  • omg, i cant breath. laughing so hard xD

  • "Sweat rot under the old armpit" - Bloody brilliant!!!

  • There are too many good scenes from this series and just when I think I know where they are going they go somewhere else. Somewhere better!

  • How come I don't remember this! Which episode is this scene from?

  • *she does!*

  • This is when you can finally use the AbFab line, "You can drop the attitude. You only work in a shop."

  • quite touching at the end :)

  • you're a hunch

  • its funny coz shop keepers don't earn jack anyway

  • had the same thing happen to me in london..fucking snobs.

  • bahahahaha........'sweat rot under the old armpit'.....

  • Can I get it? *shakes his head no* ...Ye :)

  • She's NOBODY.

  • lol they weren't expensive enough

  • 3.08 Utter perfection the look on Rickies Face LOL!!!

  • Haha, I love how he's trying to be the white knight and it completely backfires.

  • THE WOMAN IN THE SHOP IS JEAN ALEXANDER ...MET HER SHE IS AWSOME

  • 2:02 is bloody brilliant

  • God, Gervais is in rare form here in terms of acting. Christ.

  • it's not about the dress, it's about giving Maggie her moment. he made her feel special by squashing the smile of that snob's face. worth every dime.

  • the dress is gorgeous but anyone who put anything into the creation or purchase of a 2,000 dollar dress needs to be shot. I wouldn't spend that much on a single article of clothing if I was a billionare. you could feed a fucking village with that. it's pathetic. materialistic. insecure.

  • @NoTrueFace1 Humanity has hope yet

  • @NoTrueFace1 I completely agree.

  • @NoTrueFace1 lol everyone likes brand name clothing or some expensive possession. it's part of our social conditioning, we want to have something better than the other person. so if you can afford it i don't see what that would mean you're insecure or pathetic. everyone is materialistic to some degree, or else all you'd wear is slacks and a white shirt from walmart. besides, being a billionaire and going to billionaire parties you'd need something more expensive than a 40$ dress.

  • being utterly shaped by social conditioning is the definition of pathetic. You're supposed to think and make choices, and define your life and your self by your own will rather than society's.I know that we all have flaws, but spending enough money to feed a village on a piece of cloth is way beyond a minor flaw unless you have a darn good reason

If I was a billionaire the last thing i'd do is put MORE chains on myself. If my way of life isn't allowed at your party i throw my own.

  • @NoTrueFace1 thats what social conditioning is, you're being shaped by the standards of society. it may sway to one side or the other but being materialistic is apart of it. you can't not be shaped by it unless you live on the moon. what do you think billionaires do anyway? you realize that short of winning the lottery you have to work pretty darn hard to get that kind of money and you don't get that by poorly presenting yourself. why cant you buy the 2500$ dress and donate 25,000$ instead?

  • @le2key

perhaps no one short of a monk could avoid all social influence, but to keep it out of your major decisions and the direction of your life? that's certainly do-able.

Yes I'm aware that making money requires a certain degree of spending money and acting a certain way, but you can get a good suit for significantly less than $2500

  • @NoTrueFace1

You could feed a villiage with food, not money. Technically, buying luxury items that aren't produced in a way that exploits out-of-country labour bolsters the economy of the country in which it was produced and bought, making the countriy's money more valuble and food less expensive to give to starving people. So if you research the clothes you buy and purchase stuff that's made with in-country materials and labour, you're a part of the solution.

  • True to a degree, but that sort of thinking eventually leads to an economy entirely based on useless crap and there is a certain point where such an economy falls apart. money is just paper if it doesn't represent something of practical value. If all of our jobs are based on pleasure or politics or manipulating the system instead of actual productive jobs, then we aren't producing value and the machine will run out of fuel

Also, growth of your own country over another one isn't net human gain

  • @NoTrueFace1 Although I agree (and I do) with everything you said...... it did strike me that this clip, being a comedy, which whilst indubitably full of pathos, might not be the best forum for your comment.....

We are really trying to..... have a laugh. "Are you having a laugh ? Is he having a laugh ?"

  • @Avidcomp

Pathos! I can't recall the last time I heard that word come out of someone *else's* mouth. That is intriguing, though your writing style is quite odd

This may not be the best forum to find eager ears, but then again I'm not nearly as worried about open minded people. They generally do pretty well. So my message is best spread amoung the uneducated, indoctrinated, and so on. At any rate my original post was hardly a big serious affair. "Why not?" sums up my feelings on it.

  • @NoTrueFace1 Fair enough. But then I shouldn't think refering to your audience as uneducated will ingratiate you.

  • @Avidcomp

well if they've read to this point i've acheived about all i can. I certainly don't consider an "extras" video to be strictly the domain of the uneducated anyway. It is not "when the wistle blows". This is just random spread of ideas rather than targetted.

  • The irony is that now, in real life, RG could afford to buy a £2k dress every day!!

    He's loaded, innit?!

  • God Maggie is such a dumb shit!

  • Was that Jim from the Office?

  • That's a sales trick ! n wait a min : Ricky's a hero !???? wats wrong !

  • ricky is so great. he knows how to act amazingly.

    "do you do celebrity discounts"

"I dont know who she is"

    "she's nobodyyy!" hahahaha

  • I hate when snooty shops give you that condescending look when you walk in. God, I've love to smack it off their face.

  • @moxichick67 i know what ya mean lmao just feel like bashin them lol

  • I would honestly slap the bitch in the face yelling are you cazy and walk out and never speak to her again

  • please (fluent speakers of English) help me... 3:54 - 3:58 (something like that). I can hear: Sorry, did I ask for a critique... (then I get lost). Please help!!! thank you :)

  • @ewaniek "shall i come around the store and say u havent swept up right..unbelievable"

  • @snentz - thank you so much!!!!!!!! Now that you've said it I can hear it :) but before I just could not figure it out!!! THANKS!!!!! :))

  • @ewaniek

don't feel bad. i'm american and I can't quite make it out

  • £2,500 for one dress, fucking mental. That's the sum total all the cloths I've owned in my entire life.

  • @Experiment47 I hope you're 12.

  • LMAO @ 2:07

  • The thing is, this is a fairly good imitation of designer shop people. Now, 'Pretty Woman' is a pretty popular film- most have seen it, and nobody likes that stuck up shopgirl. So after having seen such a scene, doesn't it occur to real life shop people who act that way- they are now that bitch??

  • I'm surprised that 0 people out of people commented about Maggie's nipples in that dress.

It's a nice dress, but holy shoot, 2500?

  • @Archedgar Those aren't nipples, it's just how the fabric folds.

  • @Forscythe80 Well now, shows how much *I* know about dresses!

    /dumbass

  • Ashley Jensen is just funny...

  • This scene is hilarious

    "Don't you do celebrity discounts?"

  • If u dont want it dont hav it ! hahhaahha

  • "We´ve all learnt a lesson today" rofl

  • I always took Andy's reaction when Maggie comes out wearing the dress like he's still annoyed about the price and can't let that go but also realizes that she looks very lovely in it at the same time yet can't admit it, and it all shuts him up. It's in that longer-than-you'd-expect-given-how-annoyed-he-is look gives her when she comes out. Could be wrong.

  • Why hasn't felt like that when walking into a expensive/trendy shop?

  • worth every penny. she looked great in that dress

  • love it

  • The way Ricky says '£2500' is perfect.

  • I'm sure the shop window says the shops name is "CUNT". Seems fitting...

  • it says Cunningham...

  • try shopping in Rome, the chanel and gucci store workers dont even look up at you

  • Because they know your not a regular....no offense

  • shop assistant is just bitter because she doesn't have tits.

go on... watch it again and check.

  • kind of unrealistic.. a shop assistant would never say that to a costumer!!!

  • but thats whats good about extras an ricky's comedy in general, its very obvious and also quite sublte, and its the combination of the two.....is whats making you wanna look it up on youtube!!..ya silly fuckwit cunt....lolfest

  • Who gets so wound up over a youtube comment...??

    wow you're an angry loser.

  • Yea an what retard puts her entire name on youtube....I cant wait to see your info

  • that shop assistant is such an arrogant cunt..brilliant...memories of saville row

  • Are you having a laugh?

  • i dont think they should of bought the dress......

  • Maggie does look extremely well on that dress though. For a moment there the price was worth it.

  • @ghariboi Please tell me English is not your first language...

  • not worth it...i would rather you stuck it on if anything

  • "I guess we ve all leanrnt a lesson today" lmao

  • HAAHAHAHAA

  • I would not pay that money on any clothes/shoes and I'm a woman! NO WAY!!!

  • A very funny scene!

Seriously though, who, in their right mind, would pay £600 for a pair of shoes!?

  • A woman

  • haha good point XD

  • They're.. men's shoes.

  • A rich capitalist who thinks all wealth belongs to them.

  • I wouldnt, although i just bought a pair for 230 euros, which with the way the pound is going will probably soon be the same,....lol

  • lol yep
