted 190 kgs (418 lbs).
So for me this works for strenght gains as well. And please: try the wods. Se if you can compete against a person with similar weight on anything: strength, endurance or a mix of both. You will eat your words. Try it, and prove me wrong if you are man enought for the challenge.
@eastnygoon138 hes not strength training there, but i gaurentee u that he did heavy snatch work out before he did that metcon. Also chris spealler has a current 210 snatch, 265 clean and jerk, 415 dl 335 back squat... and if I had to guess, you couldn't do any of that shit... maybe the back squat... but that's probably it.
@eastnygoon138 also to answer your question.... there is a difference between strength training and hypertrophy training, and he mainly does crossfit strength bios. Chris is also 5.5 which means his limbs don't have to travel as far as most people, thus being capable to move more weight

I also like getting consistantly stronger. I like performing squats, deads, presses etc. with good form and in an explosive yet controlled manner. Crossfit does not promote any of that. In fact, it promotesall of the opposite. Their mascot is pukey the clown. I think it should be changed to "rhabdo the clown"

That's actually fairly nice lifting (technique is descent). If he trained full time doing OL I am sure he could do 110 and 135 as a 62kg lifter.
