Oh...please talk to me, don't fight or argue. Is Dream Theater metal? Great musicians, but I never really thought they were metal. OverKill was a great pick. Slayer and Megadeth, too. All 3 are better than Metallica, IMO. I'll have to listen to some Fear Factory. I dunno. Your list just seems kinda like what a metal poser would put up. No offense intended though. It is just ...is there a genre called "Weak Metal"? That's where some of these bands belong. Just an opinion...
By boring, I mean that the top 3 is what you would get if you polled a million people that didn't really LISTEN to metal. If you polled true "metalheads" there is no way that you would get that same top 3. True metalheads don't really consider Metallica "thrash metal", but I bet you do, right? Creeping Death is my favorite Metallica song, too. I just never liked Metallica much and have really liked only a couple of their songs over the past 20 years maybe. Well, I'm not going to talk trash and furthermore I salute you for putting your list of who you REALLY think are the top 10 bands up on this list. If I were to make a top 10 metal list, I wouldn't put my name on this list. No offense as I'm sure that you would look down on my list, too. The top 3 are boring.

1- Vektor, 2- Death, 3- Megadeth, 4- Sadus, 5- Obituary, 6- Vio-lence, 7- Atheist, 8- Obituary, 9- Incubus, 10- Demolition Hammer
My favorite overall:
1-,Vektor, 2- Mercyful Fate, 3- Death, 4- Bathory, 5- At the Gates, 6- Megadeth, 7- Sepultura, 8- In Flames, 9- Sadus, 10- Dark Tranquillity

Dyers Eve one of the best songs in the world ;) Trying to find other bands but nothing can compare to Metallica and Megadeth and Slayer somehow.
