@mikemorrison281 Mike, I think I need to get a different battery. This one is great for cold starting a car, but lacks the longevity of a deep cycle battery. Next step will be a deep cycle battery. Other than that it is pretty good for running lights, charging AA batteries, cell phones, etc. Hope that helps. Thanks.

You can buy a solar battery charger. Mine charges D. C, AA, AAA. I got it on ebay for $26 with shipping. I bought a trickle charger for my car and a 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter which allows any appliance to be plugged in. It makes your car a power plant for small appliances. If you can't get gas, your car still has value.

@YoungAndPrepping While standard flooded-cell lead-acid batteries do indeed offgas hydrogen while charging, gel cells -like Survive2Day is using in this video- do not.

I have the same panel. I know it puts out 1 amp in direct sunlight, how long does that take to charge that car battery??

M question is, how much do the parts that get consumed in a solar power system cost? I mean, you do have to replace the battery every now and then right?
