  • Did you have to reprogramme the ECU or is it just plug and play? I just picked the same engine with the 4L60E trans for $800 and I'm trying to see what all I need to set it up in my 68 C10.

  • how hard was that swap wiring wise ? i just got ride of my durango its a 2003 and ive been lookin on to doing something like this with a old silvy and droppin like a 6.1 in it or something ...can u still get all the programers and shit for them after u do this

  • whats the mpgs on that thing

  • does any1 know where i can get a standard trans for my 78 chevy truck its got a 350 4 bolt main in it, i need a performance trans

  • get a munice m21 or m22 that what i have in my 64 c10

  • thanks man nice truck

  • hey dude a have a 69 chevy too with a 5.3 engine how did u get ur speedo to work?

  • I used a cable x speedometer converter. It takes an eletrical speedometer signal and converts it to a cable driven output. Look up "cable x speedometer" on google.

  • yea but it isnt cheap you'll pay at the rear end for aftermarket parts

  • Not true, you are completely misinformed. If you have a ford modular, then you will be paying out the ass for little gains

  • where have you been? the aftermarket for these engines is huge!

  • Could you make a video to show how you wired it? I might do the same swap on my '71

  • Sure, I'll see if I can make one sometime soon....Feel free to ask any questions about the install/wiring.

  • I woik at a wreckeratin' yerd. Alls yo feller's gotta do is run yer orange wars from der fuse block to hot all the time and pink wars to ign. Yer neds to get by VATS so get a flash, get bakerelelctronix VATS bypass module, go stand alone like megasquirt or DFI, or get JET dynamic spectrum tuner. It's easy and fun, I do this kinda thing all day long at work!

  • @giberish9 Same here. I've got a '71 C20 longhorn and this is my next project.

I've been working with the small block 350 and 327 for 25 yrs.

now it's time to move on to the next "phase" in GM motors.

these are really great, dependable, good mileage motors and i'm impressed with your progress.

     Best of luck Matthew.

  • Sweet! That was funny at 0:37, it didn't want to die!
