Hello, I'm practicing sipalki-do and it seemed to me very interesting martial art Krav Maga, but I doubt the video genre at minute 2.24. I'm not so sure that only one blow with his open hand to the bridge of the nose can shake off an opponent. This is my humble opinion, without any intention to disqualify your style, which I found very interesting and worthy of respect as any other martial art. Greetings.

No one claims Krav Maga is unique or not based upon other arts. Emi Lichtenfeld who originated the art studid jiu jitsu, judo, aikido, karate, and boxing, and Krav Maga started out as a combination of these arts, but techniques from other arts ahve ben incorporated into Krav maga since Emi's death.
I claim no expertise in Krav Maga, and there may be erroprs in what I have written.

I think Brazilian ju-jutsu is something special. I do jujutsu and it is full of punches and kicks. I just meant that Krav Maga borrowed most techniques from Ju-jutsu. But Krav maga seems quite efficient too.
it is ture there is a good chance you wont have to defend yourself in your life but when it does happen you are ready to stop it. this is the real stuff.
so someone coming at you with a knife of bat or even from behind is not real. please discribe some "real" situations that are not depicted in this video.
Getting robbed on the street on night with either gun or knife. Walking in the wrong neighbourhood with gangs and such, that will beat you up just for being there.
Or car accident and the other guyn get's pissed off cause he can't afford it, and loses his mind, and starts attacking you.
And some people are just crazy. I know a guy who stabbed a guy in the arm with a knife, cause he bumped into him at school.

Haha, I live in Norway in a town with only 10 000 people. Very peaceful, but I hear about stuff happening in Oslo. So I know it happens. But it's very unlikely that it will happen to YOU. Especially if you're the kind of guy who doesn't walk alone in the city at night, and stay out of trouble :P
I see the beauty of Krav Maga, Systema and many other systems and arts. At the end of it all..Its a philosophy..We are all different body types, with different strengths and weaknesses. I see its innovation with the conservation of motion and naturalism....in the end, accept what is personally useful and discard what is personally not. Avoiding any situation is the best, but when all else fails we just have to defend ourselves. Hopefully get away from it. (I'm from neither school of thought.)
just thinking... at 4:20 at this situation if someone stopped their car in front of you, wouldn't normally jump out of the car as well by the time u see the weapon thats when u get out and the person would attack..
90% of the black belt trained girls (and men to) are no where near ready for the level of violence of a real attack. Women should carry some kind of weapon, but even then people are rarely ready for an attack. People who have the natural mind to fight like animals often beat trained fighters who don't. A car key stab in the eye is better than grion pain. You have to be mean enough to do it. Girls should be careful about wandering into situations beacuse they feel "trained" (men too)
I'm completly agree with you, we must to stay accustomed to the pain of a punch in the face.
And keep the head cold. Don't throw punches like crazy, is better stay in defense all time, but when you throw a hit you do it well and impact in some important side.
And I think that the best art for self defense in streets is boxing.

yeah,you are right. but i think a lot of this type of video aims to show you quite clearly the techniques. believe me the actual practice in training sessions is a lot messier, much more real life, especially as you get more experienced.
yes true therefore krav maga has developed techniques which make sure, that when you attack you attack one, therefore eliminating the foe, and then you escape. The biggest mistake is then staying to challange him or her
once your opponent is down you should get away... and if you are fighting against someone more experienced than you.. then you have a problem no matter what martial art you learn!
There can many reasons to attack someone that has a rifle. You need a rifle to carry out your mission, so you have to take it from someone who has one. Or a guard that was not suppose to be there surprised you. As far as the guard goes if someone closed on you to quick for you to use your weapon any other way.
If you're in an area with civilians you wouldn't be able to open fire. If you were, say, controlling a riot, unarmed people might be attacking armed officials, and they wouldn't want to shoot....
A lot of this stuff is about having the will to act though, if you havnt got the will to act you are still going to get knifed or shot, thats why it is supposed to prepare you for real life situations.
I remember a situation that happened to me 2 years ago when a guy on a train coming back from Birmingham to where i live a man pulled a knife on me and he didnt demand money or anything he just kept swearing and swiping so i assumed he was drugged or something.
Anyhow i was pretty piss scared but when he rushed at me suddenly my automatic reaction was to do the same as at 2:35 and kick him straight in the crotch. It actuyally worked lol he went down and i sat on him till the police came.
It is true that Krav Maga is not pretty, it's not graceful, it's not for showing. It's down right dirty street fighting where there are no rules. "It's not about the belt or a title, it's about survival."
Yeah that's millitary combat training, and I swear thats what Krav Maga is too, they've just stolen the most lethal moves from all combat sports and added a few dirty moves that arent allowed in any competitive sport.
It is military composed. Evolved so that soldiers, with limited movement capacity due to heavy equipment can perform simple, yet powerful proceedures to bring down insurgents at close quarter.
We train it, as an experimental orientated system, on level of sergeant.
Thing about this system, is that its got nothing to do with competetive combat, like judo, karatee etc.
All about neutralising with few powerful moves, keeping the momentom high, and your opponant off guard.

Krav maga is not a martial art. Is "hurt the guy as fast and as strong as you can". Judo is a really boring martial art (i'm a green belt but i gave up). And probably it won't help you in a street. But the truth is that if someone has a gun, you give him your phone and your wallet and let him go, you don't try to fight with him unless you're a complete asshat.
I know, in a lot of the videos, they emphasize that you SHOULD give the attacker your wallet, watch, phone, etc. However, when he tells you to put your hands up, you've just lost any bargaining power you have, and it is also the best time to disarm him, control the weapon, and run.
Just finished my basic instructor in Krav Maga and thought it was brilliant. The group who did it came from a whole range of styles and at the beginning always went back to them under pressure or just froze but at the end of the training we all reacted really naturally with speed and accuracy under pressure.
i know someone who knows ikido or was it ninjitsu who got his ass kicked on the street by some motorcycle guy who knew taekwondo cause he didn't know in advance that the motor guy knew taekwondo, he eventually beat the motor guy but got really injured. taekwondo can be really dangerous even for martial artists, that's why you have to always be prepared for the worst. krav maga adds force and precision to your basic instincts, that's why it's important on the streets and real-life situations...
at 0:58 he says its a israel matrial arts, but ive heard that it was created in hungary and czechoslovakia in the 1930s, and the israel army is now using it.
Did you not know that the knuckle breaks usually during fights because of how weak it is? Either you have knuckles of steel or you have not been in a real fight. Using the side of the hand has the same technique as a man using a hammer. The techniques them selves are practical and will probably take you down in a few seconds.

Do you even understand the point of Krav Maga? It's not to kill, although it quite easily has that ability. It's so you can run. It teaches disarmament of all weapon types, as well as immobilizing your enemy. It doesn't take very much force to crush the windpipe or break a trigger finger, especially when you twist the gun around.
Always run from a knife you can't get stabbed if they can't get close enough. You rush a gun cos you're not gonna outrun the bullet anyway. May as well be shot in the chest as the back.

video is absolute nonsense and titled fraudulently. there is NO full contact. many techniques shown are done incorrectly, like when mounted woman simply rolls much larger attacker off effortlessly. no leg trap, nothing. these videos are dangerous.
there are many styles of fighting in the world, but I still can't see the advantage over the others that kravmaga has...I think I don't see it because it's goal is to be simple, and therefore the techniques are subtle...but in the end, it looks like basic self-defense.
Most martial arts have basic simple attacks and defences too them. But it is the fancy technique that separates them. Some arts are about close range, others long range, some ground, and others simpleness. Where an art lack a techinque, you should look for it in another. If a art has kicks n punches add grappling and if it's grappling add pucnhes and kicks. Plus Krav Maga prepares you mentally like no other art will.
Krav Maga has an advantage because instead of wasting your time twisting his arm behind his back, all you have to do is nuetralize the attack and counterattack, and get the hell out. It's something that's completely realistic.
Great demonstration of the system. Now that I'm done with school and have more time on my hands, I want to start learning this. The only problem I saw was halfway through, everyone with a handgun racked the slide after drawing it out of their holsters. I guess some people do it that way, but personally I like having a round in the chamber, it's a lot easier and quicker to flick the safety off while drawing than to draw and then chamber a round...
Well think of it like this (I am no expert at Kravmaga Although I have a lot of Martial arts and firearm experience) it may be the attackers gun and you may not know how to work the gun or they may not even have a round in the chamber. So if it is a auto pistol it is always great to rack the slide so you know you have a fresh round ready to go asap. Again I don't know everything there is to know about kravmaga or firearms but from my exp this is what they are trying to teach you.

In addition to this, some places do not allow security personnel to have a round up the spout. Also, on some types of pistols/holsters, pushing a holstered weapon down into the holster will actually make it so the weapon will misfire. That is why many if not all modern law enforcement personnel are trained to "tap, rack, ready" the weapon when you draw if someone has tried to grab it, which ejects the current round that may no longer be seated correctly.
this could also play in your advantage, as you said, you personally like tho have a round in the champer ready to go, what if, by some process, the agressor gets a hold of your weapon, will he expect a round in the chamber ready to go, likely yes, if you have an empty chamber, all he will hear is 'click'. Adds element of surprise to your advantage and gives you some time to get moving and take the weapon back from him. just a personal thought.

i go to a school called holly lodge ppl there come with knives and pistols and they attack anyone they see with wallets and phones or they attack for fun one geeza killed a girl for her psp i was attacked once by a guy with a pistol and 8 times by a knife i used these methods and i suvived i train with my dad because he used to do this its very usefull
I dont train Krav Maga, but I see that it seems to be very effective. However, in a real fight, nearly every defender is ready to use every weapon to defend himself and useing techniques to kick or punch to the groin or to finger jab the eyes etc. Thats a thing humans do unconsciously when in danger, so imo there is no need to train this but more the psychological aspect. Btw, calling it Counter Terrorist Defense is just a campaign, maybe the terrorism created by The US.

This is a quick demo video, its not going to have every defence in it. Go do some research on Krav.
Krav does teach you to run or give up the money if you think you will be safe in doing so. But if your fully trained in KM, you wont have too.

I remember a situation that happened to me 2 years ago when a guy on a train coming back from Birmingham to where i live a man pulled a knife on me and he didnt demand money or anything he just kept swearing and swiping so i assumed he was drugged or something.
Anyhow i was pretty piss scared but when he rushed at me suddenly my automatic reaction was to do the same as at 2:35 and kick him straight in the crotch. It actuyally worked lol he went down and i sat on him till the police came.

It is military composed. Evolved so that soldiers, with limited movement capacity due to heavy equipment can perform simple, yet powerful proceedures to bring down insurgents at close quarter.
We train it, as an experimental orientated system, on level of sergeant.
Thing about this system, is that its got nothing to do with competetive combat, like judo, karatee etc.
All about neutralising with few powerful moves, keeping the momentom high, and your opponant off guard.

Krav maga is not a martial art. Is "hurt the guy as fast and as strong as you can". Judo is a really boring martial art (i'm a green belt but i gave up). And probably it won't help you in a street. But the truth is that if someone has a gun, you give him your phone and your wallet and let him go, you don't try to fight with him unless you're a complete asshat.

I know, in a lot of the videos, they emphasize that you SHOULD give the attacker your wallet, watch, phone, etc. However, when he tells you to put your hands up, you've just lost any bargaining power you have, and it is also the best time to disarm him, control the weapon, and run.

Just finished my basic instructor in Krav Maga and thought it was brilliant. The group who did it came from a whole range of styles and at the beginning always went back to them under pressure or just froze but at the end of the training we all reacted really naturally with speed and accuracy under pressure.

i know someone who knows ikido or was it ninjitsu who got his ass kicked on the street by some motorcycle guy who knew taekwondo cause he didn't know in advance that the motor guy knew taekwondo, he eventually beat the motor guy but got really injured. taekwondo can be really dangerous even for martial artists, that's why you have to always be prepared for the worst. krav maga adds force and precision to your basic instincts, that's why it's important on the streets and real-life situations...

Did you not know that the knuckle breaks usually during fights because of how weak it is? Either you have knuckles of steel or you have not been in a real fight. Using the side of the hand has the same technique as a man using a hammer. The techniques them selves are practical and will probably take you down in a few seconds.

Do you even understand the point of Krav Maga? It's not to kill, although it quite easily has that ability. It's so you can run. It teaches disarmament of all weapon types, as well as immobilizing your enemy. It doesn't take very much force to crush the windpipe or break a trigger finger, especially when you twist the gun around.

there are many styles of fighting in the world, but I still can't see the advantage over the others that kravmaga has...I think I don't see it because it's goal is to be simple, and therefore the techniques are subtle...but in the end, it looks like basic self-defense.

Most martial arts have basic simple attacks and defences too them. But it is the fancy technique that separates them. Some arts are about close range, others long range, some ground, and others simpleness. Where an art lack a techinque, you should look for it in another. If a art has kicks n punches add grappling and if it's grappling add pucnhes and kicks. Plus Krav Maga prepares you mentally like no other art will.

Great demonstration of the system. Now that I'm done with school and have more time on my hands, I want to start learning this. The only problem I saw was halfway through, everyone with a handgun racked the slide after drawing it out of their holsters. I guess some people do it that way, but personally I like having a round in the chamber, it's a lot easier and quicker to flick the safety off while drawing than to draw and then chamber a round...

Well think of it like this (I am no expert at Kravmaga Although I have a lot of Martial arts and firearm experience) it may be the attackers gun and you may not know how to work the gun or they may not even have a round in the chamber. So if it is a auto pistol it is always great to rack the slide so you know you have a fresh round ready to go asap. Again I don't know everything there is to know about kravmaga or firearms but from my exp this is what they are trying to teach you.

In addition to this, some places do not allow security personnel to have a round up the spout. Also, on some types of pistols/holsters, pushing a holstered weapon down into the holster will actually make it so the weapon will misfire. That is why many if not all modern law enforcement personnel are trained to "tap, rack, ready" the weapon when you draw if someone has tried to grab it, which ejects the current round that may no longer be seated correctly.

this could also play in your advantage, as you said, you personally like tho have a round in the champer ready to go, what if, by some process, the agressor gets a hold of your weapon, will he expect a round in the chamber ready to go, likely yes, if you have an empty chamber, all he will hear is 'click'. Adds element of surprise to your advantage and gives you some time to get moving and take the weapon back from him. just a personal thought.

I dont train Krav Maga, but I see that it seems to be very effective. However, in a real fight, nearly every defender is ready to use every weapon to defend himself and useing techniques to kick or punch to the groin or to finger jab the eyes etc. Thats a thing humans do unconsciously when in danger, so imo there is no need to train this but more the psychological aspect. Btw, calling it Counter Terrorist Defense is just a campaign, maybe the terrorism created by The US.
