  • whats that baloon flying above?

  • @deniskastel

    i think its ur brain

  • pouuuur fishs they must be so scary ;))

  • does that thing got a hemi in it

  • I have soon my b-day in this ship yeahhh :DD

  • I dedicate my life in helping others. Yet for some sick reason, I wish to torpedo this boat.

  • @Timvanoirbeek lol What? Why haha

  • i wanna go tubing behind it

  • I've always wondered: WTF is the point of that?

Why are all the assholes on board waving so franatically?

Are they trying to say just how whoopy shit they are?

Any retard with money can do it! Get my drift?

  • it's too small

  • where gonna use this ship this coming 2012 end of the world. bwhahaha

  • ok ok but it was design by a filipino no joke....hahahahaha....

  • Jaws just met his match.

  • OK, anyone have any idea how something that looks that top heavy not tip over? I know the top must be lighter than it looks, it's just that it looks like most of the weight is way above the waterline. What's the real story? How can this be?

  • @Douglas1121965, most of the heavy stuff is in the lower parts of the hull. Also, in ships you don't necessarily need to have the center of gravity below the center of buoyancy.

  • I WAS ON IT!

  • Made in Finland, not in China !

  • If the Pirates get on board, they will be Royally lost in this Caribbean.

  • it's look like old

  • Why does it have a ballon above it? worried about strafing attacks from enemy planes?

  • It looks like a bloated over-sized yacht. Where are the graceful-looking ships? Other than Queen Mary 2, I don't think there are any. The Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth are nothing more than Holland America ships with different livery and more elegant interiors.

  • it is really a big big ship i saw in it in caribbean

  • 0:26 looks like The Poseidon

  • what has humanity come to?

  • What's the blimp for?

  • aso mare ese barcaso oe

  • The Titanic should be in the top lead.

  • the ship's dirty

  • What an ugly and pointless monstrosity!

  • Look at the shit coming out of the funnels.

I thought that was supposed to be eco friendly.

Dammit I love the environment and hate things that ruin it!

  • @applesweeter Humans aren't really alone. For example, many animals try to make the largest nest to attract a mate, going with the same bigger better philosphy that humans have. Its the whole, "if I can make something better than I'm better" idea.

  • thats fucked up

  • WOEW

  • fantastico

  • Actually there has been four nuclear-powered cargo ships, of which one is still sailing under nuclear power.

There's also more than one nuclear-powered icebreaker. Out of nine six are still in active service, one preserved as a museum and two await for refit or scrapping.

Nuclear propulsion is not commercially viable (I have no idea how the Russian owners of NS Sevmorput make the ends meet), so only governments can afford operating nuclear-powered ships.

Too bad. NS Savannah was pretty...

  • what about Submarines?

  • Diesel or nuclear power.

In addition to diesel power, conventional submarines can run on batteries (that are recharged by the diesel generator) for a limited time.

  • wats Nuclear power? ... like a nuclear bomb?

  • Not quite. Nuclear power plants use controlled (non-explosive) nuclear fission reactions to generate heat that is used to heat water and produce steam which, in turn, drives a steam turbine connected to a generator that produces electricity.

In ships and submarines the propeller is usually directly connected to the steam turbine, but diesel-electric variants exist as well (French and Chinese subs).

Check the Wikipedia article on "nuclear power" to learn more.

  • you seem so smart lol

  • Google and Wikipedia can make anyone smart online.

  • okaaii um what do Airplanes use? Diesel?

  • Jet engines burn kerosene (jet fuel). It has some similarities with diesel, but as far as I know the two aren't interchangeable.

Piston-engined propeller aircraft use avgas, portmanteau for aviation gasoline, which is, as the name implies, high-octane gasoline. Some race cars use it as well.

I recall reading somewhere about piston-engined aircraft that could use diesel as well, but I guess they more commonly run on kerosene as it's probably cheaper.

    Airplanes aren't really my speciality.

  • How about the Giant Drilling machines that make the tunnels?

  • Tunnel boring machines? Honestly, I don't know. Quite likely, considering the fact that they operate underground in enclosed space, they're powered with electricity.

  • umm okai smarty, what about Area 51?

  • Area 51 probably takes its power from the national grid, for which it's provided by nuclear, coal, hydroelectric etc. plants. They probably have their own generators as well.

  • what about th base itself?. (not how its powered) :)

  • I don't really know as it's not in my area of interest. As I don't believe in all that UFO stuff, I'd say it's just a normal "secret" research and developement base.

  • what about blimps? diesel?

  • Well, most blimps have standard airplane or helicopter engines, so they probably run on aviation gasoline.

  • Weapons development.

  • Okay. That can be misleading.

  • Perhaps I chose my words wrong. I didn't mean that you were wrong. I just wanted to add that while the engines are "diesel engines", they don't run on diesel as it's too expensive to be used in ships.

  • Although I don't know for a fact, I'm quite sure that the engines in Oasis of the Seas burn heavy fuel oil as it's cheaper than diesel. At room temperature you can shovel it as it's not entirely unlike the stuff they put on the roads.

Other than that, you're right. Six gensets that produce electricity for the electric motors inside the azimuth thrusters.

  • what? whats the difference between diesel and gasoline? .. do trains use diesel?

  • The carbon chains in diesel fuel are longer than those of gasoline, so it has different chemical properties. It's not easy to give a good answer in the short space YouTube provides, so look it up from Google.

Trains, trucks, excavators and other heavy equipment generally have diesel engines.

  • Comment removed

  • Short explanation. Diesel oil is thicker than gasoline and is commenly used in heavyduty trucks and ships and what not. A diesel engine works by compressing the diesel to the point where it gets so hot that it combusts, and not by using a sparkplug like a gasoline engine. Many locomotives use what is called a dieselelectric engine where the engine powers a generator that again powers an electric engine. The electric engine powers the train. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions

  • what about Subway trains? they use fuel or Electric?

  • Would you want to ride a diesel-powered train in an enclosed space like a tunnel? Neither would I.

So, subway trains are electric (as are most normal trains around here as well). Some of the diesel-burning trains also use electricity to run the actual driving motors - they're diesel-electric, just like the ship in this video.

  • Subway trains are powered by electricity:) But if you want to you can say that they are Coal/oil/nuclear powered since that is where the power comes from hehe :)

  • how they get the electricity? I dont see engines in subways.

  • Subway trains get their electricity from an electrified "third rail" or, like normal electric locomotives/trains, from overhead wires.

  • how much can it cost?.......

  • 1.4 billion us

  • does it use gasoline?

  • Heavy fuel oil.

  • if the terrorist planned a kamikaze attack, that thing might just be a sitting duck...

    >> cool! it rhymes! (sort of)

  • @JuNTaBiOs that doesnt rhyme at all

  • yah, i noticed....

    >> cool! win 7 (speech recognition) actually recognized the word yah!

  • What, not nuclear powered?

  • its only a model...SHHH!

  • it's insanely big....

  • its alive! its alive! now hurry up and get to florida im going on the first cruise

  • The smallest ship ever at 6 in long!

  • its just amezing this both !

  • Awesome....

  • moving behind the trees this ship is a monster lol

  • that baby is getting sunk by a U-boat. you read it here first.

    :P

  • so i don't get it , do you enjoy your time on the sea or do you pretend inside your city?

  • For those who's concept of heaven is going to a shopping mall and never leaving.

  • Look ma, I am going to sea in a building inside a city!

This is consumption for the masses.

It's about as cheesy as it gets and has nothing to do with travel.

How can you enjoy a vacation with limited time at Port and the dumping of 5,000 people at one time for an 8 hour period.

Folks, get a brain, this is not the way to travel and you will learn nothing of the country that you visit.

This is a mammoth joke on the ignorant masses.

  • wonderful work done in Finland. The fitting out inside must be good but from the outside, it is ugly. I can't call that thing a ship. It is more like a building to me. I m afraid we have to build them this way now to be more profitable......so be it.

  • Very colossal ship and made in Finland :) <3

  • @elBandito91 this ship is bigger than finland

  • Ill be on it In August... WOOHOO

  • FAKE... It's not a cruiseship at all. We have all been tricked... THIS is in fact Roman Abramovich' new yacht... We all thought, that it was the Eclipse, that was his yacht... But that's actually just his life boat!?!?!?!? ... Amazing.. :-)

  • lol... only two lifeboats.

  • in the trial yes, but it has 18 lifeboats now.

  • wtf is th balloon

  • This ship is longer than the empire state building.

  • it seems bigger then titanic lol

  • its 43% bigger then freedom class shps. Titantic is like 2 times smaller than this ship

  • can u imagine an abandon ship on that..wow.........

  • Well... This mistake has been made before, but honestly, a ship like that should take a very very very long time to sink. Of course once again, I'll say this now and on its maiden voyage it will prove to be yet another exception... None the less, its designed no doubt to be able to easily evacuate everyone from the ship with express exception of those in the areas that initially flooded.

  • long time to sink? that's what they thought about titanic. last time i checked it sank in around 120 minutes

  • Hence me saying "This mistake has been made before," prior to making that statement =). Oh and to specify they thought the Titanic was unsinkable. This ship is most certainly not thought to be unsinkable, but in spite of the fact that there are tragic exceptions, its design should make it sinking quickly exceptionally difficult under anything but the most extraordinary circumstances...

  • actually no one "thought" the Titanic was unsinkable. The makers knew it could. Just one article called it Unsinkable and it was then used as a marketing ploy.

  • Oasis of the sea is 5 times bigger than titanic

  • I think 120 minutes is quite a long time for a ship to sink, well enough to evacuate all passengers and crew safely.

  • ideally it should be. but nobody knows how the crowd will be acting

  • I guess it really depends on the crowd control skills of the crew.

  • Its so nice. Finland made dude ;D

  • It was built by STX, which is Korea company!

  • Yeah i now. But the ship is not built in "Korea". Its built in Finland! Company is from Korea yeah. But its not Korean made ship!

  • amazing.

  • FINLAND!!!!

  • although a beautiful ship i would prefer ocean liners over cruise ship becoz of their elegance and grandeurness.

  • wow!

  • yes i have been on a cruise

and it was amazing i went with P&O and i loved it i will never forget it we went to..... hold on let me think....... oh yes thats right

    dover to calias

  • Hey guys, they are still working the kinks out of it, just give them a few months to get it working perfectly, and she would be a dream.

  • please dont put a thumbs down on this

i am not a big fan of this ship as it is like going to a apartmant on holiday only its in the sea!

  • and its taking you to various places with pools, restaurants, free food, great service, and great sights, have you ever BEEN on a cruise?

  • Absolutely enormous. And that aerostat is a floating lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me.

  • My goodness, that is a beautiful ship.

  • What kind of videocam or camera did you use? It's so clear.

  • She floats!!!! it does look like now that despite it's even way wider to accomodate the central park and the boardwalk, the ship still looks extremely top heavy with its entire balcony suites hanging out of the hull propped up by brackets below. And the signature crown deck by the funnel looks too bulky and clumsy. That's where the two deck lofts are going to be. The artist rendition looked much better proportioned than the actual one we're seeing now. I'm hoping it rides well in the ocean.

  • I'll have to disagree with you in every shape and form. This ship is beautiful and looks better than in the computer-generated renderings.

  • I cant wait to go on the maiden voyage in december! Shame the balloon thing was a flop - but the ship doesnt need gimmicks, its amazing as it is!

  • about 6,300. more if you count a full ship and all the crew. add another at least 1,100 for the crew.

  • That will suck.....

  • What will suck?

  • having a lot of people on board

  • Oh,I dont think so as long as you have that much space to roam.

  • thanks so much 4 posting

    amazing ship great footage

  • wow thanks for postin this! its amazing to actually see it out on the water

  • nice footage

  • The best video of this cruiser :D

  • I read the explanation on the site in the info but i still dont get what the aerostat is used for

  • If it works out, it will offer passengers a spectacular sight-seeing ride

  • Sweet! :)

  • Update: the aerostat broke loose nd now they're trying to figure out what went wrong

  • Great to see it finally moving under it's own steam as a frequent RC cruiser I can't wait to sail on it.
