just got one today from a second hand store for 30 bucks with 4gb sandisk..works great, good audio but vid quality is average for todays standards. Still nice lumix/leica gear.

Can I use an aftermarket battery in this camera? My firmware is ver.1.1

Hi dud. I have one of those, everything its fine with the pictures, but i have some issues with the sound.

When i record a video, sound its recorded very very low and sometimes it doesn't record any sound at all. its the same when i play the video in my computer.

how can i fix this problem?

@Upsilver make sure you are not covering the microphone hole with your fingers or check for any dirt etc stuck inside or over the holes...

Hey. If you mean a timer for taking pictures you can use a selftimer for pictures for either 2 seconds or 10 seconds. Get help from a professional though that knows ALOT more about the camera than me!! Hope I helped!! :]

The point is that it supports up to 4GB with SD cards, but with SDHC it supports up to 16GB I think

yes this camera is really amazing bun in motion picture mode is not really good but acceptable...in photo mode it's the hardly port of this camera because it's amaizing the high quality of pictures :)(this sound like an advertise :) srry but it's true)

It makes amazing pictures! A tip for other owners: Leave manual settings alone as you don't have so many controls. So, don't adjust the ISO yourselves, because it can do blurry pictures then. You can absolutely trust the automatics.

I'd like to see some sample pictures, at various ISO settings, and various lighting conditions. I'm needing to buy a new camera, my Canon sd600 is starting to do some weird things. I like that this camera offers 480p wide video - any people have comments on the video quality? (I'd prefer 720p...but so few cameras offer it yet, especially in the sub $300 range). I am planning on buying a dSLR as well in a few months, but I need something good and compact for traveling, etc.

I have one and would rate it as an excellent point and shoot, light and well built, the movie mode is also excellent.

Picture quality is good but not as sharp as my 2 high end digital SLR's but then it was about a tenth of the price so its about what I expected.

Battery life is great and the charge time is very quick. I eneded up buying one for a friend who also rates it highly. One plus point is the interface is very simple like for example using an Ipod.

For the price its superb.

crap camera. picture quality sux big time, very grainy when used inside with flash, face recognition is a joke if further then 3 meters, faces and background after 3 meters are really bad regardless of settings, I had better results with a lot cheaper cameras,...grrrrrrr I cant tell you how bad this piece of crap is.

I have some 4 year old kodaks that do better, clearer and crisper jobs then this piece of junk. oh, yeah the shutter speed is like takes forever on 8mpx setting

i've just bought an ixus 75 canon..i want ur opinion cuz i wish i had bought that lumix..actually canon is great so far in or out and the design..ooh wow..the most beatiful camera but....!!! no image stabilizer so i have to take several shots n choose between them later n despite that any movement can't be detected.i wish i had that lumix as its stabilizer is awesome n its price is quiet convenient..well stevo i'm waiting for ur response soon.thanx n bye

This is not a review, but a description of the camera. All that I could read in the specs... What most people want, is pic quality, speed, macro mode quality and stuff like that...
