ricers are cool in their own rite (not the gaudy lime green fuckers with the fake wing, but the real jap. cars). Will they ever be able to compete with the likes of these? Chances are, no. But that's not the point, The point is to take youre car, what ever you can afford, and make it faster than cars of the same class.

When I use the term "ricer", it's directed to the gawdy, over decaled, big ass wing, coffee can muffler import performance posers. Tuners are the real deal and NOT the same thing. I have MUCH respect for the tuners. I'm into hot rods. Ricers are the rat rod of the Hot Rod world. Build whatever you like, but wasting money on a pretender is waaaaay stupid.

ah see. Here (in Oregon) People tend to call every import car a "ricer", I hate it! I build cars, I've built, or helped build, everything from honda's, to funny cars. And then i drive alot of the cars i build, and race them at PIR.

Sounds cool. The thing about the ricers and rat rodders is that they give a VERY bad rep to the guys who are legit. People that are unfamiliar with the hobby of going fast, see that crap, because of their numbers, and assume they are representative of the hobby. For every REAL hot rodder or tuner, there are 50 ricers or rat rodders. Building shitty cars and sometimes killing people with them. They suck and I'm not affraid to tell them here or to their faces.

I share youre hate for ricers, but alot of rat rods, The ones that arnt too ratty. i kinda like some of those. Atleast with the rat rods, there's alot of time and work that goes into those. Z-ing the frame, chop&channele, ect. with a ricer, they just half ass lower them, with some chezey rims, and a fart can muffler.

Check it out and see what you think. In the end, it's all up to opinion. I just happen to take hot rodding very serious and so do the people I associate with.

I have a 31 ford coupe low budget car I hate when people call it a rat rod. I built the car 100 percent 40 drums,droped i-beam,genie wheels,everthing old school. black paint slick ass glass and people still call it a rat rod its anything but ratty looking.
