  • Think you for the video. This helped me figure out the tempo by looping in the main screen which helped me correct time stretching tempo, as well. Thank you again.

  • how did u find the exact tempo?

  • EVEN IF U PATCH PHASE SOMETHIN IT STILL PLAYS BACK NOT IN SYNC U DEFINATLY LEFT OUT A KEY PART IN THIS TURORIAL..

  • wtf was that.. You spent thousands on hardware like that and you make some chipfunk 8bit sample sound worse with low quality drum work.

  • Yo, I could hear ricky ross on this!!!

  • yo you should do some patch work on the video game splatter house for turbo graphics, that game has some gems if you like songs from video games

  • nice work

  • what do you mean by looping up a sample on the main screen to find out the right, true BPM ? i got an MPC 1000 and can't get that patch phrasing **** right cuz i can't figure out the original BPM of my sample..... how should i do this?

  • @roflmaogg tap tempo or tap it out

  • how do i find out the exact BPM of a sample with my mpc 1000 ?

  • @roflmaogg thats what i was waiting to hear- its one thing saying we need to do it but isnt an instructional video meant to say HOW ? haha

  • I don't see this as commercial quality tutorial..surely a slower approach in explanation and clear video of what buttons, pads or knobs are being used and how to get to each stage of the tutorial would work better.

  • this is the only youtube channels that really explains the mpc 5k..now i understand how to use it better =)

  • u use auto chop with patch phrase

  • @dayta120 well i use 2000 xl

  • oh so u dont have patch phrase in that mpc . its only for the 500,1000,2500, and 5000

  • oh ok so u will have to do it manualy

  • Im still starting out so bare with me. About patch-phrasing When he says loop it up on main screen and not just trust tap tempo. How does that show you what bpm ya sample is?

  • sounds like old school zelda sample or something... haha

  • ghost and goblins was the shit. The game was really hard

  • Damn that beat is soooo heavy!!! Gotta love it! I could so jump up on that for a freestyle!!!

  • How did you sample that into you mpc?

  • you gotta open up the mpc to put the beat inside. you can open it either with a flathead screw driver or with a pair pliers and wd40.

  • Wow your advice really helped a shitload. No sample is worth all that trouble. I never really undertood patchphrase until now.

  • Connect your Gameboy to the MPC and Sample it!

    Is that difficult?

  • You don't just connect a game boy to a mpc and sample. Doesn't work like that fool! Don't guess if you don't know.

  • Well if you dont know how to Sample, if the gameboy is connected: Your the fool!!

  • DATS EXACTLY HOW U DO IT

  • no u chop it up but u use " auto " for patch phrase

  • dont forget the hammer

  • 1st thing you have to do is buy a Technics 1200, Pioneer CDJ1000, MacBook Pro, These will provide the best sound reproduction for your samples. Then plug your sample source into your MPC's thru input afterwards go to the sample section press sample. Sample your audio and you will have a choice to auto chop or manual chop always manual chop it's makes your beats sound so much better I promise. Most importantly have fun man screw around for hours trying new things.

  • Great job! Subscribed 2 your vids now.

We need more 5000 tutorial stuff here on youtube.

    Peace from Russia

  • nice. I never used to mess with patched phrase much before. Definitely gonna start using it more now.

  • I have a 2500

  • Hot track! 5 stars! Come show some love on our beat pages! Keep making great music!

  • Nice. have you ever thought of setting the sensitivity higher on the pads?

  • yessssss!!!! very very very helpfull

  • HOLLA!!! This sounds DOPE!

  • that was a hot game man and nice track check out my tracks

  • J-DILLA

  • wtf is wrong wit ppl

    everybody wanna shout j dilla!!

this dont even sound like dilla shit.

  • You just brought me back to Pizza Hut, in Jerzy, in 94'... Ghost and Goblins was the shit! Sir Arthur... I remember mafucka! Tossin' the javelin at the zombies... the fire bombs was weak especially against the bats.

Loved this tutorial bruddah... I usually make my beats with Reason 4 etc but I have a MPC 1000 and it's time to learn how to sequence on that... rather then use it as a trigger.

    Thanx for the vid!

    Been subscribed...

  • great stuff... very useful, worth the time to watch for sure. Thanks man!
