This always happens to me when I'm playing Modern Warfare. I'm not the greatest online player, but there are times when I get my own "vision" and start shooting people left and right, switch to my pistol and kill two more guys, and then throw a grenade and get another kill, and then I get killed and lose my streak.

@NapalmX717 You know what that is? That's just plain survival instinct kicking in. Everyone has it but not everyone knows how to tap it and use it at will. Normally though it kicks in whenever you're desperate. That's your brain acting on self preservation or in this case, since Britt's the piece left playable, he just acted on instinct.
