Your right, It was called the Big O Your not square at all. I went to the Barge Inn! I believe that was on Burnet between Townsend and Lodi. Wasn't Shiftys on the corner of Teall and Burnet
@wetlips1959 I used to like to drink the dark beer on tap at the Barge. They had a good popcorn machine too! Shifty's is still there at Teall and Burnet and just as popular as ever. I also went to Jabborwakys up at SU once in a while for the bands. It was down in a basement. I miss the Barge!
No I was born 1956. Do you remember some of these places Barrel of Fun Burnet Av Yellow Balloon Thompson Rd. How about that bar over in Nottingham Shopping Plaza something like the Plank Bar. Oh how about the Poor House North or the Poor House West. Those were the days.
@wetlips1959 Yes, I remember all of them except the Plank. I think it was a place called the Big O at one time. I went to them all at one time or another but never made them my home. I preferred the small neighborhood bars like Galluppi's, Shiftys, Jim Finleys, The Barge Inn, The Round House, Guess I was kind of a square!
@wetlips1959 You should check out some of my other videos. There's more local stuff there. I even make reference to The Barrel Of fun on the one by Art Robins.
WOW!! Talk about bringing back memories. I remember seeing them at Uncle Sams on Bridge Street. What a GREAT band. I believe they were real popular in the 70's Like 75-76
@wetlips1959 Love your handle! Thanks for your comments! I remember Uncle Sams. I think it used to be called "The Scene" before it was Sams. Helluva nightclub! It was nice to be young, wasn't it?
@buriedinvinyl It sure was GREAT to be young then. Your right it was called THE SCENE before Uncle Sams. Do you remember the firecracker glasses? I sure had alot of fun back then.
@wetlips1959 No, I don't remember them. I only went there a couple times. I usually went to smaller, cheaper dives for my fun! I hope 1959 wasn't your birth date...you wouldn't have been able to legally get in! I was born in "53 and I think I just barely made it!
OMG! I was searching for this.... I remember this from my freshman year at Syracuse Univ. in 1977. I had the 45... it was a local band... kind of retro i thought at the time. I have not heard this since 1978. I'm gonna play right now... !
