Not major grave errors I guess but still it makes me wonder about subjects that I don’t know about and wouldn’t be able to pick out the discrepancies …..never the less I’m happy for the family’s now able to have some closure
I appreciate our service-members, but I find the use of the word "hero" for everyone one who is killed, specious at best. I'm a veteran and served in the marines. Maybe World War II was a war in which our freedom was being protected, but after that EVERY war has been to spread and protect Americans hegemony at the expense of innocent lives and you don't get a pass because you consented to become an exploited labourer for our corrupt gov't.

Flew in a B-24J this past weekend last flying B-24 Bomber in the world. (Yes there are 1 or 2 others that are flying but they were cargo carriers to start with) a most amazing experience.

They never returned.. some soldiers after a wars feel that they wont be able to fit back in with their old lives and wont be able to deal with life back home so they just stay and changed their identity.. incredible really.

This Liberator went missing between Dobodura and Hanover Island, Bismarck Sea area on an armed reconnaissance of the area. It radioed at 0035/L "Why aren't lights on?", presumably because it could not find Dobodura. This was the last message from the aircraft, and further attempts to establish radio contact failed. A two day search of the area north of Cape Gloucester, its last reported position, failed to locate any sign of the aircraft.
It was a Mitchell. I know because my great-great-uncle flew a B-25 and crashed over New Guinea. It took them a year to find the remains. I don't know if they were his or not because they didn't have DNA testing.

Sometimes there are no mortal remains to find. On a documentary about Iwo Jima one veteran commented about men being listed as MIA because they were caught by a close/direct shell hit, and there was absolutely nothing left of them to find. You couldn't go look in that bush/ in that trench/ behind that rock, and find their remains - they just vanished.

The German state today systematically uses torture and assassination to shut down everyone complaining immediately. Examples are Heiner Gehring (author) or Uwe Barschel. Should the U.S.A. just have stood by while South Vietnam was taken over and massacred? Ditto for Dessert Storm. Should America just have said, "No", to Kuwait, when they asked for help in stopping Saddam Hussein/Iraq invading them and taking them over? America comes to the aid of nations being attacked...

Did you make up that number or did you blindly believe it when some told you? Berlin's population was about 4,000,000. This 8000 per year is about a half million found so far. Less than 200 - intact - skeletons have been found since 1997. Additionally, verified civilian deaths in Berlin during the war are about 120,000.

They're showing B-17s though. B-17shave a single vertical stabilizer at the rear. B-24s have 2 shorter vertical stabilizers; one at either end of the elevators.

It was a Mitchell. I know because my great-great-uncle flew a B-25 and crashed over New Guinea. It took them a year to find the remains. I don't know if they were his or not because they didn't have DNA testing.

What about the ones we never have and never will find? I guess it doesn't sound so reassuring to potential recruits to say "WE LEAVE NO MAN BEHIND(unless we can't find you). JOIN THE U.S. MILITARY NOW!" LOL, no I know what you mean. But sometimes it's not possible to be brought home. There are still US boys lying in the jungles in Viet Nam, and probably in the Pacific too.. That's part of what The Unknown Soldier is about; honoring those who never came back, who are buried nameless far from home

Sometimes there are no mortal remains to find. On a documentary about Iwo Jima one veteran commented about men being listed as MIA because they were caught by a close/direct shell hit, and there was absolutely nothing left of them to find. You couldn't go look in that bush/ in that trench/ behind that rock, and find their remains - they just vanished.
