The majority of CEO's are smart unlike yourself, and receive the majority of their compensation based on stock options, preferred shares, etc. to avoid paying income taxes on this revenue. If they were only compensated via salary they would be subject to the top tax bracket which I believe is around 35%. I rest my case because the average secretary is taxed more than 18%!!!
That still doesn't mean that the secretary is taxed more than the CEO. And even if it's true that most CEOs receive their compensation through stock options that still isn't salary, and as such it should be kept at a lower tax rate. The CEOs aren't the only ones that feel the impact of a high capital gains tax. And remember that without capital, there is no investment. Bottom line, there is a reason that capital gains isn't as heavily taxed as income. And fty, most executives do receive a salary

albrock87... that is an absolute fact you fool! The capital gains tax under President Bush was decreased to 18%. The majority of CEO's are smart unlike yourself, and receive the majority of their compensation based on stock options, preferred shares, etc. to avoid paying income taxes on this revenue. If they were only compensated via salary they would be subject to the top tax bracket which I believe is around 35%. I rest my case because the average secretary is taxed more than 18%!!!

That still doesn't mean that the secretary is taxed more than the CEO. And even if it's true that most CEOs receive their compensation through stock options that still isn't salary, and as such it should be kept at a lower tax rate. The CEOs aren't the only ones that feel the impact of a high capital gains tax. And remember that without capital, there is no investment. Bottom line, there is a reason that capital gains isn't as heavily taxed as income. And fty, most executives do receive a salary

Um... that's impossible. Taxes up to each bracket are paid at that bracket's value, only that income which exceeds to the next bracket receives the higher tax rage. So up to a certain point, you also paid the 20s and 30s brackets and only that amount over did you pay the 40s.
Before you start claiming knowledge of taxes, you should at least figure out how they work.
