The Amerindians did not from Israel. There were no horses or elephants in precolumbian America. There was no reformed egyptian/hebrew/aramaic spoken in the New World and no type of Jesus Christ based religion. No type of metal weapons. No metal coins and not even epic battles at the Hill Cumorah. No cities of Bountiful or Zarahemla existed. Book of Abraham was based on mistranslated scrolls. If you do not believe me prove me wrong but you will not be able to.
Sorry but i have family archives & journals showing your ideas of JSjr & polygamy is false. It started by bringham Young & some other missionaries visiting other areas by another religious group leader who was practicing polygamy. When Jsjr heard about it he was against it & was about to put B.Y. on trial ,but before he could do so he was taken to jail & murdered. Sorry your alligations are false.
@biblewoman1977 The lds church geneological records prove that your family archives and journals are not accurate. It's no great secret. Joseph hid all of his extra ciricular adultery from the membership. Joseph had the Nauvoo Expositor destroyed because it was going to spill the beans about his adultery. Joseph Smith III and David Smith came to Salt Lake to debate Brigham and the brethren, to prove their father never practiced polygamy.
@biblewoman1977 Sorry, but it is easy to prove Polygamy was practiced in Nauvoo and was a revelation from Joe.."The Nauvoo Endowment Ceremonies, A Documentary History, 1844-46" is by Mormons and for M'. Example: the Widow of William Morgan, of "The Morgan Affair",a Freemason murder, was married to Joe years earlier. And for eternity to Joe After he was dead and to her current hubby Harris, "for time". B Y. and John D Lee witnesses. And Zillions of these "marriages" took place
@biblewoman1977 This is easy enough to verify by using the LDS Church's Family History Library. I'm sorry Biblewoman 1977, Joseph Smith's practice of plural marriage and polyandry are established fact. You can even speak with the BYU History department about it if you like.
@biblewoman1977 ... I used to be LDS... They didn't hide Josephs being a polygamist back then (way back in 96)... I was raised with the story about the angel with a sword commanding him to "live that law"... Last I heard...it was still written in the Doctrine and Covenants... Ever hear about "The new and everlasting covenant of marriage?" as discussed in the D&C? That was all about polygamy...
@biblewoman1977 As an FYI - check out the Church's own Genealogy Web Site. JSJ had multiple wives. The Church doesn't hide it, but choose to not talk about it.
Emma stated, No such thing as polygamy, or spiritual wifery, was taught, publicly or privately, before my husband's death, that I have now, or ever had any knowledge of...He had no other wife but me; nor did he to my knowledge ever have.
Emma could lie with the best of em. She hid Josephs spiritual wifery from the whole family. Polygamy was the main reason why her sons came to Salt Lake to debate Brigham Young and the brethren. They came to defend Josephs honor and deny the story about his extra wives. They left Utah dispirited and completely broken.
Yes, it appears Emma lied. Sacred Heart was hoping her word would be the truth. Regardless, what is your personal view of spiritual wifery and in particularly it's effect on your thoughts of Joseph Smith, if you care to share...I've fostered a highly reverent view of Joseph Smith and if his spiritual wifery (not dissimilar to the messianic secret?) in ways it's got me thinking, it's not evil or bad, esp if Sacred Heart gives of itself in truth, trust, hope and unity for the spiritual upliftment
@hhhuman It was never a commandment. It fulfilled Josephs physical needs. I believe most of the women that accepted this became grief stricken, jealous and most of them ended up in poverty. Not a happy life for the women. For Joseph, Brigham and the brethren, the women were used and then set aside for a new conquest.
@hhhuman Polygamy as a social norm is morally revulsive in itself. It's shameful the "Twin Relics of Barbarism Polygamy and Slavery" gave the slave freedom. But Women today have fewer rights than a 19thC slave! Women can legally be subjected to this madness. Warren Jeffs was never tried for Polygamy. And a "Revelation" that Simultaneously "Nullifies All non Mormon marriages and contracts", isn't really a Rev', its a threat. an attack. It is an illegal immoral attack on Christianity and history.
"In March 1844, Emma published: "we raise our voices and hands against John C Bennet's 'spiritual wife system', as a scheme of profligates to seduce women; and they that harp upon it, wish to make it popular for the convenience of their own cupidity; wherefore, while the marraige bed, undefiled is honorable, let polygamy, bigamy, fornification, adultery and prostitution, be frowNed out of the of the hearts of honest men to drop in the gulf of fallen nature".
This is how it actually happened. You can find documentation if you read non-LDS Inc sanctioned material (which can include the church's own literature before it was "cleaned up"). Strange how LDS Inc never talks about his sex acts with teen girls, or even that he practiced polygamy and lied about it to his own sheeple. Boy Mormons today are so removed from reality they even accept this pervert as a man of god AFTER hearing he married a 14yo, Mormons seem to think child sex is OK.
@greatland2 That first mormon prophet of satan joseph smith was nothing but a scumbag who went around claiming that he was better then Jesus Christ AND YES HE DID DO THAT...hes the first mormon prophet of satan
@greatland2 - he was a man who told little girls as young as 14 that God told him to marry her. He was a convicted crystal ball gazer for money, was arrested for illegal banking, manufacturing money, polygamy, adultery, treason against Illinois, High Treason, destruction of property (the printing press), establishing militia. He told his sheep how to vote, rigged real estate prices, made false prophecies etc. Smith was a lying, pedophile criminal. He was a con man and piece of garbage.
@OzPoof He was a 150 years ahead of his time when it comes to coveting and "getting". And, I hate to say this, his bank today would look fairly good next to what we are living with."Safety Society Anti-Bank" Vs "Full Faith and Trust...." in a world of $Trillions, indeed. But when it comes to bald faced Chutzpah Joe is the winner. Not a prize to covet but it's someone's reward. He managed to turn marriage into a brothel controlled by a theocratic despotic bureaucracy. They use Love that way!
Oh, this video is light hearted compared to some others. ddefective Needs to make more.....My favorite moment is the cry of angst as he recounts the Angel to Emma....
HAHAHA ok so I'm a Mormon and I thought this was hilarious. I honestly did. I mean yes it's an anti-Mormon video or whatever but that was funny I must admit. Still smiling and laughin to myself right now. But hey, if you can't laugh at yourself and have fun, life would be pretty boring.
Yeah well at least you got the story "KIND OF" right. And YES they were not comfortable with the idea but they lived it anyways because it came by commandment.
"And YES they were not comfortable with the idea but they lived it anyways because it came by commandment."
Uh huh. Just keep telling yourself that. Whatever helps the pieces of pretending stay together.
Funny how Smith's wick dipping would be grounds for an excom in the modern cult, but back then everything was a.o.k. because Smith said an angel told him to do it. Do you not see the problem here? Really?
It's all made up. Great story, but it's all made up.
It's odd that you would be laughing at yourself, instead of at the stupidity of that Joe Smith idiot who had to invent a story about a flaming sword, in order to get Emma to go along with Joe-Joe's concupiscience.
But, the "Mormon God" is as stupid as Joe Smith was, too. The real God would never give D&C 132: 61-65..where Smith could only have virgins. Smith had 10 women who were not virgins.
@Nixmix24 Wait, was that an insult? Oh my hell, people! Joseph Smith would have been a kick-ass mo-fo (or rather not) if he were gay. But, alas, he was super horny for married women and 16-year old girls. Making people believe he is the one mouthpiece of god? No gay guy I know would be that much of a dick. And they know dicks!
@ddefective Like I said to orlona2, how about some credible sources to your claims? (Your preacher and other anti-Mormon books aren't credible fyi). But I can't really tell if your kidding or being very sarcastic. But if you actually believe the stuff you say, this is a perfect example of the huge contradictions between the anti mormons. On one hand he's as gay as the night is long and on the other hand he's a womanizer who just can't get enough of the ladies.
@bjjolley That's assuming that your definition is spot on, which it isn't. Some things ant-Mormons say are true but 99% of the time its mingled with lies. Even a fairy tale needs a little bit of grounding in reality for the story to be heard.
@Nixmix24 Yeah, those ant-mormons. Just pull on their antennae and they'll go away. ;)
Point is, you don't have to make up stories about the church to embarrass it. The church and its leaders have done some pretty awful things. No lying required.
@Nixmix24 - Actually, you couldn't. But I'll go ahead and take your statement as a concession of my point - the church and its leaders HAVE done some pretty awful things.
@Nixmix24 - What is it with you religious fanatics that assumes everyone has a church? According to religioustolerance[dot]org, "14.1% [of Americans] do not follow any organized religion." That's 42 million Americans - 6x more than American Mormons.
Lemme guess. You made your conclusions via super-reliable feelings. Even with solid (though technically imperfect) evidence, you'd fall back on "god is testing us." There's no point in backing things up for a magical thinker. Am I mistaken?
@bjjolley The last time I checked, 14% is pretty low and you didn't deny that you had a religion. In fact, in not denying it and just saying that I couldn't say the same thing about your preferred religion, you are leading me into thinking that you do have a religion. If you want someone to blame for the assumption that you have a religion, all you have to do is look in the mirror and analyze your omission of truth in order to accomplish your agenda. I don't need magical feelings to know that.
@Nixmix24 - Wow - you seem awfully concerned with my preferences. What does that have to do with your church's deceptions, exactly? I notice you haven't denied that your church and its leaders have done some pretty awful things.
Let's say I DID have a church. How would I know if it was false?
@bjjolley actually I couldn't give two shits about your church. On the contrary, one who trolls anti-Mormon videos like yourself is the one obsessed with someone else's church preference. Good job changing the subject though. Just take half a second and think about how it has to do with my church and it's supposed deception and the hypocrisy it would land you in.
I don't know what answer you want me to give here besides research and prayer. Your attempts to get under my skin is laughable.
@Nixmix24 - I'm guessing you don't, without looking it up, know why JS was held in Carthage before he was murdered. If you do know why, you didn't get it from church sources. So why do you suppose that is? Why doesn't the church make that information available to members? What does it have to hide? Start digging and you'll see.
@Nixmix24 - Wow - So you don't know. Interesting. Sure! I'd love to do your homework for you! Why don't you start by taking a poll of your family, or your elder's quorum and see who has ANY IDEA what the charges were, or what the accusations were about. That will tell you if the church is forthcoming about its own past. When you come up empty, look into legit historical records yourself. Or continue to swallow the "official version". It's not my job to think for you.
@bjjolley Obviously you don't have anything worth telling. I'm not asking you to do anything for me besides tell me what you're claiming to be the truth. I'll do my homework into that. But I'm not gonna waste my time on you if you are just gonna try to send me on a wild goose chase. You're not worth it.
@Nixmix24 - Ok, correct any untruths here: Joseph Smith ordered the destruction of the Navoo Expositor after its first/only edition printed so-called "lies". If you read the offending paper you'll find two things. 1) Nothing written is untrue. 2) William Law, former 1st Councilor in the First Presidency, was a man of far higher character, integrity and humility than Joseph Smith had ever been.
Joe had it destroyed because it exposed the truth. Read it yourself. The liar was Joseph Smith.
@bjjolley That's true and I already knew that. If you do your own homework you will see that action was perfectly within bounds of the law at the time. And that's not the reason he went to jail anyways. It certainly got the wheels moving but it's not the reason. "William Law.. was a man of far higher character, integrity and humility than Joseph Smith had ever been." That's your opinion
@Nixmix24 - It's true. It is my opinion, and I maintain that an honest person cannot conclude otherwise.
Interesting, though that my concluding statement was "The liar was Joseph Smith" and you responded only to other stuff. How bad does a lie have to be before you'll believe it?
When your concluding statement is just an opinion of yours, I don't have to give it any thought. Why argue opinion? How about you avoiding my statement about the whole situation? I've read the printing and I've also studied the facts of the context. Don't presume, you know more than I do about the subject just because I'm a member.
@Nixmix24 - what have I avoided? The church thing? You're still not clear that I am of no church/faith/superstition org? It is my opinion that you are being hoodwinked just like every other religious believer. I've forgotten what it's like "knowing with every fiber of my being." That was a comforting self-deception. Enjoy that next time you hear it in F&T meeting.
@bjjolley no the little detail that you overlooked about it being perfectly within the laws of the time for him to destroy the expositor. You're the one that can't get off that church subject and is still hung up on it
@Nixmix24 - Ah. So legal = moral in you mind? It's legal to beat your wife in Iran, you know. Even Big Dal Oaks concluded that the destruction of the press was a mistake and that the church was at the very least liable for damages. JS was arrested for treason. He lied about the Expositor. The church has its demons and you know it.
@bjjolley Legal = You don't go to jail. That was your argument. Slavery was legal but by today's standards it's immoral and I would agree that it is morally wrong. At the time it was fine to destroy a press that was stirring up violence. You don't see the church destroying anything anti-Mormon now do you? Times change. Show me your proof that he was arrested for treason. I already told you that the church has it's demons. Again, lets work on our reading comprehension here.
@bjjolley I can. But what would be the use in telling you? I have a better question. Can you give me proof that everything that was said was the absolute truth besides your opinion of the character of the man who wrote it? I highly doubt that.
@Nixmix24 - No proof is sufficient for an invested believer, but there is enough for an honest seeker of truth. Again, I leave you to your homework. You're the one who has to live with your own conclusions.
@bjjolley I don't have to research your false claims. It's your responsibility to provide it after making such bold claims. I could say the same thing to you about not having enough proof in the world to change your mind. You have already made up your mind about the church. You are no honest seeker of truth.
If providing evidence of bold claims is in order I place it on Joe. Demanded. Be it Curlooms or Cumorah. Instead of the hierarchy trying to convince folks to dig up South America, why not dig up Cumorah?. And Literary dishonesty lies with Joe and Sid. Sid stole Spaulding's manuscript and JS and Sid made a book. A stolen plagiarized book,. Then we must examine the Abraham Papyrus. Oh my. And please, don't say it's is not the portion of text used, no more "missing books",stories ok? It is the A.P.
@Nixmix24 "Troll" is more apt for Mormonism. for instance, in c. 1855 +/- in Nevada along the Humboldt River there was a certain Mormon. He instructed the Indians in Mormonism and "Americats" The Indians would approach travelers and w/o them knowing it, they would give secret signs. If the emigrants didn't know the signs they were murdered by the Mormons and Indians. Many times. At the Mountain Meadows Massacre JD Lee gave Freemason signs of security/white flag. We know how that turned out.
@Nixmix24 Well, I have expertize in Mormonism. but there is plenty of non Christianity out there in Jesuits, Catholics, Jews, and son on. Just type it in. I read the MMMassacre and with my background I knew I was looking at something very strange. The more I've read the stranger it gets.JD Lee called Mormonism Jesuitism refined.
@IExposeMormonism Correction, you have expertiSe in anti-Mormonism. No matter what your excuse is, you're still pathetic. Why waste so much time and energy? You aren't slowing the church down. you're not even a pebble on the road to it's progress. Why not focus your energy on promoting your religion or making your life better? This is why you're a troll. Spouting random "facts" that you can find in any anti literature doesn't change a thing.
@Nixmix24 I think the truth is worth more than Mormonism. It's my time. Joe spent his trime deceiving the world.People like me get a whiff of Mormonism and we must warn others what shit is. Mormonism is not an age cheese or wine. It is a lie. I promote Christianity while I Expose Mormonism. Ta da.
@IExposeMormonism Again, you mean nothing and you aren't slowing the church down one bit. You have your opinion about my religion and nobody but you cares. No matter what you want to call yourself, you're a troll with no life. You claim you're a Christian, how about you do as Christ would do. You didn't see him trying to rip down a single religion to prove his was correct. You don't promote Christianity. You promote hate. Period.
@Nixmix24 I have a right to sdefend Christianity. You are in an anti-Christ cult. A sex cult. You don't know it. It was J. Smith who called all non Mormon worship ":Anathema". It was his polygamy revelation that "Nullified all non Momron Marriages and contracts", defined innocent blood and threaten his wife with murder. I take it personally. Mormonism is violence and I have a moral obligation to expose the Mormon lie.. You should join Christianity. Flee The Mormon Hierarchy
@IExposeMormonism You aren't defending Christianity by spreading hate lies about another Christian religion. You have yet to prove your lies and like I said before, you can't claim to fight for Christianity when you display 0 Christian attributes in the process. You thrive on hate and lies, you glory in attempts to destroy what makes people happy. You should join reality. Flee your hate mongering.
@Nixmix24 "Another Christian Religion". But it does what I describe. It nullifies all non Mormon arriages, etc. It is intact in the D&C. Not "practicing" it doesn't mean it isn't intrinsic. M'ism is set against all established Christianity. Thus all the contradictory values and word definitions. I'm interested in the truth, not what makes perople happy. Nazi Germany had happy people with their values. Today we the 911/WTC Mega ritual. Truth will out the lie.
@IExposeMormonism I challenge you to find another religion more focused around the gospel of Christ in teaching and practice besides the maybe the Amish (Don't really know what they're all about but they're pretty gung ho) The church doesn't do what you described and you still have yet to show any real evidence to your claims. You're the type of person who believes what you hear and take it for face value because that's what you want to believe. 9/11 and Nazis have nothing to do with mormonism.
@Nixmix24 For the third reply of the day, I must challenge your attack that this person takes everything at face value. I say that, simply because it seems to be what you are doing. Why do you defend the mormon church? Because you think it's true! Your leaders tell you it's true and you tell yourself that it's true. But you have no proof to back up your claims either. A feeling is not proof. I felt the same friggin' "spirit" while listening to Obama's inaugural address as past church meetings!
@ddefective It may seem that way but it's not. I've done a lot of my own research into my religion among others. Quite a bit more than you would think in fact. I say that he takes everything for face value because he has yet to add anything original or new to the table that I haven't already seen in one anti book or another that has been refuted on one basis or another. Everything that an anti mormon has against the church is based in either lies, half truths, or speculation.
@ddefective I'm not sure what you're getting at here but I'll give it a shot. I'm not trying to convince anyone that my church is correct. The only thing I can recall is that I've been pointing out hypocrisy and defending myself. Remember, they are seeking me out, not the other way around. Like I said, I came into this video laughing and I honestly think the video was well made and hilarious although I don't agree with the message. And what have I been met with? A barrage of anti's attacks.
@ddefective Just because you say it's heading off a cliff, that doesn't make it true. And if it is, so what? Why stress about a religion that does exponentially more good in the world than the bad people want to claim? Being a defender of "truth" is a weak excuse. We could say the same thing about other religions and make pamphlets and videos about it. We have the money, talent, and knowledge. We don't because in the end, the haters might change a handful, but they eventually become the hated.
I know you believe your church does a lot of good. It does! You guys rock. But you don't do nearly as much as you think. If the church really gave all that it could to help other people, as Jesus said to do, you would have solved world hunger by now. You bring in hundreds of millions of dollars every year in tithing and church-owned business revenue. What is it being spent on? A mall. Church buildings that accommodate people who don't want to share.
@ddefective I'm not gonna pretend to know how the church deals with its finances. That's one part of the church I haven't really looked into in the same depth that I've looked into the other aspects of the church. However, it's just as hypocritical for you to claim that the LDS church doesn't give all it can when I'm sure your church (if you have one) doesn't either. I don't know of any other church that doesn't pay its clergy.
The church has thousands of buildings to maintain, thousands of bills to pay, multiple schools to run, temples to build, less fortunate families and missionaries to support, and so on. The list is very long. That is going to take millions upon millions of dollars and that's not even counting the millions in the relief efforts and such I have already mentioned. A part of giving all you have is being fiscally responsible so that you can give more later. That's economics 101
Nixmix Sounds like the Morg needs to cut back on its appetite for building things. Must be the Freemasonry virus. You give all you have to the Mormon Hierarchy and tell us what it gets you. I say Mormonism is a "getting" religion. JS Got the gold plates and he "got the Keys" and he got shot. I say you get taken to the cleaners. Especially these days when the Morg is sooo hungry. Also, you argue like a nit picking bifurcating lawyer. Like the comments dd finds so irritating. They are obfuscatory
@Nixmix24 I could go on with the plain examples of your church leaders lying. Even if it's true, they're lying. However, Wilford Woodruff said that if a prophet were to lie, Jesus would silence him. You don't have 13 million active members. Hinckley even said, "We're 13 million strong!" I don't want to detract from the point.
I'm not to concerned with truth, as you said. I just can't stand it when someone says they are a certain way and prove otherwise. Saying you're the best when you fail.
@ddefective 13 million strong hardly means 13 million active. I would like to see where the prophet said that though. I have never heard that verbiage (which is important because that's what your argument is) I've only heard 13 million members and growing or something to that effect but never 13 million active members. I don't know how that's saying we're the best.
The talk is called "The Work Moves Forward," and was given in April, 1999. I quote, "We gather together again as a great family, more than 10 million strong, to listen and learn from those who are called to lead..."
Like I said, he gave the number for membership at the time (I was off with the 13) and said they were gathered "strong," which implies that all are united in belief. I promise that the 10 million weren't even all there. That's my claim. Nice lie?
Give me a break. Yes that's the number of members at the time (not a lie) and you can take the definition of "strong" however you need to to fit your agenda but it's a stretch to think that the prophet, or whoever said it, meant that there were 10 million present in that single congregation. The membership was 10 million strong at the time, not necessarily active. One definition of "strong" simply means "of a designated number." look it up. So no, it wasn't a lie. You need a MUCH better example.
@Nixmix24 You are a waste of my time. I'm blocking you because you're annoying. I know you'll think it's because I know it's true and can't admit it, but it's really because your church is full of shit and arguing about it never solves anything.
@Nixmix24 Every conference invites outsiders to focus the crosshairs on the statements made. Just recently, a talk was given by an apostle about faith. He stated that true faith will never come from ancient scripture or archeological evidence. He said "that our faith, the Mormon type of faith" will only come through feelings. The deception is alive and well in Mormonism..
@Nixmix24 - If prayer is usable for assessing truth claims, why is the number of faiths/churches/belief systems increasing, rather than reducing? Most faiths pray, but we don't find convergence of ideas. What makes a testimony of Islam less/more believable than a Mormon one?
"You can gain a testimony by bearing it." Sound familiar? Look up 'insufficient justification" and then ask why god's true church would employ such tactics. Isn't truth enough without resorting to manipulation?
@bjjolley You still don't really have a point. There's a million and one reasons for prayer.
Again, you don't have a point.
You're really wasting your time on me. I've done plenty of digging and I know more than you think. Even if my church isn't what it claims to be, it is still better than all the other churches out there when it comes to what I feel is morally correct. Every church has their skeletons. People are just obsessed with ours. look up "projection" it's what all anti-Mormons do.
@Nixmix24 - prayer is statistically ineffectual. Meditation is good. Focus is good, but prayer to your favorite god produces the same results as praying to a jug of milk.
"Even if my church isn't what it claims to be..." Is isn't, and neither is any other church out there. Theologian, preacher, tea-leaf reader, prophet, astrologer, psychic - it's all the same. It's superstition, hocus pocus and comforting/dangerous drivel.
@Nixmix24 - You care about prayer because your testimony is founded on it. If god doesn't really intervene or communicate with man, your testimony is worthless.
And you certainly don't have to give my thoughts any attention at all. But when it comes to falsifiable claims about the universe, religions are batting 1000. D&C 77:6, for example. JS tells you something that is patently false about the age of the Earth. Do you deny it? Oh, wait - it's metaphorical? Riiiiiight.
@bjjolley No no, let's work on our reading comprehension shall we? I know why I care about prayer, I want know why I should care about what you think about prayer.
@Nixmix24 - hahaha. Funny. Here. I'll spare anyone else the trouble of looking it up.
"We are to understand that [the sealed book from Revelation] contains the revealed will, mysteries, and the works of God; the hidden things of his economy concerning this earth during the seven thousand years of its continuance, or its temporal existence."
JS taught in canonized scripture young earth BS. TRUTH FAIL. Prophet fail.
"It's not a statement"... Truth (and, amusingly, reading comprehension) fail.
@Nixmix24 - That's the thing about apologists: Substance runaround. Nevermind that the freaking Doctrine and Covenants teaches falsehoods about the nature of the world we live in. Nevermind that someone who was really communicating with an all knowing being and claimed to have seen the history of the world in vision would know the reality. Let's just bitch about punctuation.
@bjjolley That's the thing about anti-Mormons: Literary dishonesty. Never mind the fact that the antis will claim that one church member or another said this or that when in reality that's a falsehood. Never mind the lies that need to be told to get their point across to make the Mormons look worse than what they believe to be true. I honestly can't tell you how old the earth is and neither can you. Science can't prove that a God doesn't exist any more than it can prove that a God does exist.
@Nixmix24 - Dude, don't you get tired of moving the goal posts? You think there's the remotest possibility the earth is less than 10,000 years old? You've said enough there. You wouldn't know reality if it bit you on the face. Done with you, magical thinker.
@bjjolley Did I say that? You're the one moving the goal posts here. With everything I say you have to run to some other argument. Take a look at the other two comments you couldn't respond to. That says it all right there. You avoid every subject where you're obviously wrong and then claim that I'm the one that wouldn't know reality if it bit me in the face? Ha I hope you are done. You promise you won't waste my time anymore?
@bjjolley Also, while you contemplate your defeat, ask yourself why you, a supposed atheist, only care about trying to discredit the LDS religion. There's a million others that are far worse than mine yet you and all of the rest of you antis can only focus on my church. With no avail I might add. I came into this comment section laughing because I honestly thought this video was hilarious and I've only been met with hate. The hate that exudes from antis shows where their heart really is.
@Nixmix24 ... I can't believe I got this kind of traffic on this video. Both of you guys were wasting each others' time, since you couldn't wait to respond to the latest comment from your offender. bjjolley, I applaud your professionalism, but you know this guy won't crack. And Nixmix24, since you knew all along that this guy was wasting your time, why did you keep giving more of it to him?
My final thought: One who seeks for proof must trust it. A feeling is not universal proof (or possible).
@ddefective first of all, If you made this video, bravo haha. I laugh my ass off whenever I watch it. Second, That was the attitude I came into this video with and I had no intention to stir up the haters, yet besides your comment to me a while back, I have been met with nothing but animosity. I'm not one to start a fight but I'll sure as hell end it. But to answer your question, although he is a waste of time, I'm self employed so I have time to waste. And I get a good laugh out of it.
@ddefective PS. The beginning of Mambo 35 kills me! One. Two. Three Four Five. 678910111213141516....... Cracks me up. What program do you use to make these?
Wow, so do you. It is obvious, since you are watching youtube videos that you have time to waste, just like me. Now I know how you feel. Hell, nearly every true-blue Mormon says I have too much time on my hands when they first see these. Trust me, it takes me less time to make one of these videos than it takes you to sit through a sacrament meeting. I believe those are a waste of time. But that's just me.
Dude this video showed up and I watched The first 15 seconds and saw it was just a retarded video trying to discredit the prophet Joseph. He was a great man and nothing you say or do can tarnish his legacy. Oh and thanks for the spelling lesson by the way:)
Too much time on ones hands is what led to this mess of Mormonism. Hands on Magic talismans, hands on knives for blood atoning the "gentiles", hands on the Kirkland Safety Society Anti-Bank, hands on polygamy, the Mountain Meadows Massacre, hands on everything a Mormon can lay is hands on and destroy.Including a Mother and her infant child. The MMM is a fruit of Mormonism....
Mormonism is pathetic. But also very dangerous. Its definitions and rituals are not Christian. But the counter on this video is pathetic as well: The 'toon had 11,000 hits in nothing flat and in the last month it has had maybe 300. Boobtube is oft accused of manipulating counters. I wonder...
I would rather go through life committing to be a good person whether there is some eternal reward in store or not than being blindly obedient only because I think there's an eternal reward.
How about being a good person just because it works? Im not really sure why someone needs to be blindly obedient or have a reward of somekind to be a good person. You know I do however find it easier to do good things when Im around other people who also like to do good things. I think the LDS church is great in supporting its members in that aspect. I got to hand it to you if you can do it alone without the support of anyone. Your the man.
The video is well put together and the comedic value is great. The reality factor is seriously lacking but i do appreciate the work and effort put into the video. Just think what you could accomplish if you spent your time doing something that benefited mankind.
Look, I know you're trying to be nice, but I get it: It hurts your feelings. Anyway, as far as I am concerned, this is helping humanity as much as I am able at this time, trust me.
Not really, My feelings are only hurt when I see people doing bad things to other people. That kind of hurts my feelings. Offended yes, feelings hurt, try harder next time. Anyway did you maybe want someone to talk to about what is going on in life. Im LDS and I do have a gay brother who also grew up LDS whom I love very much. Maybe we can help eachother both get a better view of things
If it brings LDS members to their senses and keeps any vulnerable people from joining a cult that demands money form them to enter LDS Temples and all the secret handshakes, signs and tokens that go with it, etc, etc. Then it is benefitting mankind indeed!
So much evil, So much hate, So much resentment. What ever is in my power, my dear brother to help you put down your cross, let me know what it is I can do?
I'm sorry that you feel that we carry any "cross." life is great, marcopolo. Don't be bothered by our sincere feelings that the LDS church is a horrible entity. To be honest, I feel that way about the majority of organized religion, but I have more experience seeing the emotional damage on myself and friends who used to belong to your church. But trust me, it's not hate. Resentment: definitely. As far as evil goes, look at church leaders who do not lead how they preach to.
I am really not sure why people who leave the church spend the majority of their life in contention. Never really getting past the decisions they have made in life. To me that behavior just fortifies how true the church really is and how powerful the true gospel of Christ really is. I mean I myself have left many religions. But denying the things I have experienced as a LDS. Seems impossible. So I do have compassion for your attempts to do so. But why is it so hard. If its not true?
Same reason why it would be so hard for a POW or survivor of the Titanic to get over it. It's simple: when an event or entity damages your outlook on life or your emotional well-being, or any number of other life-breaking things, you can't let it go. The only difference is that now we have online forums, etc. that allow us to express a common hurt together. it it a kind of therapy, is all.

Sorry your alligations are false.
biblewoman1977 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 So you're saying that it was not ever sanctioned by God?
ddefective 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 The lds church geneological records prove that your family archives and journals are not accurate. It's no great secret. Joseph hid all of his extra ciricular adultery from the membership. Joseph had the Nauvoo Expositor destroyed because it was going to spill the beans about his adultery. Joseph Smith III and David Smith came to Salt Lake to debate Brigham and the brethren, to prove their father never practiced polygamy.
Both left Utah broken and defeated.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 Sorry, but it is easy to prove Polygamy was practiced in Nauvoo and was a revelation from Joe.."The Nauvoo Endowment Ceremonies, A Documentary History, 1844-46" is by Mormons and for M'. Example: the Widow of William Morgan, of "The Morgan Affair",a Freemason murder, was married to Joe years earlier. And for eternity to Joe After he was dead and to her current hubby Harris, "for time". B Y. and John D Lee witnesses. And Zillions of these "marriages" took place
IExposeMormonism 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 This is easy enough to verify by using the LDS Church's Family History Library. I'm sorry Biblewoman 1977, Joseph Smith's practice of plural marriage and polyandry are established fact. You can even speak with the BYU History department about it if you like.
OldInjury 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 ... I used to be LDS... They didn't hide Josephs being a polygamist back then (way back in 96)... I was raised with the story about the angel with a sword commanding him to "live that law"... Last I heard...it was still written in the Doctrine and Covenants... Ever hear about "The new and everlasting covenant of marriage?" as discussed in the D&C? That was all about polygamy...
honeeproducer34 1 year ago
@biblewoman1977 As an FYI - check out the Church's own Genealogy Web Site. JSJ had multiple wives. The Church doesn't hide it, but choose to not talk about it.

Emma stated, No such thing as polygamy, or spiritual wifery, was taught, publicly or privately, before my husband's death, that I have now, or ever had any knowledge of...He had no other wife but me; nor did he to my knowledge ever have.
hhhuman 1 year ago
Emma could lie with the best of em. She hid Josephs spiritual wifery from the whole family. Polygamy was the main reason why her sons came to Salt Lake to debate Brigham Young and the brethren. They came to defend Josephs honor and deny the story about his extra wives. They left Utah dispirited and completely broken.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
Yes, it appears Emma lied. Sacred Heart was hoping her word would be the truth. Regardless, what is your personal view of spiritual wifery and in particularly it's effect on your thoughts of Joseph Smith, if you care to share...I've fostered a highly reverent view of Joseph Smith and if his spiritual wifery (not dissimilar to the messianic secret?) in ways it's got me thinking, it's not evil or bad, esp if Sacred Heart gives of itself in truth, trust, hope and unity for the spiritual upliftment
hhhuman 1 year ago
@hhhuman It was never a commandment. It fulfilled Josephs physical needs. I believe most of the women that accepted this became grief stricken, jealous and most of them ended up in poverty. Not a happy life for the women. For Joseph, Brigham and the brethren, the women were used and then set aside for a new conquest.
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@hhhuman Polygamy as a social norm is morally revulsive in itself. It's shameful the "Twin Relics of Barbarism Polygamy and Slavery" gave the slave freedom. But Women today have fewer rights than a 19thC slave! Women can legally be subjected to this madness. Warren Jeffs was never tried for Polygamy. And a "Revelation" that Simultaneously "Nullifies All non Mormon marriages and contracts", isn't really a Rev', its a threat. an attack. It is an illegal immoral attack on Christianity and history.

Emma Hale Smith is mEyE+I HERoine!:
"In March 1844, Emma published: "we raise our voices and hands against John C Bennet's 'spiritual wife system', as a scheme of profligates to seduce women; and they that harp upon it, wish to make it popular for the convenience of their own cupidity; wherefore, while the marraige bed, undefiled is honorable, let polygamy, bigamy, fornification, adultery and prostitution, be frowNed out of the of the hearts of honest men to drop in the gulf of fallen nature".
hhhuman 1 year ago
This is how it actually happened. You can find documentation if you read non-LDS Inc sanctioned material (which can include the church's own literature before it was "cleaned up"). Strange how LDS Inc never talks about his sex acts with teen girls, or even that he practiced polygamy and lied about it to his own sheeple. Boy Mormons today are so removed from reality they even accept this pervert as a man of god AFTER hearing he married a 14yo, Mormons seem to think child sex is OK.

Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - "Anti-mormon" is when you make up lies to embarrass the church. What do you call it if the accusations are true?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley That's assuming that your definition is spot on, which it isn't. Some things ant-Mormons say are true but 99% of the time its mingled with lies. Even a fairy tale needs a little bit of grounding in reality for the story to be heard.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 Yeah, those ant-mormons. Just pull on their antennae and they'll go away. ;)
Point is, you don't have to make up stories about the church to embarrass it. The church and its leaders have done some pretty awful things. No lying required.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley I could say the same about your preferred religion also.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Actually, you couldn't. But I'll go ahead and take your statement as a concession of my point - the church and its leaders HAVE done some pretty awful things.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley of course not.. no leader in your church has ever done anything wrong. Which church is it by the way?
You can go ahead and assume whatever you want but vague claims like that need to be backed up by more than just anti-Mormon writings.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - What is it with you religious fanatics that assumes everyone has a church? According to religioustolerance[dot]org, "14.1% [of Americans] do not follow any organized religion." That's 42 million Americans - 6x more than American Mormons.
Lemme guess. You made your conclusions via super-reliable feelings. Even with solid (though technically imperfect) evidence, you'd fall back on "god is testing us." There's no point in backing things up for a magical thinker. Am I mistaken?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley The last time I checked, 14% is pretty low and you didn't deny that you had a religion. In fact, in not denying it and just saying that I couldn't say the same thing about your preferred religion, you are leading me into thinking that you do have a religion. If you want someone to blame for the assumption that you have a religion, all you have to do is look in the mirror and analyze your omission of truth in order to accomplish your agenda. I don't need magical feelings to know that.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Wow - you seem awfully concerned with my preferences. What does that have to do with your church's deceptions, exactly? I notice you haven't denied that your church and its leaders have done some pretty awful things.
Let's say I DID have a church. How would I know if it was false?

Nixmix24 1 year ago
@bjjolley actually I couldn't give two shits about your church. On the contrary, one who trolls anti-Mormon videos like yourself is the one obsessed with someone else's church preference. Good job changing the subject though. Just take half a second and think about how it has to do with my church and it's supposed deception and the hypocrisy it would land you in.
I don't know what answer you want me to give here besides research and prayer. Your attempts to get under my skin is laughable.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
p.s. You still haven't given me any examples of your claims that can be backed up by credible sources and not just anti-Mormon slander.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - I'm guessing you don't, without looking it up, know why JS was held in Carthage before he was murdered. If you do know why, you didn't get it from church sources. So why do you suppose that is? Why doesn't the church make that information available to members? What does it have to hide? Start digging and you'll see.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley How about you enlighten me? And how about some proof to whatever you claim?
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Wow - So you don't know. Interesting. Sure! I'd love to do your homework for you! Why don't you start by taking a poll of your family, or your elder's quorum and see who has ANY IDEA what the charges were, or what the accusations were about. That will tell you if the church is forthcoming about its own past. When you come up empty, look into legit historical records yourself. Or continue to swallow the "official version". It's not my job to think for you.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley Obviously you don't have anything worth telling. I'm not asking you to do anything for me besides tell me what you're claiming to be the truth. I'll do my homework into that. But I'm not gonna waste my time on you if you are just gonna try to send me on a wild goose chase. You're not worth it.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Ok, correct any untruths here: Joseph Smith ordered the destruction of the Navoo Expositor after its first/only edition printed so-called "lies". If you read the offending paper you'll find two things. 1) Nothing written is untrue. 2) William Law, former 1st Councilor in the First Presidency, was a man of far higher character, integrity and humility than Joseph Smith had ever been.
Joe had it destroyed because it exposed the truth. Read it yourself. The liar was Joseph Smith.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley That's true and I already knew that. If you do your own homework you will see that action was perfectly within bounds of the law at the time. And that's not the reason he went to jail anyways. It certainly got the wheels moving but it's not the reason. "William Law.. was a man of far higher character, integrity and humility than Joseph Smith had ever been." That's your opinion
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - It's true. It is my opinion, and I maintain that an honest person cannot conclude otherwise.
Interesting, though that my concluding statement was "The liar was Joseph Smith" and you responded only to other stuff. How bad does a lie have to be before you'll believe it?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley Opinion doesn't = fact
When your concluding statement is just an opinion of yours, I don't have to give it any thought. Why argue opinion? How about you avoiding my statement about the whole situation? I've read the printing and I've also studied the facts of the context. Don't presume, you know more than I do about the subject just because I'm a member.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - what have I avoided? The church thing? You're still not clear that I am of no church/faith/superstition org? It is my opinion that you are being hoodwinked just like every other religious believer. I've forgotten what it's like "knowing with every fiber of my being." That was a comforting self-deception. Enjoy that next time you hear it in F&T meeting.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley no the little detail that you overlooked about it being perfectly within the laws of the time for him to destroy the expositor. You're the one that can't get off that church subject and is still hung up on it
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Ah. So legal = moral in you mind? It's legal to beat your wife in Iran, you know. Even Big Dal Oaks concluded that the destruction of the press was a mistake and that the church was at the very least liable for damages. JS was arrested for treason. He lied about the Expositor. The church has its demons and you know it.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley Legal = You don't go to jail. That was your argument. Slavery was legal but by today's standards it's immoral and I would agree that it is morally wrong. At the time it was fine to destroy a press that was stirring up violence. You don't see the church destroying anything anti-Mormon now do you? Times change. Show me your proof that he was arrested for treason. I already told you that the church has it's demons. Again, lets work on our reading comprehension here.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Oh, and I meant to ask. Since you say you know more about this subject, can you name a lie the expositor printed?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley I can. But what would be the use in telling you? I have a better question. Can you give me proof that everything that was said was the absolute truth besides your opinion of the character of the man who wrote it? I highly doubt that.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - No proof is sufficient for an invested believer, but there is enough for an honest seeker of truth. Again, I leave you to your homework. You're the one who has to live with your own conclusions.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley I don't have to research your false claims. It's your responsibility to provide it after making such bold claims. I could say the same thing to you about not having enough proof in the world to change your mind. You have already made up your mind about the church. You are no honest seeker of truth.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
If providing evidence of bold claims is in order I place it on Joe. Demanded. Be it Curlooms or Cumorah. Instead of the hierarchy trying to convince folks to dig up South America, why not dig up Cumorah?. And Literary dishonesty lies with Joe and Sid. Sid stole Spaulding's manuscript and JS and Sid made a book. A stolen plagiarized book,. Then we must examine the Abraham Papyrus. Oh my. Ta da.
IExposeMormonism 1 year ago
@IExposeMormonism Again, you mean nothing and you aren't slowing the church down one bit. You have your opinion about my religion and nobody but you cares. No matter what you want to call yourself, you're a troll with no life. You claim you're a Christian, how about you do as Christ would do. You didn't see him trying to rip down a single religion to prove his was correct. You don't promote Christianity. You promote hate. Period.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 I have a right to sdefend Christianity. You are in an anti-Christ cult. A sex cult. You don't know it. It was J. Smith who called all non Mormon worship ":Anathema". It was his polygamy revelation that "Nullified all non Momron Marriages and contracts", defined innocent blood and threaten his wife with murder. I take it personally. Mormonism is violence and I have a moral obligation to expose the Mormon lie.. You should join Christianity. Flee The Mormon Hierarchy
IExposeMormonism 1 year ago
@IExposeMormonism You aren't defending Christianity by spreading hate lies about another Christian religion. You have yet to prove your lies and like I said before, you can't claim to fight for Christianity when you display 0 Christian attributes in the process. You thrive on hate and lies, you glory in attempts to destroy what makes people happy. You should join reality. Flee your hate mongering.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 "Another Christian Religion". But it does what I describe. It nullifies all non Mormon arriages, etc. It is intact in the D&C. Not "practicing" it doesn't mean it isn't intrinsic. M'ism is set against all established Christianity. Thus all the contradictory values and word definitions. I'm interested in the truth, not what makes perople happy. Nazi Germany had happy people with their values. Today we the 911/WTC Mega ritual. Truth will out the lie.
IExposeMormonism 1 year ago
@IExposeMormonism I challenge you to find another religion more focused around the gospel of Christ in teaching and practice besides the maybe the Amish (Don't really know what they're all about but they're pretty gung ho) The church doesn't do what you described and you still have yet to show any real evidence to your claims. You're the type of person who believes what you hear and take it for face value because that's what you want to believe. 9/11 and Nazis have nothing to do with mormonism.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 For the third reply of the day, I must challenge your attack that this person takes everything at face value. I say that, simply because it seems to be what you are doing. Why do you defend the mormon church? Because you think it's true! Your leaders tell you it's true and you tell yourself that it's true. But you have no proof to back up your claims either. A feeling is not proof. I felt the same friggin' "spirit" while listening to Obama's inaugural address as past church meetings!
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective It may seem that way but it's not. I've done a lot of my own research into my religion among others. Quite a bit more than you would think in fact. I say that he takes everything for face value because he has yet to add anything original or new to the table that I haven't already seen in one anti book or another that has been refuted on one basis or another. Everything that an anti mormon has against the church is based in either lies, half truths, or speculation.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 What do you think YOU are doing?
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective I'm not sure what you're getting at here but I'll give it a shot. I'm not trying to convince anyone that my church is correct. The only thing I can recall is that I've been pointing out hypocrisy and defending myself. Remember, they are seeking me out, not the other way around. Like I said, I came into this video laughing and I honestly think the video was well made and hilarious although I don't agree with the message. And what have I been met with? A barrage of anti's attacks.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 Just because your big truck is driving over his pebbles doesn't mean your truck isn't about to drive off a cliff, dude.
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective Just because you say it's heading off a cliff, that doesn't make it true. And if it is, so what? Why stress about a religion that does exponentially more good in the world than the bad people want to claim? Being a defender of "truth" is a weak excuse. We could say the same thing about other religions and make pamphlets and videos about it. We have the money, talent, and knowledge. We don't because in the end, the haters might change a handful, but they eventually become the hated.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 Here is my real beef. Hypocrisy.
A mall. Church buildings that accommodate people who don't want to share.
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective I'm not gonna pretend to know how the church deals with its finances. That's one part of the church I haven't really looked into in the same depth that I've looked into the other aspects of the church. However, it's just as hypocritical for you to claim that the LDS church doesn't give all it can when I'm sure your church (if you have one) doesn't either. I don't know of any other church that doesn't pay its clergy.
(continued)
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@ddefective (continued)
Nixmix24 1 year ago
Nixmix Sounds like the Morg needs to cut back on its appetite for building things. Must be the Freemasonry virus. You give all you have to the Mormon Hierarchy and tell us what it gets you. I say Mormonism is a "getting" religion. JS Got the gold plates and he "got the Keys" and he got shot. I say you get taken to the cleaners. Especially these days when the Morg is sooo hungry. Also, you argue like a nit picking bifurcating lawyer. Like the comments dd finds so irritating. They are obfuscatory
IExposeMormonism 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 I could go on with the plain examples of your church leaders lying. Even if it's true, they're lying. However, Wilford Woodruff said that if a prophet were to lie, Jesus would silence him. You don't have 13 million active members. Hinckley even said, "We're 13 million strong!" I don't want to detract from the point.
I'm not to concerned with truth, as you said. I just can't stand it when someone says they are a certain way and prove otherwise. Saying you're the best when you fail.
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective 13 million strong hardly means 13 million active. I would like to see where the prophet said that though. I have never heard that verbiage (which is important because that's what your argument is) I've only heard 13 million members and growing or something to that effect but never 13 million active members. I don't know how that's saying we're the best.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 ... it was a conference. I wouldn't bring it up otherwise.
Take care!
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective I assumed that. Which conference though? I'm asking for proof of your claims of a lie, not generalizations.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 Dude, you're so annoying!
Nice lie?
ddefective 1 year ago
Give me a break. Yes that's the number of members at the time (not a lie) and you can take the definition of "strong" however you need to to fit your agenda but it's a stretch to think that the prophet, or whoever said it, meant that there were 10 million present in that single congregation. The membership was 10 million strong at the time, not necessarily active. One definition of "strong" simply means "of a designated number." look it up. So no, it wasn't a lie. You need a MUCH better example.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 You are a waste of my time. I'm blocking you because you're annoying. I know you'll think it's because I know it's true and can't admit it, but it's really because your church is full of shit and arguing about it never solves anything.
ddefective 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 Every conference invites outsiders to focus the crosshairs on the statements made. Just recently, a talk was given by an apostle about faith. He stated that true faith will never come from ancient scripture or archeological evidence. He said "that our faith, the Mormon type of faith" will only come through feelings. The deception is alive and well in Mormonism..
awolLDSasap 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - If prayer is usable for assessing truth claims, why is the number of faiths/churches/belief systems increasing, rather than reducing? Most faiths pray, but we don't find convergence of ideas. What makes a testimony of Islam less/more believable than a Mormon one?
"You can gain a testimony by bearing it." Sound familiar? Look up 'insufficient justification" and then ask why god's true church would employ such tactics. Isn't truth enough without resorting to manipulation?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley You still don't really have a point. There's a million and one reasons for prayer.
Again, you don't have a point.
You're really wasting your time on me. I've done plenty of digging and I know more than you think. Even if my church isn't what it claims to be, it is still better than all the other churches out there when it comes to what I feel is morally correct. Every church has their skeletons. People are just obsessed with ours. look up "projection" it's what all anti-Mormons do.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - prayer is statistically ineffectual. Meditation is good. Focus is good, but prayer to your favorite god produces the same results as praying to a jug of milk.
"Even if my church isn't what it claims to be..." Is isn't, and neither is any other church out there. Theologian, preacher, tea-leaf reader, prophet, astrologer, psychic - it's all the same. It's superstition, hocus pocus and comforting/dangerous drivel.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley And I care what you think about prayer because??
Again, I am supposed to care what you think concerning religion because?
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - You care about prayer because your testimony is founded on it. If god doesn't really intervene or communicate with man, your testimony is worthless.
And you certainly don't have to give my thoughts any attention at all. But when it comes to falsifiable claims about the universe, religions are batting 1000. D&C 77:6, for example. JS tells you something that is patently false about the age of the Earth. Do you deny it? Oh, wait - it's metaphorical? Riiiiiight.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley No no, let's work on our reading comprehension shall we? I know why I care about prayer, I want know why I should care about what you think about prayer.
You're right. And I don't.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
Well, at least you didn't end by bearing your testimony.
No argument with the lie in D&C, then?
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley It's the whole casting pearls before swine thing..
D&C 77:6 is a question.. It can't be a lie because it's not a statement. So I didn't feel the need to waste my time on it.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - hahaha. Funny. Here. I'll spare anyone else the trouble of looking it up.
"We are to understand that [the sealed book from Revelation] contains the revealed will, mysteries, and the works of God; the hidden things of his economy concerning this earth during the seven thousand years of its continuance, or its temporal existence."
JS taught in canonized scripture young earth BS. TRUTH FAIL. Prophet fail.
"It's not a statement"... Truth (and, amusingly, reading comprehension) fail.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley Nice job leaving out the part in the scripture that makes it a question.
Honesty fail
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - That's the thing about apologists: Substance runaround. Nevermind that the freaking Doctrine and Covenants teaches falsehoods about the nature of the world we live in. Nevermind that someone who was really communicating with an all knowing being and claimed to have seen the history of the world in vision would know the reality. Let's just bitch about punctuation.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley That's the thing about anti-Mormons: Literary dishonesty. Never mind the fact that the antis will claim that one church member or another said this or that when in reality that's a falsehood. Never mind the lies that need to be told to get their point across to make the Mormons look worse than what they believe to be true. I honestly can't tell you how old the earth is and neither can you. Science can't prove that a God doesn't exist any more than it can prove that a God does exist.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 - Dude, don't you get tired of moving the goal posts? You think there's the remotest possibility the earth is less than 10,000 years old? You've said enough there. You wouldn't know reality if it bit you on the face. Done with you, magical thinker.
bjjolley 1 year ago
@bjjolley Did I say that? You're the one moving the goal posts here. With everything I say you have to run to some other argument. Take a look at the other two comments you couldn't respond to. That says it all right there. You avoid every subject where you're obviously wrong and then claim that I'm the one that wouldn't know reality if it bit me in the face? Ha I hope you are done. You promise you won't waste my time anymore?
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@bjjolley Also, while you contemplate your defeat, ask yourself why you, a supposed atheist, only care about trying to discredit the LDS religion. There's a million others that are far worse than mine yet you and all of the rest of you antis can only focus on my church. With no avail I might add. I came into this comment section laughing because I honestly thought this video was hilarious and I've only been met with hate. The hate that exudes from antis shows where their heart really is.
Nixmix24 1 year ago
@Nixmix24 ... I can't believe I got this kind of traffic on this video. Both of you guys were wasting each others' time, since you couldn't wait to respond to the latest comment from your offender. bjjolley, I applaud your professionalism, but you know this guy won't crack. And Nixmix24, since you knew all along that this guy was wasting your time, why did you keep giving more of it to him?
My final thought: One who seeks for proof must trust it. A feeling is not universal proof (or possible).
ddefective 1 year ago
@ddefective first of all, If you made this video, bravo haha. I laugh my ass off whenever I watch it. Second, That was the attitude I came into this video with and I had no intention to stir up the haters, yet besides your comment to me a while back, I have been met with nothing but animosity. I'm not one to start a fight but I'll sure as hell end it. But to answer your question, although he is a waste of time, I'm self employed so I have time to waste. And I get a good laugh out of it.

But that's just me.
ddefective 2 years ago 2
Dude this video showed up and I watched The first 15 seconds and saw it was just a retarded video trying to discredit the prophet Joseph. He was a great man and nothing you say or do can tarnish his legacy. Oh and thanks for the spelling lesson by the way:)
greatland2 2 years ago
Oh, and you spelled "there" incorrectly. Should be "their."
ddefective 2 years ago

I wonder...

I would rather go through life committing to be a good person whether there is some eternal reward in store or not than being blindly obedient only because I think there's an eternal reward.
dfwsunking 2 years ago
How about being a good person just because it works? Im not really sure why someone needs to be blindly obedient or have a reward of somekind to be a good person. You know I do however find it easier to do good things when Im around other people who also like to do good things. I think the LDS church is great in supporting its members in that aspect. I got to hand it to you if you can do it alone without the support of anyone. Your the man.

The video is well put together and the comedic value is great. The reality factor is seriously lacking but i do appreciate the work and effort put into the video. Just think what you could accomplish if you spent your time doing something that benefited mankind.
marcopolo8765 2 years ago
Look, I know you're trying to be nice, but I get it: It hurts your feelings. Anyway, as far as I am concerned, this is helping humanity as much as I am able at this time, trust me.
ddefective 2 years ago
Not really, My feelings are only hurt when I see people doing bad things to other people. That kind of hurts my feelings. Offended yes, feelings hurt, try harder next time. Anyway did you maybe want someone to talk to about what is going on in life. Im LDS and I do have a gay brother who also grew up LDS whom I love very much. Maybe we can help eachother both get a better view of things

its accurate. these are the beliefs of the mormons.

If it brings LDS members to their senses and keeps any vulnerable people from joining a cult that demands money form them to enter LDS Temples and all the secret handshakes, signs and tokens that go with it, etc, etc. Then it is benefitting mankind indeed!
Mr1afterlife 2 years ago
So much evil, So much hate, So much resentment. What ever is in my power, my dear brother to help you put down your cross, let me know what it is I can do?
marcopolo8765 2 years ago
I'm sorry that you feel that we carry any "cross." life is great, marcopolo. Don't be bothered by our sincere feelings that the LDS church is a horrible entity. To be honest, I feel that way about the majority of organized religion, but I have more experience seeing the emotional damage on myself and friends who used to belong to your church. But trust me, it's not hate. Resentment: definitely. As far as evil goes, look at church leaders who do not lead how they preach to.
ddefective 2 years ago
I am really not sure why people who leave the church spend the majority of their life in contention. Never really getting past the decisions they have made in life. To me that behavior just fortifies how true the church really is and how powerful the true gospel of Christ really is. I mean I myself have left many religions. But denying the things I have experienced as a LDS. Seems impossible. So I do have compassion for your attempts to do so. But why is it so hard. If its not true?
marcopolo8765 2 years ago
Same reason why it would be so hard for a POW or survivor of the Titanic to get over it. It's simple: when an event or entity damages your outlook on life or your emotional well-being, or any number of other life-breaking things, you can't let it go. The only difference is that now we have online forums, etc. that allow us to express a common hurt together. it it a kind of therapy, is all.
