I have talked to Tea Party members and there is no doubt in my mind that a sizable percentage of them are racists. But then that is true for the general population of the USA as a whole, and no doubt it is a larger percentage of some political parties, just as it is a larger percentage in some areas of the country. Perhaps the largest percentage of racists are to be found among the overly religious professing, under educated, and mentally weak moral majority types. Nothing new there.

My brother and I were at a Tea Party rally in Maryland (99.9% white) and were appalled at some of the signs depicting President Obama as a monkey and one with a peeled banana photoshoped in his hand. I asked one couple "Where was the Tea Party during Bush's freefall spending?" and we were verbally attacked as "Anti-american" and " Kenyon lover"

I have talked to Tea Party members and there is no doubt in my mind that a sizable percentage of them are racists. But then that is true for the general population of the USA as a whole, and no doubt it is a larger percentage of some political parties, just as it is a larger percentage in some areas of the country. Perhaps the largest percentage of racists are to be found among the overly religious professing, under educated, and mentally weak moral majority types. Nothing new there.

My brother and I were at a Tea Party rally in Maryland (99.9% white) and were appalled at some of the signs depicting President Obama as a monkey and one with a peeled banana photoshoped in his hand. As to what Mrs. Garofalo says, I don't think too many people consider her to be a terribly credible source of knowledge of people's behavior. I do agree that the Tea Party and I right now have made an error with dignifying her comments with a response. I honestly didn't see anyone seeing her as anything more than an idiot.

I've given proof that the Tea Party was formed even before Obama had taken office, so he didn't HAVE ANY policies for them to complain about yet, so clearly their hate has nothing to do with policy or taxes. The proof of this is that taxes are lower under Obama than under ANY president in the last 50+ years, yet they still hate.

Government intervention to the green intuitive and waste of 100s of billions on non viable technology. Cash for Clunkers did nothing stimulate and was just a give away. Gave and is giving away billions to the UN global warming fund. National debt continues to grow at about 1.2 Trillion a year.
