Think you for the video. This helped me figure out the tempo by looping in the main screen which helped me correct time stretching tempo, as well. Thank you again.
what do you mean by looping up a sample on the main screen to find out the right, true BPM ? i got an MPC 1000 and can't get that patch phrasing **** right cuz i can't figure out the original BPM of my sample..... how should i do this?
I don't see this as commercial quality tutorial..surely a slower approach in explanation and clear video of what buttons, pads or knobs are being used and how to get to each stage of the tutorial would work better.
Im still starting out so bare with me. About patch-phrasing When he says loop it up on main screen and not just trust tap tempo. How does that show you what bpm ya sample is?
1st thing you have to do is buy a Technics 1200, Pioneer CDJ1000, MacBook Pro, These will provide the best sound reproduction for your samples. Then plug your sample source into your MPC's thru input afterwards go to the sample section press sample. Sample your audio and you will have a choice to auto chop or manual chop always manual chop it's makes your beats sound so much better I promise. Most importantly have fun man screw around for hours trying new things.
You just brought me back to Pizza Hut, in Jerzy, in 94'... Ghost and Goblins was the shit! Sir Arthur... I remember mafucka! Tossin' the javelin at the zombies... the fire bombs was weak especially against the bats.
Loved this tutorial bruddah... I usually make my beats with Reason 4 etc but I have a MPC 1000 and it's time to learn how to sequence on that... rather then use it as a trigger.

wtf was that.. You spent thousands on hardware like that and you make some chipfunk 8bit sample sound worse with low quality drum work.

How did you sample that into you mpc?
Entertainbiz 2 years ago
you gotta open up the mpc to put the beat inside. you can open it either with a flathead screw driver or with a pair pliers and wd40.

Wow your advice really helped a shitload. No sample is worth all that trouble. I never really undertood patchphrase until now.

Connect your Gameboy to the MPC and Sample it!
Is that difficult?
Mamihuanna 2 years ago
You don't just connect a game boy to a mpc and sample. Doesn't work like that fool! Don't guess if you don't know.
Entertainbiz 2 years ago
Well if you dont know how to Sample, if the gameboy is connected: Your the fool!!
