  • ive owned over 20+ sportbikes and the 4 buell xb's ive owned takes the cake in the corners over any jap bike. jap bikes have high hp and no tq. Torque is what pulls you through a corner, not to mention the short wheel base. ive been dusted on the dragon by jap bikes, but on the tighter hellbender 28, im ahead everytime. cant use 190mph everyday or the full 170hp. buells in my own opinion are one of the best engineered and balanced bikes ever built

  • Holy crap this is on rt. 42 going towards Harrisonburg. 540 FTW!!

  • i sold my buell xb12 scg last summer and got a suzuki hayabusa, wow what a mistake, i really miss my buell, great acceleration, superb handaling, all round sweet ride. Now i got loads of power but no fun and really uncomfortable

  • Buells have mind-bending torque, I love the XB.

  • Put a jacket on, put some boots on and ride some other bikes. This thing is slow as shit

  • I own an XB12R I bought it because of the V-twin and the pure fun and how it handles not to mention very low maintenance...If you do not count tires in 15000 miles I have spent about $240. My old ZRX1200 and zx6r would have cost me an extra $600 for the valve adjustments alone. The cost of Ducati to maintain is insane. FYI no issue with reliability in 15000 miles...I would not be afraid to go across country tomorrow on my XB12R.

  • ok why?

  • why it's called a lightning the answer is becouse its fast from 0-60 not more

so just like lightningits 1 bang and its over in the case of the buell it's rapidly gone from the traffic light and than you overtake it again:(

  • why half ass it and get a buell whn there are ducs in this world

  • @147mx I worked a Buell dealership for 4 years and a Duc dealer for 2. If it's going to be ridden often a Duc would not be my choice.

  • how was that pure power i kept waiting for something to happen and if you want a fast buell try riding a 1125r the lightnings arent even that fast

  • Pure power? don't think so! I had one and couldn't keep up with my mates knackered old Bandit 600!! :0(

  • Where is this freeway located? I'm curious as to how far out I might be?

    -09 xb9sx

  • Have you gotten on a 1200 before? Just wondering power difference between the two.

  • Awesome acceleration, can't wait to feel it for myself I just bought an 09 xb9sx, haven't got her through the break in just yet...but I'm almost there.

  • pure power lol ducati r1 turbo it"s real pure power

  • Why buy a Duc when you can buy a Buell for a third of the price?

  • @Neilstr1990 And double the class.

  • @seuny51 get a tan

  • @seuny51 Hmm, I didn't realize Ducati made the R1.

    Idiot.

  • @seuny51 yep, buy a bike that doesn't exist

  • i ride in the city think this bike is good choice? i have the buell blast and its great for weaving in and out of stopped traffic like a bicycle i just want a little more power

  • Either a 9 or 12.

I loved the power of the 9 over the 12.

    It felt smoother

  • I like the 1200, the power isn't insane but after you learn to ride a little better you'll be glad to have the extra power for wheelies and hooligan fun. If you live in a big city, you might want to get something other than an air cooled buell. I love mine, but going slow and stopping a lot are bad for that air cooled engine stuck inside a wide frame. Cooks your leg and the engine.

  • I own a xb12x (buell) and a kawi versys. both great bikes, about equally fast. Japs have a smoother tranny and don't make your leg sweat. Buell feels better in the corners and has more torque. Jap and Buells are both fun... no reason to hate. If you want roll on power and live for the corners, get a buell. if you want to go really, really fast get an inline 4 jap bike. If I had to sell one... I would keep the buell.

  • Well Said!!!!

I`ve had a shite load of bikes over the years, including a 1999 Ducati 996 (yellowémono posto)...sigh. The only bike I had that might edge out the Buell in over all `fun factor` might have been my 97` TL1000S, that thing was like a dirt bike for the street!! The Buell would spank it in the corners though!!

My 09` XB12X Uly is by far the best all round bike to date!!

  • hey man i love the sound and look of the buell xb9sx but im still leanin towards gettin a gsxr600 but im wondering if you could tell me why i would want one of these babys compared to a rocket, and whats the fastest youve gone on yours?

  • Buell's aren't meant for flat out speed. I had mine to 130. It's really as fast as you need to go. If you want a bike don't get a fucking suzuki. Get a Buell, Yamaha, or Honda.

    Fuck the rest

  • Ask yourself what you want from your bike first.

Do you want a bike with dime-a-dozen looks and whose primary function is to do double or triple the speed limit in straight lines?

Or do you want a bike that's different, gives you the power where you can actually use it, not way up high at 7k rpms -I ride a Japanese bike :( I am openly NOT a fan of the power delivery- torque out the ass and a design that's innovative every step of the way?

  • Ride both. It's easy to become addicted to the power and speed of a high hp Japanese bike.

My bike, a Kawasaki Concours 14 is a MISSILE on the Interstate. A fucking GOD for flying between states carrying a shitload of stuff. It's a very comfortable trip bike.

My bike does very well on long stretches of road, but for around town, where I can't wind the gears out and get into the power, it's frustrating. A Buell, with all its low end torque, would be perfect.

  • Buells are pretty cute bikes...I can put mine in your face at 130 HP and see what you think about that"cute" bike..You might want to learn how to work on your Suzi. See you in my rear view mirror.......

  • yea ur videos r weak as shit

  • i dont work on the damm things idiot i just ride the livin shit out of them....i let u know it alls do that shit and then i ride the shit out of them again cause thats what i do and corners r not a challenge and as far as buell dominating the circuit good 4 them it is there first time in the lead and how many titles does suzuki hav smartie........u aint gotta b mad cause u rid a american pile of shit

  • American Pile Of Shit?

Have you not seen my other videos.

    Are you really that clueless.

You just ride the shit out of them, but have no clue about them. IF you even own a bike, I bet you can't even change the oil. Just take it to the shop, it's easier. Bet you can't change tires, or exhaust systems, or air filter. Do you know how to tighten your chain?

  • 11 sec bike huh a stock gsxr 1000 is a 9.78 sec bike so there is ur evidence asshole....like i said buells r just pretty cute bikes and if u really want 2 go fast get a jap bike....o and i go around corners 2

  • From what your saying this Buell is an 11 second bike. A gsxr is 9.78, so close to 10 seconds. That just a huge difference isn't it?

    No, learn your facts.

A gsxr is a squid bike, for someone like you.

Back on subject, your talking about a inline 4 VS a V-twin. Not only an I4, but a Liter Bike.

No comparison on the straight, but in the turns you have a challenge. Watch some races, Buell is dominating the circuit.

    Stop commenting on videos

  • gsxr rules and eric buell sucks cock

  • gsxr is a squids bike and you suck cock..

    go comment other videos fag

  • post that shit somewhere else. Next time u attempt to argue, least u can do is give evidence rowdyboy

  • I know why it's called wind noise.

Buell's have more soul than that Jap crap, the only thing it needs is a better sounding muffler.

  • why the hell do you guys argue, were all out there for the same reason to have fun and not get hurt!

  • They are more enthusiastic about arguing than riding bikes.

  • wow i think its funny how all these youtube tough guys trash talk buells for not being as fast as their euro/jap counterparts in a straight line, but then talk trash about american cars for going fast in a straight line....seems like they'll make any excuse to hate on american products no matter how hypocitical it makes them sound

  • i think american muscle cars are an absolute fucking joke. who wants a car that is fast in a straight line but blows around corners? BUT i absoultely fucking LOVE buells. they are the sickest bikes on the road. i hate harleys. they are over done. but buells, god can they corner, and balls to the walls torque.

  • @Zeroflat24

Has to do with the streets. I'm German and moved to the US (S. Florida) about 5 years ago. Besides highway ramps you don't have any curves here at all. So basically a fast car in a straight line makes more sense than a sports car that handles perfect. Do I like it? No, but you adapt to your environment. I want to buy a XB12scg (had a ZX6R back in Germany) to enjoy at least the acceleration bursts between lights and some traffic dodging.

  • you florida sucks (no offence) up here is pennsylvania we have all kinds of curvy roads :)

  • LOL I know, paradise for jet skiing but that's about it =)

  • So a Mustang Gt, Mustang Cobra, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and all the other newly made muscle cars can't hang on in a turn?

What are you, an import queer?

Gotta dump 10k to make your car go fast?

Get a license, go test drive a real car, grow up

  • |,,| ( -.-) |,,| I used to have a 94 z28 camaro and even with the standard 245/50/16's I'd still have to catch myself because often times I'd find myself already past highway speeds before I even got off the off ramp

  • Totaly agree with you. Take a look at my 67 camaro 800+ horsepower real car

The buells are the only bikes that have the aggressive stanse.

  • I guess u never heard the words corvette(zo6 ZR1), camaro, mustang cobra(03-04), viper, etc ?

  • no comparison. this is an 11sec bike.

  • The Z06 and viper are 11sec cars with the proper driver stock, and with traction very low 11sec.

  • yeah, and they cost $70K

This bike costs 5K on the used market

  • and. . . . . .

  • rowdyjoe11, You are a fuckin idiot! have you heard of the 1125R by BUELL??? if you have then you would know that buell can hang with your shit so stfu!

  • ive ridden an 1125R. i wasnt that impressed with the handling.(and its a rotaxs motor so it doesnt sound like a buell) i think the xb12r and xb12s are probably 2 of buells best handling bikes.

  • Why are so many of you so invested in what bike can win a race? You probably don't race, and if you do, you probably race on the street (I'll read about you in the paper when they pour your remains into a hearse.)

I ride a Buell because it handles well and is torquey. It makes the power I need when I want it. I don't race anybody. I also have not had a wreck in the last 200k miles.

The moral of the story - ride what you like and don't be stupid. You can have a lifetime of fun on any brand.

  • Knock on wood my friend.

Having a wreck as nothing to do with your riding.

Hell my two wrecks had nothing to do with me, just other fucking idiots.

People like you and I respect the bike, so we don't lay it down. Speed isn't a part of riding. These jap guys think, BUELLS ARE SLOW! So what, we can't go 150+.. Got news for ya, Buells can now. 1125r/cr.. Have fun.

Can't wait to put my R6 against one!

    -Neil

  • While knowing that I might die on my way to work tomorrow...I still think that how we ride has a huge effect on whether or not we are in wrecks. Watching drivers (as well as cars), placement in traffic, wearing bright clothes, headlight and brakelight modulators, adjusting speed for conditions (traffic and weather), bike maintenance, etc. go beyond merely "legal". Also, I never ride with a drop of booze in me and park the bike on Fri/Sat night when others are drunk. We have lots of control.

  • damm so many Buell haters can't we all just ride and get along. Beside who the hell cares how fast you can go. Anyone can twist the throttle until the speedo stops. Twisties are were the fun is. I ride for fun not bragging rights thats what 1/4 mile is for.

  • oh....i just watched your other video and everything is completely aparent now.

YOURE A FUCKING REDNECK HILLBILLY....thats why you have a problem when someone gives you SMART advice when you brag about eating others lunch in the twisties OBVIOUSLY because your buell is so badass and not because you ride with poor riders.

fucking noob. go crash then and chew the skin off your torso. Then post a vid of all your road rash and your buell in peices so I can post a comment in there

  • If you watched the rest of my videos you would learn that I don't own the Buell anymore. So sorry to hurt your feelings you ignorant fuck, but you should learn to pay attention. I will ride in shorts with flip flops and no shirt all I want. It's people like you that like to call people squids because you cant fucking ride.

Wait, what do you ride again?

    Get off youtube you fuck

  • The only thing that keeps V2 Buells from racing are straights. In twisty roads you can not outrun a Buell if the rider knows how to ride, period. Not everybody likes to race at high speed anyway.

I prefer the brutal torque in short acceleration bursts without having to keep the revs at 9k rpms. You can't have everything in one bike, there is always a downsize. At the end it all comes down to your priorities.

  • ive got a xb12s, and you couldn't have said that any better!!!

  • @pjdaprinz very well said , also it doesnt matter what you ride because the wind in your face and the free feeling you get is always the same

  • buells have a very long way 2 go b 4 they can keep up with even a damm turtle--i have watched some many videos on buells and they suck period.....hey they look cute and they have neat colors---slow as a morning piss though

  • Ah, another V-Twin hater. Well if you had the sense to watch my other videos I own an R6. And for your info, I rode the mountain with an R1 and GSXR-1000 on the buell.. Had no problems keeping up, in fact, I was eating them up. These bikes aren't meant for flat out speed, but meant for the turns. Don't be ignorant, learn to ride.

  • NO!!!! no you have chicklet teeth!!!

  • i have the same bike only yellow and i wear pumas when i ride 2 haha how fast did u get it up 2 here?

  • Pumas are the best man..

To bad they stopped making them the way they use to!

    I'm wearing Chucks now.

    60mph - 130mph

  • I own a Firebolt 9R and I can say it is not "lightning fast" in a straight line. Love the bike though. Just not a straight line warrior like squids. Keeping up with a squid in the twisties shouldn't be a challenge at all. Hell, they should be having trouble keeping up with you!

    Nice video man.

  • Thanks for the video comment.

I stick with all the jap bikes on the mountains.

They might be fast going straight, but haha, we know how it ends up in the twisties!

    -Neil

  • "Kinda quick" I'll give ya. Fast, not so much. lol And before anybody jumps down my throat. I ride an 08 Firebolt. I love the usable power. But, it's not "fast". In fact, most 600cc I4 bikes will walk you after about 1/8th of a mile. And go about 30-40mph faster on the top end.

  • Thats a V-Twin VS an Inline.

    2 totally different power bands.

I don't care if you ride a Buell or not, It's not about speed, it's about the ride. Go ride a mountain. When you pull out of a turn faster than you went in, than you know your doing sumtin right.

    -Neil

  • It's a different power delivery. I'll grant you that. And I'm not going to sit and argue semantics. There's no better bike for the street. But, if it were "fast" people would be racing them.

I'm not dogging your scoot. I actually wish I had ridden a 9 before I bought my 12. But, our bikes aren't "fast". Very capable. Just not fast.

  • Hmmm, Well I rode with my 2 friends on sunday.

    R1 and a GSXR 1000

I had no problem keeping up with them on the mountain.

We was running our own lines pretty hard.

We all stayed a turn away from each other.

If you wanna talk about fast, then go ride a straight line and enjoy yourself.

I will stick to the skill in the mountain where speed isn't a factor.

    -Neil

  • Don't tell me you still want to sell it.

  • Enjoy Guys
