  • i need to do this.

  • Wait... how did this video get so many views? I picked up those slides in 2 hours boarding with my friends. And I'm 15. I should've made a video. I'm not hating bro. Just hating myself, haha

  • just wanted to know what board you were using, is it an evo?

  • Im still longboarding and its January in Michigan. yeah no snow its weird as hell

  • Is it me or does it sound like a light saber when he slides ^ _ ^

  • haha if you don't slide then you're screwed by that wall!

  • who cares parking garages are illigal

  • plz anser do u need the Gloves

  • @homer13ist

if you dont want to skin your hand yes

  • @homer13ist yes otherwise you will rip your skin apart dude

  • @homer13ist yes

  • Wow! Smart going to an almost empty car garage!

  • Comment removed

  • What setup are you running?

  • God damn I wish i lived around there... LONG BOARDING ALL YEAR ROUND!

  • nice vid

  • Nice Evo ;)

  • im seeing a lot of sliding but sure as heck aint learning a lot of sliding..

  • nope its the chinook

  • try speed checks, thats what i normally do

  • What board

  • @Willo9251 Landy Evo if I'm not mistaking.

  • My poor Russia. We haven't empty rock roads, many cars is on a road... And places to Ride is quite few... I living not in Moscow, in Novosibirsk. Empty underground parking - is dream for Russia. This dream not exist, because we haven't undeground parkings :D hahaha. (Maybe this exist in Moscow)

  • The funny part is you didn't successfully complete any of those slides

  • Is that a Rayne Demonseed?

  • @721ShawnPR

Hahaha ditto! I was so excited when the board was delivered to me. I ripped open the packaging and immediately took it out the street. The trucks were tight I had never carved much before. I had never skated much before, only bmx. Went down my street without any gear completely forget it gets really fast and levels out to a big T intersection. So I tried to aim for the sidewalk, hit the ledge and my board went in a drain and I flew into somebody's front hedge. First scratches=2min.

  • i learned how to powerslide on a 4foot sector nine so if i can do that you can do this.

  • let me guess landyachtz evo?

  • @haxforpax let me guess landyachtz chinook thats what i got and it looks like one even if evo and chinook look the same

  • thats a pretty god way to stop

  • @jakekayapeslayer

Maybe you dont have the great weels

  • Hey I think I know how to slide but I don't think im going fast enough. How.fast do you think I need to go

  • Thumbs up If you like longboarding videos.

  • You learned on an evo, too!!

  • I'm currently still practicing slides, but when i slide I seem to just take a sharp turn with my board , and not really slow down? Anyone know what's going wrong here?(my right foot is on the front, left on the back) I gain a lot of speed, crouch down, place my right hand on the ground near the right side of my deck, take the left front side of my deck and pull it towards me whilst i push my left foot so the back of my board goes horizontal

  • @Rostemiere Just keep trying. It sounds like your trying to do a coleman while grabbing so you might want to try it without grabbing. Also, you can try to learn different slides first. Try learning a toeside slide. It might be easier for you.

  • @PimpBunnyRabit Any idea where i could find a decent tutorial for a toeside slide? good sliding tutorials seem to be scarce on youtube o_o

  • @Rostemiere Here's a few for toe and heel. pendy: /watch?v=BZ-hmrc8NDI Coleman: /watch?v=pC8omKI_dUQ Toeside Predrift: /watch?v=AwdylJjMBrc Good Luck :)

  • @PimpBunnyRabit Thanks man ! I definitely will, and I'll practice on both toeside and coleman. I'll definitely let you know when I get it!

  • @Rostemiere Alright cool i hope the tutorials helped.

  • @PimpBunnyRabit Thanks for the help! I nailed it!

  • @Rostemiere Awesome

  • @Rostemiere put most, if not all, of your weight on your hand on the ground and your front foot thus freeing your back foot to whip the board around easily

  • @jaber900 I try this, but the issue is that my board stops really abruptly most of the time I do this, and my weight is being thrown over my board , but I think this is because when I pull my board to me , and slde, my front wheels kinda pop off the ground..

  • @Rostemiere its either that or ,if ur trying the coleman slide, you arent leaning back far enough... when in doubt lean back because the worst thing that will happen is you will fall on your butt

  • @jaber900 Alright, I'll try that, I've noticed it a few times when I'm filming my slides that I'm not even close of leaning back far enough like the video's I see on YT, I'll keep practicing and watch how much I lean back. I'll let you know when I hit it !

  • @jaber900 Thanks for the help! I nailed it!

  • @Rostemiere no problem

  • TERRIBLE!

  • How do you actually begin practicing? I've been longboarding for about a month maybe and ive been enjoying doing free riding for quite a while. But if im gonna go into higher speeds (my goal) and high roads I need to get this figured out. I've yet not tried to go in speed and slide since im pretty sure im gonna get sliced up, and I cant really manage to do anything at walking speed either. It isnt the same underground as with a snowboard, or does it become nearly that when in speed?

  • @ThePatchway make sure you have a helmat and slide gloves, knee pads help a lot too, and what i did was just kinda put both hands on the ground and got use to that and just practicing, then for stand up sides id pivit on the board to get the motion down and just slowly start going more into a slide. good luck!

  • Pretty good but not enough to get any branch

  • i learned slides by doing toe sides with slide gloves. I think heelside is harder

  • i tried this.....i hit a pole.....

  • i tried this... i hit a pole

  • s t i n k b u g

  • where can a man get a pair of pants like those??

  • no speed wobble?

  • @Despendable its an evo going 20 mph what do you think?

  • Almost was arrested for trying this in the parking garage of a Hilton hotel by.....I guess....Hilton police? I don't know. Nothing against law enforcement but, hotel police, really, I can't take you anymore seriously than college campus security.

  • @PanamaJewel Hotel police have no right to detain you. They are not allowed to put their hands on you unless you threaten their safety. Next time just walk away. If they touch you scream like you're in pain.

  • @twogiraffe they can detain you, its there property and they can arrest you for trust passing untell the police come.

  • @TuckerMadison can you speak english, or were you just dropped at a very young age?

  • @forgiethehippie haha yeaz, i spalls a dot wronggzzb

  • im assuming you just started learning how to longboard?

Cheack out my channel if u want to see some sick shit and or join in on the movie being made

  • I tried it at my neighborhood. I slammed under a parked car..

  • I bought my longboard.. I was excited... I went downhill with no practice whatsoever... I didn't know how to brake... I had no gear on.. I saw the sidewalk; as soon as the board hit the ledge I made a jump for the grass and flew about a 20 feet distance. Epic first wipeout.. :')

  • @721ShawnPR what. a. noob. :L

  • @beyondthelol I guess.. :(

  • @721ShawnPR not the worst though, my friend bought a skateboard and tried to skate down a hill on his first day. he fucked up and hit his face on the concrete. he broke 4 or 5 teeth and had to get fake ones xD

  • @beyondthelol Which is why I am thankful for the lack of skill that allowed me to at least make it to the grass at the end of the hill withouth breaking anything... just a scraped elbow & knee. :'D -Tell your friend I said he's a retard. xD

  • @721ShawnPR I did the same thing in Caguas xD

  • @guachu13 I havent gone to el Yunque cause I'm not living in PR right now.. but if I was, I would've already killed myself there. xD

  • @721ShawnPR in El Yunque? are you crazy? xD

  • @guachu13 Maybe.. lol. -That's why i wanna get better before going back, i wanna ride there. I know some friends that frequently visist a secluded part of it & skate there. xD

  • @721ShawnPR haha we have all been through this, and its awesome

  • @721ShawnPR fuck yea i did the same thing! hahahah

  • @721ShawnPR same here lol except i didn't fly 20 feet

  • @721ShawnPR Same thing happend here bro! good times...

  • @moonfire23 really are good times. :)

  • @721ShawnPR i just got my longboard today and that is exactly what happend to me

  • @kirin123456798 haha. hope you didn't hurt yourself. Luckily all i got was a few scrapes, they're pretty big and left a nice scar... but thank God nothing really happened. :)

  • Wouldnt this just kill your wheels?

  • @notoriousstewie0 not on smooth ground

  • @mj224223 If your going down a hill though should you try to just ride it out to avoid hurting the wheels then?

  • @notoriousstewie0 no the wheels shud last a good while if your going down hills and sliding

  • @notoriousstewie0

Get atleast 81a and it will be fine.

  • @notoriousstewie0 Yeah it does. Still cheap for the fucking adrenaline hit of sliding a huge hill.

  • stiiinnnkkkbuggggiiiinnnnnn.

  • Dude no offense but u kinda suck u fell doing a low down slide

  • i just tried sliding for the first time today!!! too bad the board i was using (my friends brothers) has landyachtz mini monster hawgs, so the outside wheels were off the ground! i couldnt break the traction!!!!!!!! lmao

  • wow thats fast : O

  • nice vid, i wish i could slide. i need some gloves, better board, and a helmet lol

  • Thumbs up if the comments were more helpful than the video cuz they were for me :P

  • Board?

  • @supertacoman132 its a dropdown longboard

  • @supertacoman132 I think it's a Landy Evo.

  • Good vid. I cant do this yet, but do you have to have hard weels to do it? I have 75a 's and i cant do it. Should i be able too?

  • @RepresentinDa614 u jst need speed bro thts the key

  • nice..

  • @BARsrule2 thanks it helped a lot and I finally got it today. Speed is how to slide. :)

  • If you wanna stop the easy way, just jump off the board ;D

  • @AshleyandTiffany101 I did that the first day I got my board because I didn't know how to slide. Lots of road rash haha

  • I tried this I flew away.

  • did it hurt when u hit the pole

  • Ok every time I try to slide I just turn around where I came from and don't slide one bit. Could anyone give me some tips please?

  • @chrischewning25 you probably need to be going faster and/or kick the board out harder with your back leg. I learned to slide on my heelside last night for the first time, and my friends kept telling me "speed is your friend" for slides. I heard what they were saying but it took me a while to build up speed because I was scared. You just have to commit to doing it and don't worry about the speed. Honestly, if you're going fast enough and you commit to the slide you'll do it.

  • Also, don't worry about falling... once your board starts sliding you slow down so quickly that even if you lose your balance and bail you will be going so slow you'll be fine.

  • evo?

  • did your ass get a road rash ..? i am not kidding ..this is serious ..!!! cause i tried and my ass ate shit ..!!

  • @allaroundkickass take a80 and up, it'll be perfect

  • If I'm not mistaken thats a landyachts Evo! Niiiiiice!

  • yo wtf my wheels make a weird ass noise like tht wen i do tht slide i have orangatang stimulus wheels 83a

can i get a answer please im trippin out

  • @scumgun its normal. after you wear them in more they will have a butterie slide

  • @scumgun otangs are louuuuuud get used to it lol. But it does go away after a while, er the noise is less noticeable haha

  • @allaroundkickass you need to but some sliding wheels.

  • Your heel-side slides (toes pointing forward) will be much more stylish and ultimately more controlled if you don't grab the board with your back hand. That's the Coleman way!

  • Your heel-side slides (toes pointing forward) will be much more stylish and ultimately more controlled if you don't grab the board with your back hand. Coleman style!

  • i thought you were NOT supposed to grab your board when u slide??

  • 1st. do u need special wheels to slide?? 2nd. do u have to have speed to slide?? can u ppl plz check out my channel and wat u think??? and please add me as a friend

  • awsome dude

  • learning....nah this guy has it Down!

  • I Tried This..... I Hit a Pole.......

  • @Eminem4Evarr YEAH! MY POLE!

  • that board with out any wheels or anything is like $300 right? if thats the board im thinking of

  • @TuKgamerS looks like an Evo.

  • and can you slide on abec 11 gumballs?

  • what wheels?

  • Evo. extra man points.

  • i watch it on 240p like a boss

  • cool shoes

  • and now you need to learn how to get back on after a slide

  • sounds like a terrifying car crash but great stops haha

  • Talk about Speed and Skill Kudos x 2

  • i do the killing always first :D

  • How can you tell if your weels are good for sliding

  • @sicknes96701 Small contact patch, higher hardness, just look at reviews. Yellow otang stims are good... theyre 86a

  • @sicknes96701 its usually about durometer, a good sliding wheel is 86a and it is also about the shape of the lip of the wheel, rounded wheels i find slide better as their isnt the square lip grabbing the floor and jump making you stop. unless thats what you want, its really down to personal preferance

  • @findthecomputerroom6 It all comes down to formula. 72a Flachbacks slide better than otang stimulus. If you give someone a sliding recomendation wheel it should be something like 81a flashbacks which are great wheels and only cost $35, A set of otangs is $68 new. There is not only a price difference, flashbacks wear more desirably, slide about five times smoother ,and you get more urethane on the wheel. Otangs core at 56mm so you only get 14mm of thane. Flashbacks core somewhere around 40mm.

  • it that an evo?

  • If you don't mind me asking, what wheels do you use? Any recommendations?

  • @ibanezplayer13 Not quite sure what wheels he is using, but I'd recommend Metro Motions. They are only 80a, but slides like butter due to their small contact patch and urethane mix. Search for Metro Motions on YouTube, and you'll find some review videos :-)

  • @ibanezplayer13 Orangatang stimulus yellows 86a for sliding. Otang purple stims are good too, not as slidy, but they give good slides when you want them to. I have purples on my apex

  • Where the hell did you find an empty parking garage?

  • @flameman1055 2 in the mornign any where in the world

  • @flameman1055 There was ONE car! ONE!

  • @SenorFormeer i think there are even 3 cars. you can see 2 around 0:32-0:33 and the 3rd one around 0:41-0:42.

but since this video is about longboarding and not cars: nice slides!

  • @flameman1055 And one in black and white too :O

  • @flameman1055

    A Good Charlotte concert.

  • @flameman1055 retirement home. old people cant drive so they probably ended up parking in that creek a mile away.

  • @flameman1055 On a sunday maybe?

  • @flameman1055 downtown

  • @flameman1055 at night

  • @flameman1055 right there

  • easy go to a hospital that has a parking garage go on the weekend at like 7 pm in the summer try it

  • event centers when theres not an even going on, we charge them all the time, and park and rides garages at night too

  • @flameman1055

He bought 2437 Parkingtickets at once. :-D

  • @flameman1055

They're not hard to find, if you're still looking for some. but you'll have to go in at night for one to be empty. Adrenaline helps

  • @flameman1055 1am ?

  • @flameman1055 its not empty, theres a truck

  • @flameman1055

go at night or on weekends

  • @flameman1055 ones for malls, like the mall of america one gets pretty empty at night.

  • does that screw up the wheels much? i feel like it would destroy mine!

  • @FLiPtutt17 it depends how hard they are, the harder the wheel, the less chance you will get flat spots

  • On your frontsides, try not grabbing your rail. It seems like a good idea to hold on, but your keeping pressure on your outside wheels which could end badly haha. Just slide on your front hand and keep the back one in the air. Not bad for learning tho!

  • did you get risers for your DH race when you first got it? cause whenever i try to slide the side or edge of my bored gets scraped?

  • He's using a Landyatchz DH race

I've got one, good board for bombing a hill. Sucks at carving though compared to my 9two5

  • what kind of wheels do you need to slide

  • @elemint7 round ones.

  • @applepiewithtoast thanks

  • @elemint7 What I mean is that you can slide with all wheels =) The harder the easier. It's even easier if the wheel have a rounded lip. I have a pair of orangatang in heat and I slide all over the place.

  • Haha fast it would suck if u hit a car

  • ive got a dexter not sure if its a cruiser board or longboard can u slide on any wheel and board?

  • do u need special wheels to slide?

  • which board 're you using - flexdex or landyachtz better ?
