Hey! I have braces and I'm getting them off in 10-11 months so how long will I have to wear a retainer once I get my braces off? (Please reply, Thanks)
@PinkZebraGals Hey there Jessica, that actually depends on your teeth (how well it has aligned since wearing braces) and you will wear the retainers until your dentist randomly pops up and tells you that you're done. I wore mine for about seven months. It shouldn't be more than a year, I think. Hope this helps!

Hmmm....i din really follow his instructions, sometimes i dun wear during day time. only at night and sleeping...so i wonder....if my teeth will move....or anything....hmmm.....scared....
Sorry lol but you have to wear them all the time, even in the day because when i got first them i only wore them at night and cos of that my teeth never moved and then the retainer didn't fit my teeth anymore so i had to buy new ones :( So you gotta wear em all the timeif you wanna see a change ;)
i have braces my insurance payed for them lol i hate braces thoguht my teeth are already strait and its just i have a over bite so thast what and also they have to tighten my braces for a long time so then my teeth will close up my holes in my mouth you know when they take out teeth they had to do that to me and also so it can push my teeth back in!
Thats long! People usually wear retainers for only 6-12 months only.. if they're older. Thats why most people wear braces when theyre teenage because that is the stage when the whole body grows faster including teeth. So I am assuming you are 10 now, thats quite an early age to wear!
lol yup but im turning 11 tommorow so they are going to celebrate our birthday at school the school wants us to im 5th grade so yeah but we are going to throw a party on sunday and next year we are going to middle school sighs i wish i had mine off today
Happy Birthday! Well you can take it off, I only wore my retainers during sleep because that is the only time the teeth will move effectively.. besides, its too troublesome to keep removing and cleaning retainers during the day especially at school and restaurants :/

braces are betta coz retainers will just stop u frm eating leaving u feelin hungry i lost 1 stone in 3 months coz of retainers and i still have to keep them on when i eat buh it depends if u have to keep them on while eating so yhh by the waii does ani1 no if u have to pay if u brake a wire of your retainers?
Yes you do have to pay, but sometimes (rarely) it is free. I take out retainers when eating because well.. it takes up too much space in my mouth.. I can hardly chew the food. Well either way most people have to wear BOTH braces and retainers xD
The hardest part about the fact that retainers hurt is that you CAN TAKE THEM OUT! You have to resist the temptation to take them out; whereas with braces you had no choice, and thus had to live with it.
