  • does anyone know the name of the track used in this trailer? or is it a mashup of tracks?

  • @kesha98654

What do you think of Mark Hamil's Joker?

  • @kesha98654

What do you think of Batman The Animated Series?

  • My favorite Batman film.

  • I love both Batman series' as they boy have plenty of really good Batman aspects and I don't think any of them are really wholly Batman.

Burton has the look, tone, misfit aspect, and overall visual/stylistic aspect of Batman down. Nolan has the story, themes, and characters down overall. I wish there was a Batman film that combined both talents of these directors, but I still appreciate both series' for what they did for Batman. Neither is perfect of better.

  • @VenomShock

    What about the animated shows?

  • @Johnlindsey289 For sure. Batman the Animated Series is by far the BEST adaptation of Batman: PERIOD.

  • @VenomShock

What do you think of Paul Williams and Andrienne Barbeau?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I've actually met the latter. I think she's a fine actress, and as a John Carpenter fan have enjoyed her roles in most of his movies.

As for Paul Williams, I loved his Penguin. I hardly ever like the character of The Penguin, I Paul Williams sold me on him.

  • how is this better than batman begins or the dark knight?

  • Superior to the first film, imo.

  • @TheAltair4

Not quite but a solid sequel and was the last good live-action Batman before Nolan right?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I loved the first Batman but i thought Batman Returns was slighty better because it was a bit darker in tone, had a much more gothic look and feel to it and Danny DeVito's Penguin was a truly nightmarish villain. Not to mention it had Michelle Pfeiffer looking sexy as hell in her tight Catwoman outfit.. This was the last truly good Batman movie before Batman Begins and The Dark Knight came along.

  • @TheAltair4

Do you think both animated Catwomen (Blonde and brunette versions) were sexy too including Comic Book Catwoman and video game Catwoman or Newmar/Meriwether on the 60s show? Now after this movie was Mask of the Phantasm in theaters and that rocked and Sub-Zero which all got rid of the taste of Schumacher's movies and we had Batman Beyond and Superman and Batman The Animated Movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I thought all of the versions of Catwoman were sexy and Mask of the Phantasm and the others mentioned were all way better than the awful Schumacher films.

  • @TheAltair4

Selena Kyle is hot as blonde, brunette or even a literal catwoman. Do you think Hathaway has some shoes to fill in for Barbeau, Newmar, Pfefier and Metiwether? and do you think Philip Seymore Hoffman would have made a good Penguin?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, Anne has some very big shoes to fill but i'm confident that she'll live up to everyone's expectations. Philip Seymour Hoffman is a great actor but i don't think he would have been entirely right for the part. Now that nasty guy from Human Centipede part 2 would make an excellent Penguin i think. lol

  • @TheAltair4

Yes that would be good, you seen Human Centipede part 2? those 2 movies remind me of stuff like Ilsa, Re-Animator and Caligula combined with the feeling of sick 70's exploitation movies and Japanese stuff. And you know what i meant by literal catwoman right?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, i've seen Human Centipede 1&2 and thought they were gross and kind of ridiculous. Selina was also hot in her actual Catwoman form in Tyger Tyger.

  • @TheAltair4

Yes even Troma was gross and ridiuclous, is HC the next Caligula ? and yes mutant catgirl Selina was a boner-inducer, i remembered when i was 11 years old when i first saw that episode and when she did that pose in the exhibit with her nice legs showing, i wolf whistled at her, did you too whistled at her? did you noticed the gorilla-man's name was Garth? Wayne, Garth? hmmm, see something?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I think HC is slightly better than Caligula but it's still a very bad movie and just as disgusting Selina certainly was bonervision in that episode and i did fantasize about her. I guess Bruce and the gorilla-man should have started their own Wayne's World show on t.v. lol

  • @TheAltair4

Me too, i fantasized about Catwoman in all 5 forms like Blonde TAS, Brunette TAS, Pfeifer, Newmar, and tyger tyger versions over the years, i'd have an orgy with all of them .I'd see Bruce and Garth going "It's Wayne's World, Wayne's World, party time, excellent!".

I always thought Elizabeth Hurley or Mary Elizabeth Winstead would have made a good Catwoman don't you think?

  • @Johnlindsey289 lol. Me too. Elizabeth Hurley would have been great as Catwoman but Mary Elizabeth Winstead still looks just a little bit too young and baby faced for the part to me.

  • @TheAltair4

Was Catwoman your first comic crush? she was mine since i was 8 when i read the comics and watched the 60's show

  • @Johnlindsey289 Catwoman and Wonder Woman were my first boyhood comic crushes.

  • The last good live-action Batman movie before Nolan's series

  • GENIUS! BEST BATMAN MOVIE EVER!

  • (4)

One last thing have you noticed the similarity between Hans Zimmer's "I'm not a hero" track for the TDK and Elfman's "Descent into Mystery" track for Batman 1989?

The strings play nearly the same timbres. I think Zimmer got some inspiration from Elfman in that one. Great composers!

  • @Autopsium

FOREVER was as good as RETURNS (neither matches 89) and is looked at extremely superficially.

  • @SLPIFan Forever and Returns are like apples and oranges. Different directors, ect. I think WB should of offered Burton a blank check too continue the batman movies then. And keep Keaton has Bruce Wayne/Batman. I won't even talk about Batman and Robin. There were too many actors and actresses in a bad storyline. They should of had Freeze, Alfred and his sickness, ect., Have Robin away at collage. Have Bane and Ivy in another movie and have Batgirl has a love interest for Batman.

  • (3)

And at least I prefer Nolan's kind of replication instead of Schumacher's tries.

And i have no doubt that The Dark Knight Rises will be as good as the prequels.

    About the cars,

I love Burton's batmobiles for sure but,

Tumbler has solid functions and an enduring one which does its job. As Brıuce Wayne talks to L. Fox about the new batsuit, it's not about fashion but function.

  • (2)

But this is also because they are kind of nostalgic productions made in late 80's and early in 90's. Those cars, suits, decorative buildings and so.

But in Nolan's Batmans, Nolan just targeted a more philosophical side of Bat-world both in acting and story(script) instead of comic-ish world of Burton's Batmans.

As most of you have already stated one is more related to fantasy and the other is more related to reality. That's the big difference.

    Both eras are wonderful.

  • (1)

Guys guys... As a full-time Batman addict, i love both Burton era(except 3-4 by different director) and Nolan era.

Both have different approaches. For example in Batman begins, he focused on how the story of Batman had begun. That was successful. In TDK Joker in appearance was different than the comics but his sarcastic points really did well to enrich the movie.

On the other hand Burton's movies are sure more related and loyal to the atmosphere in comics.

  • @Autopsium

What do you think of the animated show and animated movies?

  • @Johnlindsey289

about the animated series, i really find them very close adaptations to the comics. Also the dark mood of the Batman world is well reflected in those ones knowing that they're coming out of pen & ink.

BTW, are you talking about the ones which came into life at the beginning of 90's? =)

  • Can someone please explain why batman kills that fat dude in this movie?

  • michelle pfeiffer rocks!

  • @DoraChania

She does and i adored her for 25 years as she has been one of my boyhood crushes and she was even hotter as Catwoman in this movie, i was mezmerized by her when i was 11 when i saw this 4 times in theaters

  • @Johnlindsey289 4 times??? hahaha looove it!! :D :D :D

  • Totally agree....Tim Burtons Vision for the story was great. His Gotham City was beautiful. Loved Danny Devito as Penguin ....i believe he was PERFECT (no doubt about it). You can all fight over catwoman. personally michelle was just fine. She has the greatest Voice for the role. i just really love her catsuit. MEOW!

  • I LOVE THIS VERSION...

  • good trailer but I can't see max shreck on this, this man is the really bad guy on the movie

  • The three people who disliked it was The Penguin, Catwoman & Max Shreck!

  • Anyone who complains that this movie is too dark and disgusting is a pussy.

  • Who thinks that Lauren Lane who played CC Babcock would have also made a great Catwoman? I think Lauren would have also been great as Catwoman

  • Batman Returns was more poetic...more comic book like dialogues, characters, scenes...it's "Burton getting used to the genre"...and of course Danny and Michele are in it...how can you beat that!

  • Oh man,Michelle Pfeiffer's performance as Catwoman was flawless.

But i hated the film, its was a damn freakshow,to this point,Tim Burton was pretty much using the comic books as toilet paper.

  • @apologyisnothepolicy

Did you think 1989's first movie was better than this? and do you think Pfeifer was good as Andrienne Barbeau, Julie Nemar and Lee Meriwhether on Catwomen?

  • While I really like the TDK, I think the most important part of Batman is the atmosphere. I personally don't care, if Burton didn't stay faithful to the comics at some points, e.g. the penguin etc. I think his style fit Batman perfectly and really captured the tone of the original, which is imo most important. As long as the essence is kept, I'm willing to grant a director his artistic freedom. Nolan's films bet on different aspects, as he doesn't even attempt to create an immersive universe.

  • I disagree. I like both this and dark knight equally. No offense but, people who make such a hardline stance between the Burtons and Nolans series suck the fun out of it for everyone.

  • @Hudsucker94 - Hudsucker is correct. Both The Dark Knight and Batman Returns are fantastic films. They both are truely Batman at his greatest hour in films (add Mask of the Phantasm since it had a short theatrical run too).

  • @CBright7831 I disagree. BTR is when the franchise started to slide downhill. An army of cyborg penguins? A bunch of hoodlums dressed up in skeleton outfits? Come on now.

In contrast, Batman Begins helped us understand his origins and the extensive training he needed to undergo in order to become The Batman. TDK introduced us to two of his greatest foes. That's why I think Nolan's films are the best in the series; they're the most realistic.

  • @renewer - In my opinion it's different strokes for different folks. I can appreciate Batman at his darkest (TDK, BB, BR) or even in his lighter/goofier moments (Adam West). I can appreciate learning his origin (BB) or hardly knowing how he became the Bat after the death of his parents (the first four films).

  • @renewer Nolan's films are TOO realistic. Batman isn't supposed to be realistic. The spirit of the Burton films is the one that comes closest to that of the comic books.

  • @Casarzino To each is own I guess, Thanks for your input.

  • @Casarzino True dat, that's why Nolan is ending his involvement with Batman with the next film being his last. There is only so much shit you can do with reality and a lot of the good Bat villains are unnatural in origin. Batman himself looks much like an oddity in Nolan's Dark Knight because that's down town Chicago not Gotham city and you got one weirdo dressed like a Bat and another one dressed like a clown in a film that is cemented in reality.

  • @1981CrueHead

And do you love the animated show as well?

  • @renewer Batman Returns is the darkness of an under siege Gothem city at it's best. Remember the Burton films had more freedom because Batman is fantasy. The Nolan films are grounded in reality, but in reality Batman would be a senior citizen, that's why Batman is fantasy. We would like to forget the Sheumacher films, because they we're gay.

  • @renewer

Do you think the first movie 1989 was better than this sequel and the only best movie of the previous 4 movies?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Batman (1989) in my opinion is better than Returns or Forever or B&R, though not better than Begins... B&R makes me chuckle. Arnold had some cute one-liners. TDK just took things back to where they should have been. TDK really showed us how awesome the story of Batman could be, it set a new and very high standard. JUST watched Year One! It was pretty good!

  • @renewer

Year One was quite good but not as great as Mask of the Phantasm, Sub-Zero, Return of the Joker or Under the Red Hood

  • FUCK YEAH PEOPLE!!!! THIS IS HOW ITS DONE!!!! Man, do I long for these days!!! It seems like a time when real magic was in the air!!! This is so awesome!

  • By far the best Batman movie of all time......Keaton, Burton, Devito, Pheffier, and Walken....Great cast and storyline.....I LOVE THIS FILM....Never gets old!!!

  • @angelbenders1

The Dark Knight...Bale, Ledger, Freeman, Oldman, Nelson, and Nolan....

  • @angelbenders1

ARE YOU MAD? BATMAN KILLS PEOPLE IN THIS FILM. NO way in hell can this be the best Batman film

  • The Dark Knight is the best one......but who cares....The Caped Crusader will be even better...

  • After TDK, This is my favorite Batman movie!!! :) Keaton didn't get enough credit, his Batman was awesome! Not to mention, Michelle Pheffier as Catman was indeed Purrrfect! lol

  • Well I'm glad Trailer Voice Guy knows what Batman Returns is all about cos I've seen it about six times over the years and still don't have a clue what's going on...

  • personally I don't see how you can't. I 've been watching this film since it first came out (when I was 3) and even then I could tell you what was going on

  • Put Keaton's voice in Bales mouth and you have the best batman character of all time

  • @killermel23

What about Kevin Conroy, what did you think of him as Batman?

  • You're all wrong! Bruce Wayne is the best Batman!

  • Bale is the best batman

  • keaton was gonna be in the 3rd one but he wasnt happy with the direction the movie was being taken.

  • @BYOSProductions Also, he was made Burton got the direactor's chair taken away.

  • @BYOSProductions I meant Mad pardon my retardness.

  • "From the sewers of Gotham, a new villain emerges. From the rooftops of Gotham, the purrfect enemy comes to life. And the only one who can save the city... is a creature of the night." Brilliant.

    Brilliant.

  • The Christopher Nolan Franchise is the best by far.

  • That trailer is AWESOME!

  • michael keaton is the best batman fuck bale he and nolan completely destroyed batman i mean now batman is driving around in a tank and bales voice makes him sound like a child mallester fuck bale keaton is number 1 to me

  • whoa, whao, whao!!! I'll agree Keaton and Burton did the best Batman films but Bale is second best, I'll take him over West, Kilmer or Clooney any day

  • the 1rst two batman movies are amazing and the soundtrack is just incredible. nolan films are great too. clooney sucks and val kilmer is a good actor but batman forever is a bad film

  • is this movie worth 2 buy?

  • @matthewinnj08 yes it is

  • @matthewinnj08 yes!!

  • Tim Burton the best batman director´s film

  • Yes. Nolan is brilliant as well.

  • Even if Burton basically dominated the movie with his own art direction, I certainly believe that this movie was more faithful in tone and spirit to the first issues of the Batman comics.

  • I like Returns better than 89, but that's mostly Prince's fault.

  • I just have to say this.

    Michael Keaton as Batman? Wtf?

    Sry but no way.

    Burton's Batmans were .... Lame.

Nolan's on the other hand are awesome.

    So....

    1. The Dark Knight

    2. Batman Begins.

    3. ? Maybe next Nolan's? :)

  • You don't understand a shit. Batman is a psycho-man dressed like a bat. Not a kind of grotesque schwarzy surrounded by bitches, boats, money : for what fucked reason he should risk his life fighting criminals, just for fun ?

And what about Nolan ? It's the perfect, insignificant (and pumped) ordinary man. Expressivity = 0 or even less.

Do we want talk about costumes ?the new shameful batmobile?the totally flat and unsensible screenplay (oscar to nonsense to DK) or the nonexistent direction ?

  • Gothic Titanic Gotham (oscar to ANTON FURST) Vs NY ? Are you kidding me or what?

  • You don't understand a shit. Batman is a psycho-man dressed like a bat. Not a kind of grotesque schwarzy surrounded by bitches, boats, money : for what fucked reason he should risk his own life fighting criminals, just for fun ?

And what about Nolan ? It's the perfect, insignificant (and pumped) ordinary man. Expressivity = 0 or even less.

  • This is really my fav. Batman movie, didn`t really like TDK.

  • Burton forever

  • I really like batman returns a lot better than batman begins. I think that it may be because of buton's geniusness, and elfman's music. over the years, I've noticed many differences with the batman costumes from batman and batman returns, there are two that really stand out, does anyone know what they are?

  • michelle looks hot

  • @HalfLifeHalfDead- that was a typo. Batman Forever is 4th. TDK is 3rd. that was a typo.

  • 1. Batman

    2. Dark Knight

    3. Begins

    4. Mask of the Phantasm

    5. Returns

  • wow I'm suprised they completely ignored Christopher Walken in the trailer!

  • 1:08 is sooooooooo epic

  • Yes! The nineties, when the movie voice-over guy was unashamedly cheesy

    "The purrr-fect enemy....."

  • at 2:32 is that a hang glider or batman's cape with not that good effects? Dont worry i love this movie. I love it way more than the dark knight.

  • 1 TDK

    2 Begins

    3 Batman

  • Yeah, TDK is a pretty good corporation.

  • exactly

  • Comment removed

  • @Wadsy591 wow you're dumb.

  • fuck off

  • I love BATMAN 1989 the best Batman ever made, whats the song that starts at 2:20? Thanks for your help, Batman Returns was great also. Keaton Best Batman.

  • STONECOLD1987 - I agree. Batman 1989 was the best Batman movie ever made. That soundtrack by Danny Elfman I consider to be his best score ever. I've played it TEN-THOUSAND times. From Cassette to CD. And they even use the music from the first movie in this trailer because its just so damn good. And look at those actor names slamming on screen in synchronization with the music. That batman movie has such an awesome environmental/ambiance to it that cannot ever be replicated. What a great flick.

  • I agreeeeeeeeee!

  • @STONECOLD1987 It's from the first Batman soundtrack, Attack of the Batwing...the particular section is at the end of that piece.

  • @STONECOLD1987 the music at 2:20 is attack of the batwing. watch?v=Zrev4QiPSgI

  • is mask of the phantasm ey animated movie

  • Yeah mask of the phantasm an animated movie

  • and one of the best as well

  • 1) Batman

    2)Batman Returns

    3)The Dark Knight

    4)Batman Begins

  • I agree

    1. Batman

    2. Batman Returns

    3. The Dark Knight

    4. Batman Begins

I don't include the Schumacher films.

  • 1) = The Dark Knight and Batman

    2) Batman Forever (sorry but Carrey and Jones were awesome)

    3) Batman Begins

    4) Batman Returns

    5) Batman and Robin was OK but I'll never watch it again

  • 1.the dark knight

    2.batman begins

    3.batman returns

    4.batman 1989

    5.batman forever

    6.batman & robin

    i hate batman 60´

  • 1. Batman

    2. The Dark Knight

    3. Batman (1966)

    4. Batman Begins

    5. Schumacher crap

    6. Schumacher crap

  • This was my favourite movie as a kid

It was made the year i was born too

  • For those people who think Nolan's batman movies were better than Tim's. You are terribly mistaken, Tim took batman and made it into what it really was, a comic entertainer. Whatever people were looking for in batman, Tim has done it. Nolan just made batman more mordern and that shit doesn't even compare to what Tim did.

  • @linkfan160 Your whole arguement is based on opinion. Both Burton's and nolan's batman movies are great. They represent different styles and different takes on the character.

  • Yes I realize that now, what I said before is wrong, that was like.....2 months ago? 3? I was wrong, I watched the dark knight recently I completely apologize, Tim's movies are still better but nolans aren't crap, their good too.

  • @linkfan160 I'm glad you enjoyed the movies. I like Burton's take on Batman also, I grew up watching them and they will always hold a special place with me, but I think overall Nolan's are my favorites, but hey it's all opinion. I'm sure in 20 or so years we'll get a new take on batman.

  • @rcw0388 ia agree about a New Take

  • But that's what Tim burton was aiming for! Who said there was anything bad about German expessionism? I think he's batman movies were WAY better and more deeper than the sucky modern batman movies Nolan came up with. They will never compare to what Tim has done.

  • And the only one, who can save the city, is a creature of the night!

List of my Favorite Batman Movies

    1) Dark Knight 08

    2) Batman 89

    3)Batman Begins 05

    4) batman Returns 92

    5) Batman 66

    6) Batman: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm 93

    The rest sucked!

  • Except for "& Robin", they were ALL great movies in their own time. "Returns" was great in '92, "Forever" was great in '95(It was the 1st Batman movie I ever saw and I liked it.), and so on. I can't wait for....whatever Nolan wants to call the next one. I think the title might be "Gotham City", or at least that's what I've heard. I hope we see Penguin, Catwoman or Quinn instead of Riddler. No matter how dark you make the character, I still see the campiness that Carrey and Gorshin left behind.

  • And to end my essay diplomatically, I'd like to say that while I found BR enjoyable, it had some obvious faults that one can't dismiss as simply being design choices. The most glaring of said faults is the oft-repeated complaint that there simply isn't enough Batman for it to be a Batman movie. Another questionable aspect of BR is the nature of Catwoman's fighting prowess; it's implied that she's an athlete early in the film, she goes from light filing to beating up Batman too quickly.

  • That said, I really don't want to rip too much on TDK, because it really did take comic book movies in a direction no one's taken them before. And it showcased several extremely strong performances, and I loved the timeliness of the "safety versus security" theme. Actually, I'm rather jealous of people that speak of TDK with such grandiose verbiage, as if seeing it is akin to making some kind of pilgrimage-I wish I were able to wring so much intense enjoyment out of it!

  • TDK meshes a comic book movie with a crime drama. If you'd prefer that to a comic book movie that's been meshed with expressionism, well, that's taste for you. What you see as flaws in BR are (mostly) just design choices. TDK was too long (the 'sinister choice' scenario on the ferries was unnecessary and overdone), the Joker was seemingly omnipotent, and Harvey Dent was much too underdeveloped and lacked presence. And that Gordon didn't tell his wife about his false death made me groan.

  • Any given episode of NYPD Blue is more plausible than a Batman film, but that doesn't make them better. While I enjoyed TDK, its faults are too often overlooked. Because of a lack of space, I'll focus on just one such fault: the Joker's robbery at the beginning would be fine in a rollicking melodrama, but it doesn't mesh with the stark realism of the rest of the film (he just drives out of a bank in a school bus and no one notices, not even the guys in front or behind him?).

  • I would agree that Nolan's are more plausible (for the most part), but to say that Batman Returns lacks plot, character depth or emotion is a stretch. Nolan's Batman movies were quality flicks, but they never caused me to feel the depth or breadth of emotions that Batman Returns inspires.

  • george clooney?????? adam west, ok but george clooney? But I guess that is my opinion

  • I think 0:55 was one of the main reasons people watched this film lol.

  • i like both keaton and bale as batman the only thing i wish was that there was more batman action scene in tim burtons version but i personally prefer bale but keaton did a good job

  • Keaton was better than Bale because his voice is more natural and his Batmobile is cooler.

  • Comment removed

  • 1 people were complaining that Burtons movie are too dark, so you lost a point on that

2just because the new movie screws up the unrealistic comic things (Which batman was based on in the first place!) doesn't make it better in my eyes

3 Keaton at least ain't has that damn voice when he is batman!

  • lol, that's it, huh?

  • @thklai And Keaton's Batman suit looked way better even though the kneck piece

restricted his movement a bit. Nolan's Batman mask is terrible looking,it doesn't

    look good enough to me.

  • @thklai And his eyes are the Batman's eyes !

  • @thklai you're retarded.

  • @thklai I agree with you on the voice, but not the batmobile part. it's too silly in this version.

  • What an awesome trailer, makes me wanna see it again.

  • Keaton is better than Bale but Burton's Batman vs Nolan's is too hard to compare cuz they're 2 different types of directors. they both had great stars of their times to play these roles. to me Nicholson is still a better joker cuz he brings that comedy along with the madness Ledgers was more madness and using his brain but still they both portrayed the joker well much as both Keaton and Bale has done for Batman

  • Without a doubt the best out of the original 4 Bat films.

  • REST IN PEACE DON LAFONTAINE

  • My favorite Batman film

  • Venomshock and ajhoax your both gay. Batman Returns is a great movie but nothing beats the first one

  • Batman forver = shit Batman return = PERFECT

  • Batman 1 and 2 are the best 3 was ok 4 sucks ass The remake was good and the new one is going to rock.

I would love to see a Batman Beyond movie

  • it wasn't a remake.

  • yes it was 'Batman Begins' was a remake.

  • No, it wasn't. It was a reboot, not a remake. Very different terms.

  • Well, you're an idiot then. Because a remake is telling the same story in a different way. Peter Jackson's King Kong is a remake. Batman Begins' story has no real similarities with Burton's Batman, therefore, REBOOT, not REMAKE.
