You left out Tchaikovsky! You might not dig Tchaik as much but he had a huge influence on Shostakovich. He's also my favorite 19th century symphonist :)

You probably are too stupid just to cope with the sound of something different to the recording you've acquainted yourself with. this place looks like Barbican hall, London, UK, the orchestra is therefore London Symphony Orchestra (I recognise some of the musicians) but the conductor seems to be Valery Gergiev (which is surprising).

Gergiev is the LSO principal conductor. And it is the LSO, well spotted.

No,it is not correct. Sir Colin Davis is still the pincipal chief conductor of the LSO. Gergiev conducts the orchestra only as a guest conductor for a series of concerts
