  • @rdc1783 u own him dude

  • the sound kinda look like 777 engine

  • It needs a bigger tail and bigger/longer bubble and raked wing tips. Then she'll be ready. Maybe wider wings like in the superhornet.

  • 747 still the best jumbo jet ever!

  • the most beautiful aircraft in the world...i love the engine sounds...

  • A thing of beauty

  • The 747-8I is wayyyyyyyyyyy more beautiful than the A380.

  • The new 747-8 is a good looker but at the end its still a 747 which again has been stretched for airlines..Great aircraft. Problem is though i personally thing they should have put more effort in selling the 747-8 intercontinental rather than the Freighter version.. I think airbus have done a better job but thats just me..No offense to 747 lovers. Hope the in Future more will buy them, atm it dont really look to good.

  • Look at it a 0:45. You can't honoustly say that is pretty. It doesn't seem proportioned right. It seems to long. You can clearly tell that it is a stretch. I hope it will look better on the passenger version (wich i believe will have a longer upper deck if i'm not mistaken).

BTW this is not an invitation for people to yell and call me an idiot just because i have one point of critice. Just look at the plane at 0:45 and givee you honoust unbiased opinion.

  • @streetstream It's a stretch that Boeing did to create the -8 series.

  • sounds loud. im still team airbus, but i love boeings 777.

  • sounds loud.

  • there was some thing hangs on the tail of it

  • 40 years of service and still the prettiest birdie in the sky! Yours is bigger, but ours is better.

  • He applicated autobrake MAX?

  • 2:41 Look at the front landing gear go up and down.

I wonder if they use MacPherson Shocks :-)

  • Nice! RTO testing seems to be...

  • Don't know if anyone has asked this question, but: What is that "doo-hickey" hanging by a cable from the aft portion of the vertical stabilizer?

  • @mmichaeldonavon good question, but I believe they use it for testing purposes :-)

  • LONG LIVE BOEING

  • Boeing has always built planes better than airbus and they will always , Airbuses computers just fail all of the time and its retarted, LONG LIVE BOEING WHICH THEY WILL LOL

  • I LOVE 747 FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So beautiful!!

  • the engines sounds are similar to the sounds of GE-90's of 777's .

  • @HDOnlive

They are since GEnx are based from GE-90 from the triple 7s

  • wow! great video, I love the 747. It looks so majestic

  • you hear that engines screaming? that's boeing's pride and the hard working employees not the union..

  • Lolz i see smoke... :)

  • whoa thats long as *** is it bigger than a380... obviously in length but can it fit more pssengers

  • @madzane94 nope

  • that thing must be heavy..

  • I wonder if I can get a good deal for the current Air Force One when it's replaced with the Intercontinental version of this beauty.

  • totally cool!!!!!

  • I hope that VS orders these! And if so, I'll be right seat!

  • Awesome

  • still no match for the a380 ;)

  • amazing! what a beautiful plane

  • Sounds just like the GE-90...Noisy actually.

  • @VIR092

Wise Guy - it is loud becaus ethere are 4 of them - LOL.

For the YouTubers out there, this is a GEnx-2B, based on the GE90-94B series which is why it sounds like a 777 GE90-115B. This engine is about HALF as powerful though producing approx 55-75,000 lbf (Pound Foot) of thrust. The GE90-115B produces about 115,000lbf. The GEnx-2B is also used on the 787, altho' Rolls Royce was the roll out customer. However, the Trent 1700 by Rolls Royce will NOT be offered on the 747-8.

  • simply amazing. the 747-8 is the best plane ever build. better than 380 or 787. this is the future!!!

  • amazing brakes.... and great sound

  • I LOVE THE SOUND! GE90-115b FTW

  • @cnknguyen

It is actually a GEnx-2B, producing 63,800 (pound foot of thrust) lbf (or 284 kN) - which is about HALF the power of the GE90-115B. It sounds loud because there are 4 of them! The 787 uses the same engine.

  • oh yea thats right, i forgot its the GEnx...still they sound rad.

  • @cnknguyen

They do sound rad, dont they? I cant wait to fly on the NEW Queen of the Skies. She look gorgeous.

  • Antonov and Airbus can build them as big as they want, but America's 747 and C-5 aircraft will always be my favorite big jets for life.

  • but european planes are widely better than american planes

  • @blooba974 ..how do ya figure that sports fan?????

  • @blooba974 why do say that ?

  • @blooba974 I have nothing against Airbus and Antonov. I have two 1:500 scale Herpa AN-225 and A380 models and they are among my most prized possessions. The 225 and 380 are very big planes and I love very big planes. The C-5 and 747 are my favorites because my love for large aircraft originated from them, that's all. Airbus and Antonov can build them as big as they want and have. I'm always excited to see what they could build next.

  • Well, given the specifications of the new 747-800, the C-5 has lost another position in the world's largest aircraft list. With the first flight of the 747-8, here is the new list: Wingspan specs

    AN-225 (1988) 290 ft.

    A380-800 (2005) 261 ft.

    AN-124 (1982) 240 ft.

    747-800F (2010) 224 ft.

C-5 (1968) 222 ft. If it weren't for the last two aircraft on this list, (original 747-100 model) the first three aircraft on this list probably would have never taken to the skies.

  • This aircraft is powered by the GEnx, the future engine for the 787!

  • still a beauty, but this is not something I want to see as boeing's response to Airbus! (slightly larger body and wider wingspan) what I really want to see is a new model, but economy rules...

  • Boeing is actually working on a replacement. It is part of what is known as the Yellowstone project. The 787 is part of that project, being the Y2 of Y1, Y2, and Y3. Y1 will be the eventual replacement for the venerable 737 series, and the Y3 will be the 747 replacement. The 787 (Y2) is replacing the 767 and is a sort of blend for the excellent 777.

  • Those engine spool up sound sweet, can't wait to hear full throttle.

  • A380 is muuuuuuuuuuch better technichal and constructional... sorry americans.. :)

  • Fuck you, Airbus is a cheat if you compare to Boeing

  • @nonoai2

Now.., now.., no need for that kind of language! We have the facts to back it up, they dont.

  • @heavyk187

Its just pathetic to so easily spot a jealous European socialist and their hate for America and her ingenuity.

Sir, maybe Germanys airline Lufthansa knows something you dont..?

They have ordered 20 Boeing 747-800 Intercontinental with options with 20 more. Total of 40 brand new aircrafts your government sponsored Airbus didnt get.

    God Bless the U.S.A.

  • beautiful plane, a icon, is it bigger than the older 747's?

  • The 747-8 is about 19 feet longer than the original 747. This new design also makes it even 10 feet longer than the Airbus 380.

As of June 2009, 1,416 Boeing 747s aircraft have been built with 107 on order. When A380 passes that mark then you can call it King of the sky and not before.

In 2009 only 4 new A380 was ordered. At that rate it will take you 350 years to catch up with Boeings 747 programs Good Luck!

  • @LibsNightmare 737 was produced in bigger numbers. The spitfire too. How about the mig 21? Wich one is the king of the skies?

Get my drift. It's not about numbers, it's about size.

  • @streetstream It's not about size, it's the quality of a product that's been in production for 40 + years

  • @LibsNightmare Quality is over quantity dumbass, A380 has something the 747 will never have, European Elegance, full double deck, zero fatality safety record, more passenger capacity, lower fuel consumption per passenger, and fly by wire safety systems. Airbus has much less fatal crashes than Boeing for same operating time frame. You're just a broken hearted American Boeing fanboy can't handle the truth that the A380 stomped the 747 in safety and innovation, so go cry to someone who cares.

  • @JundaComputersGmbH not really about the zero fatality safety record. First off, the first B747 was made in the 1970s. The first A380 was made in 2007. The first few incidents with the B747 were mostly human error, poor maintenance or terrorist attacks. Since then, training and regulations have been revamped many times before the first A380 was constructed. Also, the time from blueprints to actual production was significantly longer for the A380. Yes I give quality to the A380, because its newer

  • @LibsNightmare Lol, but one thing I actually agree with you, however I think A380 is expensive and that's why most of the country don't buy...

But B747-8 and A380 are both great and safe planes...

  • No more three slotted flaps?

  • This one is for Cargolux.

  • Poor brakes... :( They must be feeling so hot!!! Lol. Nice plane... it looks better than the A380. It is sexiest I must say...

  • The Boeing 747, all variants, will and always be the Queen of the Skies! A380 can suck it!

  • @anthony2154 I said that the 747 is the sexiest double decker... It will always be. From the 707 to the 747 there has been a huge progress. One engine of the 747 is more powerful that the 4 engines of the 707!

  • Longest airplane in the world yet :)

  • @sloppiexx

Longest COMMERCIAL airliner in the world. ;) The An-225 is still longer.

  • Thanks for the correction :)

I thought I included that word in there =/

  • Cool, can't wait to see it fly soon !!!

  • Nice clip!

  • God I love this Aircraft.!!!!!!

  • Anyone know the call sign for this aircraft .. so i can track on monday ? the 787 is boe2. whats the 747 8?

  • NICE

  • Sorry to disappoint Starboard, but the 777 engines are 50% more powerful.

  • Well that is true, but he is right about the sound, it is totally awesome and 777ish.

  • one engine is 50 percent more powerfull? but if it has 4 engines dosent it give the 747 more power? or am i wrong?

  • Shows that when you get the basic design 'right' (and back in 1968 no less!) you can continually tweak and add new technology as it's invented (glass cockpit w/ the -400, now new engines and wing), and the plane just gets better, and better, and better...

  • thx for this great video!

  • and this is only the freighter the passenger version is even better

  • now this is a beautiful plane fuck the A380

  • YEA MAN A380 is a peice of shit

  • wicked beautiful airplane! wow.

  • And awesome catch of that braking test. The engine sounds like triple 7 engines on steroids! Those babies on the 748 are HUGE!

Bring on the 747-8I, the Pax version!

  • Beauty of a plane!!!
