I used to watch this channel every day and seeing Margaret Pritchard again is incredibly nostalgic. Ditto the closedown sequence, they screened it for something like 10-15 years at least...
Sorry for late reply lol. Yes as well as Margaret appearing on HTV West, I do remember Arfon Haynes Davies making several appearance on West too back in the late 80's and early 90's.
@TheWhizz2009 I recognise her!......... So thats how DI Alex Drake ended her days! She left CID and Gene Hunt, changed her name to Margeret, and went on to announce for HTV! Lol... There is a resemlblence though! Either way, uber-hot!
Funny how they announce Moonraker as the big boxing day premire, and then future Bond girl Maryam d'Abo appears in the ad break (or atleast it looks like her).
The announcer seems drunk :) Too much of the Christmas sherry, perhaps?
Yes it is Maryam D'Abo. I remember seeing Moonraker at the flicks in 1979, and it's a surprise that it only took 3 years to reach our TV screens. We had to wait 5 years for most films back then.
Someone should adjust the Horizontal Hold on that Currys ad.
Yes, and look how little time it takes for a film to go from cinema to DVD these days. It's hardly worth going to the flicks anymore, especially as it costs a bomb (at least where I live, anyway!)
I have only seen ONE movie at the cinema this year. That was the god-awful "Eden Lake". It was enough to put anyone got to the pictures for good! I rent films mostly now, as its also too darn expensive at the flicks, once you add in the food and drink. Plus these multiplexes don't really instill in me the 'event' feeling I used to get when going to a 3 screen Odeon or ABC cinema many moons ago.
I remember this ! my Ex Mrs thought I was nuts cause I used to stand up and sing "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau" until it was finished, and then run to the toilet with my fingers in my ears shouting " Cymru am Byth " while they played God save the Queen
I remember that Christmas and Boxing day were in 1982 in the weekend, the break started at December 24 after I had a 3 Kings play in the first grade.

Ah the lovely Margaret Pritchard! I remember her as she did some continuity for HTV West too back around 1984-1988.
Oh happy days of regional ITV!

Did any other Wales announcers do the odd stint for the West?
