if you guys are wondering about why the commentary is so wierd its because the weather was so bad the power at monaco was going on and off. so sometimes the commentators got cut off
People go on about Murray for his mistakes and so on, but that overshadows the fact he was a genuinely good and insightful commentator. He noticed Bellof's charge when someone like James Allen would just mumble through the order.
wow, waves crashing in Monaco, my mom probably watched this while I was floatin in the belly with my dad callin them eurofags, dont understand how 2 opposites made me
This was the best race in Monaco at all time and care but the most exciting in the history of F1, frustration for some, joy for others ..! We see an E. Irvine that although he took the blue flag will never step a sedi D. Coulthard, J. Alessi to boot a victory by the veto, and that O. Panis won his only race in the 1st and the F1 ..! I remember when I saw her live, full emocion ..! .. Congratulations on this material!
Murray being muffled!!! lol and then the smooth Des Lynam comes in, I half expected him to commentate for a sec and then thought, ermmmm perhaps not! Loving this very much :-)
In that time it was that way, that blue flags weren't only a signal for lapped cars, but also for every other car who is attacked by a faster car. Later in the race they even show blue flags to Prost, I believe, as somebody wants to unlap himself.
schopfheim91 is wrong. Blue flag are waved to them because of so much water on the road thus blue flag, just like when the oil on the road, they wave a black flag with red dot or something. I know because i used to be a marshall in 1990 Macau GP.
That was F3 though, blue flag in F1 meant at the time "a driver is looking to overtake", nowadays it just means that a driver is about to be lapped by a faster car and must let is pass.

Shame there wasn't an onboard camera on Bellof's car, would be amazing to see the progress he made! He would have been a World Champion for sure.

What a problematic time for the BBC. Loss of picture for Walker & Hunt and then loss of sound from them.

Interesting to see the white lines seem to be there. They always seem to burn them off nowadays
reptongeek 3 years ago
Yes, just because they are an unnecessary risk for safety.
schopfheim91 3 years ago
Well probably they began to burn them off after this race, because Mansell said that he did his half-spin after losing it on the white lines.
