cant you do positive videos on your family past cause that is what I like to see and my sister showed me that david yoder video wich she likes to look for bad stuff what do you have to say about the mennonites
I am not negative against the Amish, I do report on issues that I like, and don't like, and speak honestly on the subjects. For this case, I think both the Amish and non-Amish were wrong in how this went down. It was a sad case from both sides.
As for the Mennonites, I was living with a relative years ago that was a retired minister, and although I don't agree with the religion, I think they were really nice people.
ummm and uhhh are the key words in your speech, that shirt is pretty fucking priceless as well. It's clear your parents are amish, you can't form words. This is why they stick to milking cows and don't drive cars, too much brain power required for anything else.
i'm just curious-i'm not amish, but i love to go to Lancaster-do you enjoy going back there when you visit your parents at all? I sam your other vid with i guess it was your mom...
I was not abused by my parents, but by my brother. But i am not really talking about myself, but about all the other kids within the Swartzentrubers that get abused.
Now the Amish are abusing my parents, and my Dad is paralyzed.
This video still serves no purpose other than getting your face in front of a camera I find it extremely offensive He made a mistake and paid the ultimate price It sickens me that someone would try to use this for personal gain Delete this video and i will not bother you or your other 195 videos
Please just do me a favor and remove this video You do not have the facts straight and if someone wants to know what happened i'm sure they can find a better source
You have yet to provide enough evidence to me that I did not say everything right as I knew them. i was told he was Amish, and I question why you say he was not, but I'm not removing a video just cause someone asks me to. I have removed 1 video where my source told me the real story later, but you have not provided a "real story" for me to present so why should I remove my video?
Hardly. I know that is a stereotype, but I am hardly contributing to it. I am actually thinking some of the commentators are uneducated, as they use rather poor language.
But I do have people who do "get it" about the Amish and how I feel about it.
The Amish are treating my parents vary bad right now and I don't know what to do to help.
Throwing tomatoes is not an "amish pastime" either I understand that you are bitter against your former culture but do everyone a favor and stop spreading lies and talking about things which you know nothing about
I am not bitter about the Amish, i love my people, but I want to help them wake up about a few issues, and help the rest of the world know them better.
You make me sick You are trying to use someone else's tragedy to gain popularity Don't forget that the person you are talking about was also someone's family member or friend (in this case, mine) And for the record, he was mennonite, not amish
Ahhh why would ANYONE (Amish or not) throw tomatoes at passing cars? I am not trying to "gain popularity", I already have popularity, I was just reporting on a case that I knew about.
Yes it is a sad case, (from both sides) but would you go yell at a tv reporter for reporting it?
As for the "amish pastime" comment, that came from my bosses who were Old Order Amish.
I have though been fortunate to have had many friends online from a lot of different countries, and I have somewhat learned a little from each of them. Somethings are good, and other things are not.
Me too...but, sometimes people don't have compassion for others. For example, the shoot could've just had two relatives die or so, in pain, and the folks threw tomatoes at the wrong time.
It's a sad situation, but in this world, you have to try to think wisely, and realize that there's a cause for every effect.
I would not have thought that I would be getting shot for throwing tomatoes, but I think though it was a un-wise move to throw them at cars. Someone was going to get mad about it. (Still is no excuse for either side)
everytime a car goes by it makes a really loud sound on your camera..I wonder, could the amish be reacting to the negativities created to our world, our environment, our lifestyle by the automobile industry? notice how much quieter the horse buggy is... I'm glad we've got the Amish, they live well w/ the earth...other religions don't. I LOVE THE AMISH. very good people through and through.
I'd just like to say...Im not a religious person. I agree with what you are saying. I think many people need religion to keep them in line - more of a psych thing.
We are separated by religion, race, beliefs, etc. in this world. I think it's really sad.
Didnt know if you knew or not but the guy that shot him has died now. He died in prison becues of heart problems i think. It took them long enough to get him locked up!
No I had not heard, I had only heard that he had heart problems, but not that he had died... Where you at now? I am currently in Holmes County too, but closer t Ashland County Amish area then Mt Hope... I also did not know Steven, was not even sure what his name was, in part cause this was an Old Order community, and I was from the Swartzentruber community...
Im from Holmes/Wayne county that there was my stomping ground.I was big into partying with all my amish cousins and friends at that time that Steven got shot there. I kinda knew him. I was friends with one of the other boys there that night. It was a very sad time to bad all the kids didnt slow down there partying. Its so sad to see that kinda of stuff come into the amish.
Nice video,I live close to a Amish cumunity, here in Findlay, Ohio. I have never met any one who is Amish in person. But I respect there belief's and there way of life.Thank for posting peace and God's blessing's to you
I haven't been to Holmes county in a couple of months and I'm missing it so much. I live 3 hours away but we go as much as we can. We go through loudonville and perrysville and nashville to get to Millersburg then from there to Berlin or Charm(which is my favorite). We will be coming back at the beginning of Oct to get our pumpkins and gourdes from Hershbergers. I seriously would love to move there some day. I have a good friend who is housekeeping supervisor at the Amish Door.
I was curious about the relative ages of subjects in your story...was the Amish boy pre-teen or what, and what about the gunman? It could help to understand such senselessness...to an extent.
How strange to throw food at people when it could be used to feed the hungry. And how awful to shoot someone for such a minor crime. It is so hard to understand people, isn't it? Thanks for the story.
you said you were never a member, How is that, do you have rumspringa and you chose to leave is that why you never became a member. May i ask why you never became a member. And do you believe the same faith (doctrine) as your parents and the Amish community. I go to a pentecostal church, we are a holiness church we as well as the Amish have a high standard of holiness, so why did you decide to not be a member. thanks for replying
If you leave before you get baptised, you are not shunned (you get baptised when you join the church)
I did not believe the same way that my parents, they "hope" that they are going to heaven, and I believe in knowing you are going. (among other reasons)
that was interesting. Did they ever get the guy who shot the tomato thrower? I haven't seen amish country since I left Missouri. I know a lot of people in the neighboring towns in missouri did not treat the amish of the area too kind either. I don't know why.
Me too! I would love to live among with them, especially Mennonite. I live about few minutes away from country, but would love to move there in the future.

People are too angry these days. Yes, it's disrespectful to throw tomatoes at another person but it shouldn't be a death sentence.
The world is too short on mercy. We are too tense and angry. We need to calm down.
