Gosh this brings back memories from when I was about two, LOL! I always loved that music that accompanied that logo at the very end (even though I can't see the logo.) I know it's there because some of you have indicated that. They did the same thing at the end of As the World Turns! Who remembers that?
Or "Men's Fashions by Barney's" or "Furs by Christie Brothers" or "Ladies Fashions by Lillie Rubin Salon South by Southwest"... I have watched this show for years. KIlls me that it will be gone just two short months :(
I noticed the ending theme of "Hold On To Love" sounded different at that time then it would later (just like for the opening of GL back then) -- I think more cymbals placed indiscriminately is what I'm picking up. This was definitely from the first couple of weeks that "Hold On To Love" had replaced "My Guiding Light" as the theme for the show.
If you look at the 1993 closing credits, not only do you get the full PGP logo, you get the full Hold On To Love theme (which means you get full credits, too!)
This is probably from a "Soap Classics" episode. If it were a first-run from '91, we wouldn't be seeing the CBS logo bug. (FYI, it would usually appear with the CBS station bug, and after a few seconds, both would disappear. This was from 1990-1997. From 1998 on, the CBS logo bug would be seen permanently.)
It was, the time the episode originally aired was a time of turnoer--however the writing was solid and the show continued to prosper for a few more years afterwards.
This was around the time a alarming bunch of characters left: Phillip and Beth, Rick (a month prior I believe), Josh and the rest of Reva's family to name a few.
True, but the show got better under the writing team headed by Nancy Curlee. Even though many characters left, the show would prosper for a few more years.
Please join us again for another full hour of Guiding Light.

I like that PGP logo. It relly does have a 90's feel to it.

I like the little jingle that goes with it! It has a kind of emotional sound to it!

that's what i noticed. In 1991 the bug was only during news broadcasts

The bug? What are you talking about?
DorvellTStewart 3 years ago 6
the eye being shown at the lower right hand corner
corrupt200 3 years ago 6
Wait a second, at the lower right hand corner; that's no bug, that's the CBS logo.

The CBS logo IS the bug..that's a TV term for the logo.

Your wrong. Beginning In November 1994, the CBS logo bug would appear throughout the full program.
