  • WTF

  • this is exactly how they used to do in Ilu Abbaa Booraa Western part of Oromia, Ethiopia

  • from health issue standpoint very scary. These young girls may not know its implication now but all this brain shaking and neck cracking have irreperable consequences. BTW I do believe this style is new to amharic esksta.

  • @goodness776 Guys do not worry about head being shaken or neck being cracked this is the culture of the community and it got nothing to do with Amhara's Eskista. Thank you for respecting someone else culture and for not being narrow minded.

  • yes this is Oromo traditional dance not ethiopia, it call "Trii" we have mony more, we all know Oromos are not habasha and habasha are not Oromo we are 2 diffrent people for those who confused...

  • @SuperTokuma Don't you think that is a little bit of narrowness.... especially in the century we are living in. Sewu yetina yet derisual, ante/anchi gena sileliyunet tisebikaleh/sh

  • My neck hurts!!!!!!!!!

  • this is one of the Oromo tribes dance. i think it is around Goba ... but not sure and it is one of my favorite dance in Ethiopia. we, Ethiopians, have many incredible culture that we don't even know ....

  • ohhh...so sorry, i didnt really mean to offend anyone, its just this was really new to me, and right after i made my comment last time, i did my research on it. again, sorry

    HABASHA LOVE!

  • oh no i wasn't meant i was offended ,,,,i just wanted to tell you the fact that most of us don't know we have different kinds of tradition,,,,,,, we only know the well known dances like eskista gurgigna tigrigna or oromigna,,,,, but we have tooooo many.....all are treasures for our nation.

    Long live ,,,,,,,HABASHA!!!

  • Habeshaone1, this is an Oromo dance. We are not Habasha, we are Cushitic. I am only telling you this to help you.

  • Dissent, tnx for ur help :) but i know. did i ask anybody about this? but guess what? I AM CUSHITIC TOO!(AGEW!) you see me here cause i love tribal music not because i am Cushitic! i am cured from tribal disease! tnx God for that!!! for me, habesha represents brown faces! "one" is for wishing our unity. but i know which race it represents but who cares?

  • Habeshaone1,

I don't understand how stating an ethnic/cultural background, and celebrating it is considered a "tribal disease". Also, generalizing every ethnicity and culture in Ethiopia as "Habesha" is a narrow label that leaves out a significant population in Ethiopia out (i.e. Konso's, Dorze,,Ogaden's, Oromo's, Anuak's etc.).

  • DissentlsNotACrime!You R disaprooving urself- U R claiming 2 be abyssinian-ethiopian-habesha.

For thousands of years even today:-

The arabs call Ethiopia- Habeshia;the Israelis call cush-and its people CUSHITIC-

YOU ARE CORRECT YOU ARE SIMPLY BETRAYING YOUR IDENTITY.

We are in the 21st centurey-civilized & educated people in the develop world are fighting for UNITY; but narrow ethnic minded people like you are trying to destroy UNITY.Remain being a DISSENTFUL HABESHA.

  • bitch u and those who look like u will be destroyed one day i hope u know that.

  • hoe habasha love my ass don't even comment on here bitcccccccccch

  • YouTube, please grant lucheteysan's suspension based on his repeated comments on every site- he has shown ill-bred volgarity.. PS turn the switch off.

  • lucheteysan- Surely you are not an oromo-YOU ARE PRETENDING YOURSELF LIKE AN OROMO-you are just a person only full of hate towards all HABESHAS INCLUDING OROMOS-Your hate has already driven you crazy-this hate poison U want to spread among the habeshas surely will kill yourself soon.If you were an oromo; you were supposed to be happy of this dance; BECAUSE MANY OROMOS ALSO DANCE A SUCH DANCE.If U hate Habeshas; so don´t watch at all any thing about them.

  • you dumb ass, yes it is....and what's animalistic about the dance....jamaican dutty winin is the same way, except not as fast...

  • @Hershey Ummm No it's not. Dutty wine is not the same if you understand the song its talking about sex and shit.

  • ok know i'm goin t throw up

  • Ay Dios mio, ya me dio dolor de cabeza solo verlo. Increible!

  • i got dizzy watching that..

  • don't hate because u can't do it

  • This is a very popular Oromo dance from Oromia. It's really hard to do without loosing your balance. Try it and you'll see what I mean :) .

  • Oh goodness gracious me!~ wow, isn't that dangerous?

  • Heathens!!!!

  • She might want to be careful. Could break something.

  • you are right poopdude444

  • Stupid is you!..and your stupid mentality. you cant diss someone's culture just its different to yours..Ethiopia is rich with tradition culture and many things unlike some countries. and you better know we are thankful for that even if its neck shaking or breaking or whatever its to you.

  • the duty wine cant touch this one!

that was pure skill they didn't even seem dizzy!

    great post

  • You Craaaazy that shit is madness!!!!!!

  • lol right!

  • omg their necks

  • Beyonce ain't got nothin' on that head shake! was that in real time? It seemed to be sped up, until she stopped.

  • I thought it was a fast forward. damn what are these ladies on.

  • Yeah, it was real time. We didn't speed up the video or anything. It's really her shaking her head that fast.

  • Thanks for that info. Those ladies possess a very unique talent.

  • @btrunk2345 wow... thats crazy! that's what i call headbanging! seriously tho I can totally see that a lot of training went into this.

  • QQQQQQQQQQQQ HAHAHAHA

  • We went to this place many times. It is unfortunate that it burned down last year :(

  • damn, where in ethiopia do they do this, im ethiopian and i dont see them shaking their head THAT fast, seems kinda unhealthy lol

  • i gotta admit that was awsome!

  • Its there, I don't know if it moved or they rebuilt it or whatever because I didn't know about the fire, but we went to a place of the same name in October 2008...no way would I be able to shake my head like that but I did get up and dance in the Ethiopian shoulder shaking style; that I dan do!....way too much fun!

  • do the dancers get dizzy, after shaking their heads so much?

  • I think so

  • Great performance and I was there last year to see this girl doing this dance and she was amazing. Is it true this place no longer exist? I hear a lot of people say fire was the cause to it's demise. Well it's a shame because it was really a nice place and the girls working inside were amazing I use to eat lunch everyday to see one of the girls she had an amazing ass and body I just did not have the nerve to ask for her number but that ass still remains in my head!!

  • stupid!! who asked you that? sick!

  • I would seriously have to sit the hell down after doing that. Great dancers!!!

  • Do you know that this place is burnt down!!! Ehadig did this just after NOC gas station was burned. Weierd!!

  • wow... what is this dance called again?

  • its a dance they do in Arrsi , Ethiopia by the oromo tribe

  • I don't think that is a healthy thing to do, I am afraid you are going to have seizure oned day.

  • wow

  • diz waz bull shit

  • what is the name of this dance?

  • dude...i'm ethiopian and i don't even know...i think its a welo dance...welo is a tribe/reigon in ethiopia...

  • Welo is not a tribe or region in Ethiopia.

Wello is a province in Ethiopia where Amhara, Tigray, Oromo and Afar tribes live.

Now in Ethiopian maps Wello has been broken up to 4 regions -- Amhara, Tigray, Afar and Oromo.

This dance on the video is an Oromo dance in Oromo region in Ethiopia.

  • I think Oromo dances are called Shagoye

  • Wifey types keeping culture. I LOVE IT!
