  • VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • One of my fall goals is to learn how to play this on the piano. Since I can' t read music, it'll be entirely by ear, and it'll probably suck, but it's worth a shot. This piece is beautiful.

  • the creepiest thing about this movie is the way he talks stalks and abducts christine

  • claude rains had the coolest mask ever

  • @scarface12347 Yeah, that's because he was awesome, and because it was a full mask. I want one! They are so awesomely rare. I think if I ever find one, I would pay any price, even $4,000,000.00 it's worth it, that's why.

  • @Kirby9996 yeah it was a full mask, and yet, only half of his face was disfigured...

  • @Scar2401 Yeah, but he stole it from the prop room, if you remember in the beginning when he killed Corlatta, or however you spell it, she said "Take of that prop room mask!" He had no other choice really. And what is weird is that the acid would have covered his whole face, becaue that's where it went, but only half was covered...

  • I still can't decide which is more beautiful out of this, Joan's Aria from the 1962 version or Don Juan Triumphant from the 1989 movie. They're all wonderful!

  • @LerouxsPhantom For me it would be Don Juan Triumphant.

  • Claude Rains will always be my favorite Phantom

  • thanks i spent a month looking for this thing........now to find a recording with susana foster's vocals

  • What is the photo at 2:11 from?

  • @MysteriousBrownEyes1

Um... "Phantom of the Opera." Like all the others.

  • @MysteriousBrownEyes1 It is from when the Phantom guides Christine to his lair.

  • Beautiful piece of music.

You can read the very moving and emotional story of 'Christine' by googling 'The Susanna Foster Chronicles' and you'll find the most amazing collection of photos from this film, along with so very much more. Susanna's son, Michael Evans, has written the deeply moving story of his family 'Phantom of the Heart' on line in those Chronicles...

  • Music by Eddie Ward, lyrics by George Wagoner

  • I think that this is one of the BEST Phantom versions. Thanks for posting this gorgeous song!

  • I learned to play this on piano. It is beautiful!! :)

  • Gorgeous sound, hands down my favorite score from all the phantom films/musicals/versions out there.

  • I second that! It's a delight to listen to.

  • Wonderful!

I'd love to get a copy of this song. Anyone can help me?

  • I can play it on the piano, and i'm going to try and learn it on the violin. :D

  • Lovely.

  • Beautiful. R.I.P Susanna Foster.

  • Is this available as an MP3? I have the piano sheet music, but I would absolutely love this version for my ipod.

  • Where did you get the sheet music?

  • Bought the sheet music on eBay a while back. They occasionally have them under the 'Buy It Now' section.

Just looked it up and they've got one for sale in the UK. Pretty reasonably priced too. Just search 'Lullaby of the Bells' and scroll past all of the Deltairs crud.

    Hope that helps!

  • i finaly found the song

    wait there r no words

    crap

  • Love this song

  • Oh my gosh, it's beautiful!

  • Beautiful!

  • This was a beautiful composition, and added so much to

the film. Where did this recording come from? It is close

to the actual film arrangement from the climax of the film,

but different. Obviously, "Phantom" is a top favorite of

    mine - thanks for sharing - a big 5 stars! - Cortlandt

  • I would love to be able to play this on the piano the way Claude Rains does in the final lair scene

  • thanks for puting this on here...it is a beautiful piece of music.

  • Yay! Thank you!

  • R.I.P. Susanna Foster, 2009.

  • sad that she died this year.I'll have to send flowers.

  • a beautiful piece of music!!

  • Awesome. Thanks for sharing this, I've always loved this piece.

Wouldn't you also happen to have the studio recording of "Amour et gloire"? I'd love to hear that, but I cannot buy the soundtrack.

  • Wish I could download this as an mp3 file

  • So is this the actual whole concerto? or is it soem kind of wierd arrangement? because you never get to hear the whole thing in the film.

  • so sad

  • wonderfull one the hand is the love of Clauden and on the other hand is the terror of the phantom in a bright light sound^^

  • it's hard to believe that such soft music could bring such horror, gotta luv it

  • Hi. I have sheet music for the solo piano version of the concerto on my photobucket account. Please send me a message if you'd like the links.

  • Hi Peter! Could you send me the links to the solo version? Thanks very much!

    Gary

  • Dude, do you know where I could find some of the sheet music for this? I don't need the whole thing, just a snippet.

  • No matter which version, this story is ever-lasting haunting.

  • Could anyone send me an Mp3 version of this song????

  • haha me too!

  • This is too beautiful. 5/5

I just discovered this song about two days ago, and now every time I hear it begin, my heart practically melts. :) As I said, this is TOO beautiful. Thanks for sharing!! <3

  • What album did you get this song from, please? Thanks. : )

  • "Piano in Hollywood: The Classic Movie Concertos" which I think you can still get on Amazon

  • This recording is in the movie, it's just recorded over with dialogue and singing, I think. It's just majestic, thank you so very much for sharing!

  • It is never played fully in the film, so it is nice to hear it in its entirety with no dialogue.

  • Could someone please send me a MP3 version of this song please? Its truly beautiful please. Thank you very much.

  • Same here! Same Here! Same Here! Please, pretty please!

  • Wow. Yay!! *happy dance* Thank you

  • Thank you. This movie is brilliant.

  • Oh thank you so much for sharing this recoding I've been trying to locate it for years!

  • I was out at Susanna Foster's house back in the late 90's, and she had the sheet music autographed by Eddy Ward in her collection. She did an amazing job on it, and it's a shame a proper single with her singing on it was never cut.

  • Thank you. I always suspected this was recorded at the time. Great to hear it in its entirety.

  • Oooh, nice. This is a good piece of music and I can't help loving the 1943 PotO. Thanks for this vid.

  • THANK YOU! I love this movie! We(as a culture) have become so "sophisticated" that we cannot enjoy good, old Hollywood melodrama for what it is. Likewise, the musical scores are awesome! I have a copy of the original sheet music, "Lullaby of the Bells" and play it often. Thanks, again!

  • Why don't you upload your sheet music on photobucket and share it with all of us, please? Thanks. : )

  • I would love to do that but...I'm a little "technologically cahllenged." If I am able to get some help on this end, I will try to do that. For the musicians...it is in the key of E flat major. Thanks...

  • Cool. I have this movie.

  • That IS beautiful! I don't know why your video response won't show up under my video... I got the request in my e-mail, then when I went to my Youtube to approve it, it said I had no video responses. o.O Well, I'll see if I can't figure it out, but just so you know I didn't reject it...
