  • Such a great song, no matter how it is remixed. Soothes, brings sad memories, sometimes good memories. Just perfect

  • OK he looks nothing like Henry VIII, and she look completely different to Anne Boleyn!!!!!!!!!

  • Oooh poor Anne.

  • Henry the Eighth, by the Grace of God, King of England, France & Ireland,

Defender of the Faith & of the Church of England & also of Ireland in Earth Supreme Head : HviiiR to his mates !

  • i want to marry this song

  • Anne was in the fades :L

  • Such an English patriotic song

  • The moron didn't know at the time that it is the male gamete that determines sex. X or Y.

  • here's a laugh - King Frederick William IV of Prussia reincarnated as Benny Hill and his wife Elisabeth Ludovika of Bavaria reincarnated as Holly Valance...

  • does anyone know who henry viii reincarnated as?

  • Poor Anne Boleyn, Greensleeves one day and wide eyed and headless the other. lol If you can keep your head when all those around you are loosing theirs.. you wasn't married to Henry the 8th.

  • я люблю Анну Болейн

  • @XmyronGames The had bad teeth which in Tudor times was a sign of wealth, because they could afford to buy sugar. Wonder who had the last laugh? lol

  • it is brilliant

  • it's gotta be hard to look at the girls back in the medieval days when the women had mens eyebrows

  • @ElliottSmithSocks Women of nobility had them shaved off clean.

  • *sigh* I sooo miss this show...

  • Listening to Greensleeves and drinking mead on the eve of the year 2012, almost as if nothing changed!

  • Amazeing

  • Anne Boleyn had dark eyes, not blue.

  • @arsviatticae and Henry VIII was fat ¬¬

  • @valeria30718 And they all had bad teeth.

  • @valeria30718 He was later in life not when he was young. To be fair it did make me cringe a bit when u saw Henry in like series 3 and 4 and he still looked like a young good looking athlete only really the last episode he started looking older and bigger like he actually was

  • @arsviatticae yes, but the producers couldn't get every last detail right. Natalie was perfect for anne and i think her blue eyes are part of what make her look stunning

  • at 1:54 omg his face and eyes such a beautiful man!

  • damn jrm is so hot!!!!!

  • I love history too...(and now we are learning about Henry VIII so it helped me so much that I watched these series last year) and I love to play this on my flute it's so beautiful

  • love it

  • never understood whatsup with women and masquerades lol

  • This is THE WORST version of Greensleeves EVER!

  • Serves Henry VIII right for what he did to Anne Boleyn- HER daughter would become Queen! The way he fell in love with Anne and then accused her of cheating, while he himself screwed all her "waiting" ladies! Asshole!

  • @SuzzankaVesna like history much?

  • @aarox4ever I like history very MUCH! :) However, anyone who had watched the series would know all these details

  • Es, quizás, la mejor pieza musical renacentista en inglés.

  • sounds so romantic and sad in the same way

  • what a horrible racket.....

  • well... basically... magnificent!!!

actually one of my favourite songs

  • Вот так выглядит моя любовь...

  • anne is beautiful -

    Like the video ;)

  • Outstanding rendition.

Funny, don't usually think Henry VIII as a skinny young man.

  • @cscdigitalgraphics funny, indeed. In the whole Ireland they've found one muscular dark-haired guy with blue eyes to portay Henry the VIII. Maybe the reason is quantity of bed's scenes, who knows)

  • uggh this makes me cringe because it sounds like drunk men are singing it.

  • depressing that he chops off her head.

  • I agree

  • I agree

  • I have arranged this song for VERY EASY piano, have a look to my channel and get the score :) Everyone can play it!

  • Always found it ironic that Henry went through so many wives trying to get a son, yet Elizabeth is generally remembered as one of the greatest monarchs we have ever had.

  • @gymnutter89 Yes, it is strange, isn't it. Some of Britain's greatest monarchs were women (Victoria, Elizabeth I) whilst their fathers were generally devasted not to have a male heir. :-)

  • @gymnutter89 .

That is because Henry does not know that the gender of a child is determine by the man's seed. He can keep on trying to get a male heir but the problem is in himself.

  • @angelofmusic477 I hope somebody in make him know that

  • @gymnutter89 Lol William The Conqueror?

  • @gymnutter89

    Elizabeth was Anne's revenge

  • 77 people need new batteries for their hearing aids ;-)

  • @Bjowolf2 - No. They need medication. Or more than their usual dose.

  • The finest version ever was the BBC production with Keith Michel as Henry.

  • @fgonzalez43 Yes ''The Six Wives of Henry VIII'' was a great production and it was not as silly as 'The Tudors', as Henry did grow old and fat! You should check out the 96 'The Prince and the Pauper' as Keith Michell plays King Henry VIII again.

  • I seriously can't imagine someone would love me to the point where they order my head to be cut off!

What a jerk, poor Elisabeth grew up without a mother, and feared that she would suffer the same fate!

  • Roger Mcquinn needs no one sticking up for him. I think it is the finest version ever.

  • Alas, my love, you do me wrong? How about you executing her because you were panting after another woman's skirts? Nah, that's not wrong at all...

  • what are the chords for this song?

  • Comment removed

  • @KuweEnma

    Verse: { Am, C, G(6), Am, E } twice ; Am

    Chorus: C, G, Am, E, C - G, Am, E, Am

You can prob. find many good tablatures or tabs (finger picking schemes)

for this one on the web if you google for it. Once you know the basic chord

progression by heart it's really just about lifting or adding a finger here &

there. A really good tune to start with, since it will sound great, even if you

play it very slowly. It was one of my first serious attempts at finger picking.

    Best of luck.;-)

  • @Bjowolf2 thank you so much =)

  • Henry VIII was already fast becoming a tub of lard when he courted and married Anne.

  • alas, my love you do me wrong....

  • Why do all the women surrounding Henry have such baby faces??

  • @MsTommyknocker : For a reason as old as humanity itself, I suppose

  • @MsTommyknocker Why the hell Henry himself has such a baby face? :D Wasn't he in his fourties at this time? Wow, they had some very good botox back then ;D

  • Sarah Bolger playing Lady Mary: The cutest sexiest baby face

  • @MsTommyknocker

    Because they are babes? ;-)

  • Damn, I was hoping for at least a decent version of Greensleeves. The vocals were annoying as hell, especially whilst hitting the high notes o_O

And then we have The Nudors...

  • @haltrman93 The feeling's mutual. The most uneven chorus ever... Do you think that this McGuinn guy made it this way on purpose? To make it more... Uh... more whatever it was supposed to be? :)

  • @kapitanplomba Yea, the chorus just... I can't wrap my head around the "top" comment, either. Best version? Not with those vocals, haha.

  • @kapitanplomba

    Of course it's intentional ;-)

He is doing his variation of this fine song - and it does sound great!

  • ... heartbreaker ...

  • C of E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • henry the 8th actually tried to keep the peace between the catholics and protestants until he died

  • Alas, my love, you do me wrong, . To cast me off discourteously. . For I have loved you well and long, . Delighting in your company. . . Greensleeves was all my joy ..... :X:X

  • I don't think he is attractive on his, but he's more attractive than the actually Henry. I do have this thing that I think I i was related to henry cause I really like him, but then again I think he is evil!

  • BEST GREENSLEEVES ACTION I'VE HAD ALL MONTH

  • Awesome! TY hiserature for posting.

  • I love that scene from the masquerade!

  • @kendoka0girl So did I. I'm a big fan of The Tudors.

  • @MACKATTACK835

If you liked The Tudors you need to read "The Autobiography of Henry VIII" written by Margaret George. It's a great book! It differs a bit from The Tudors HBO Series, but it's a great read. I thought it was so good I've read it three times. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

  • By the way....This song was originally written by Sir Henry Brewster Stanton, father of Punky Brewster Junior II, but this version has brought tears of the dragon to my left eye... Amazing stage performance... A show man he is indeed....

  • shes hot. wth

  • Check the piano version of this song above or in my channel. Amazing aswell.

  • something is wrong with my youtube, sorry

  • @johnalanhale5 He was the KING of england, He could do pretty much anything he wanted

  • the girl in tudor sucs..she looks too modern for the character..and she doesn't look u know british with elegence and yet slightly evil

  • alas, my love you do me wrong

    to cast me off discourteously

for i have loved you so long

    delighting in your company

translation: wtf bitch, you so rude and i have loved you for a long time and listened to you, what more do you want? He was truly an egotistical, tyrannical man who wanted nothing but himself satisfied until the next fill, women like food to his taking and beckon. In other words, once he was done with one treat he would move on to the next, fat ass lol

  • @johnalanhale5 Henry was referring to Anne's refusal to be his mistress, which was smart on her part, for it made him pursuit her more, then most of the other women he managed to get in his bed. He had her sister Mary first, but because she was so willing, he lost interest in her, and then Anne came along, who would not let him get her as quickly as most of the other women.

  • @darkangel15000 this is because, she actually had virtue and wasnt so willing to give it up as the others.

i enjoy your drive and determination to get your point across. i feel a discussion coming on. :)

  • @darkangel15000 This is because, she actually had virtue and wasnt so willing to give it up, unlike the others. Henry was obsessed with her, what with trying to get her into bed, but primarily in having a male heir to the throne. These little details to him mattered not, it was all a way to merely get his fill and be satisfied for the next line to get theirs, like his father before him.

i enjoy your drive and determination to get your point acrossg. i feel a discussion coming on. :)

  • @darkangel15000 by little details, i meant he never actually considered having a relationship, but something to sustain until he would have a male heir

  • @darkangel15000 I agree, This is because, she actually had virtue and wasnt so willing to give it up, unlike the others.

  • anyone knows where I can find this song? I've looked everywhere and I can't find it :(

  • Henry VIII wrote this poem.

  • @GirLInSecondLife That's a popular belief, but there is no actual proof to say it's for certain.

  • funny that the song has nothing to do with them and is from elizabethan times. ;)

  • @beex85 elizabeth was from the house of tudor

  • @jonone17 yes, but she was the daughter of henry and anne and came later. so the song doesnt have much to do with henry and anne. that's what i said.

  • @Zuzerhun fuck off !! Are you 6 or something ?! Seriously, grow up! The only bastard here is you...

  • hey, hey, it is only Tudor Dynasty, why talk about the racial stuff?

  • en esta canción se respira amor puro, me encanta la interpretación y las escenas de Los Tudors que la acompañan

  • @vantarinitel I think the same way but when I try to say it, people start saying that I am a racist when this is not racist at all, it is a fact.

  • Anne = Mother in Turkish (:

  • to the people arguing below....so whats wrong with raping pillaging and burning....u think after a thousand years wed be used to it by now.....war is as necessary as peace

  • @vantarinitel You know, because resources, and climate could not have had anything to do with that. They must just be inferior, it couldn't be because the landscape was barren and hostile, or anything like that.

  • @jguth66 It's got nothing to do with that, correct.

  • @VonTavast K.

  • @vantarinitel ummmm excuse me dude are you saying the white people were "killed kicked out and trying to help" if so LOL you make me fricking laugh because enslaving a race, raping their women and children obliterating their culture and relegions and destroying their civilizations is help right? woooowww don't frigging talk until you know what you're saying. you look like an idiot right now. Europeans destroyed sophisticated civilations in africa and exhausted their resources. so stfu please.

  • history is all mine mine mine hahaha yaer

  • @vantarinitel "funny" but no fun. tragic, indeed. all thanks to subhuman jews - killing, raping, lying, stealing everywhere they go.

  • @ZuzerHun Yeah, just blame everything what happens in Africa on the Jews, I'm sure that will help.

  • @xGerdine is stating the obvious "blaming" now? kike logic? and why would it help?

  • @ZuzerHun I'm sorry, but I don't understand a word of what you're saying. And, FYI, my comment was completely sarcastic.

  • @ZuzerHun ........ wtf is wrong with you are you kidding me? are you really grouping a RELEGION as a group of terrible people if anything christians are the sub human ones who destroyed more than half the damn world and forced their relegions onto others! not to mention " christian" Europeans raped killed pillaged enslaved AND evicted every other race that has walked this earth.

  • @spunkypunkchick yet some more jewish lies. you can lie and forge all you want, lies will not become truth just because you keep saying them over and over (even though jews widely practice this). what really shocks me is you stupidity. jew is a religion? since when? roflmao, stupid kike.

  • @ZuzerHun JEWdaism dumbass thats where the word stems from. look shit up before u talk.

  • @spunkypunkchick Actually, the term Jew comes from the Aramaic Yehudim, which means "people of the province of Yehud". Yehud was the former Kingdom of Judah as a province of the Persian Empire where the Jews were allowed to return from the Babylonian Exile.

  • @ZuzerHun O_O wooooooooooowwwwwwww either you're a self hating jew or you're just COMPLETELY stupid sir. before you want to call me stupid look it up just what exactly do you think a jew is? A random group of savages? they're a culture RELEGION MAINLY and and if you actually openend up that pea sized brain of your you'd realize you're talking out of your ass right now " jews a relegion since when" reallly?! really?!

  • @spunkypunkchick again: very typical. i dont think you really care about what i think or facts in general but (maybe other people read it too) get this: you are an anti-semite worse than hitler. any jew would agree on that. how dare you say that a jew who does not practice judaism is not a jew? now say it again that jew is a religion and maybe it becomes truth. end of argument.

  • @ZuzerHun .... let me give you the definition right out of the dictionary hmm?

    " noun

    1.

one of a scattered group of people that traces its descent from the Biblical Hebrews or from postexilic adherents of judaism; Israelite.

    2.

a person whose religion is Judaism." I rest my case idiot. and how am i worse than you? if i recall correctly were you not just bad mouthing jewish people? and fyi im not a jew. or an anti semite im muslim.

  • @spunkypunkchick muslims are the same shitty bastards...

  • @ZuzerHun oh my god you are clearly speaking out of your ass because you have absolutley no idea what you're talking about fuck this I'm wasting my time. God why did i bother with this in the first place. kay have fun retard maybe someone will kick your teeth in and teach some fucking respect

  • @spunkypunkchick Arab muslims enslaved Africans and Europeans too looong before Europeans did the same.

  • beautiful !

  • Good English tune

  • realy bad version in my opinion.

For Example 1:30 ... just scary

  • Is it just me or does this sound like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy? ROFL!

  • @Castaril there really isn't much history there. the only reason the tribes kill each other with guns now is because Europeans sold guns to them

  • best greensleeves' song on youtube

  • no

  • @Mykvu The Jeff Beck's one is magic..

  • @Mykvu nope best one's the one from Anno 1602 ^^

  • Would be a lot better if it were sung in an English accent.

  • Cute, sexy and executed.

  • Natalie Dormer is one of the most beautiful women on this entire planet.

  • @SuperJonathanduran I guess you didn't read the description of this video...click "show more"! :) Roger McGuinn sang this song. He is an American song-writer, singer and guitarist.

  • @Mslovemusic77 ooo sorry did not read it but thanks anyway

  • @Mslovemusic77 I have a doubt just what happens is that I find to download that song and I did not then appear with the singer ????????

  • Ahhhhhh.. I miss watchin the tudors..!!! It Was awesome.. i still do believe there was a strong chemistry between henry and anne..

  • hear a question who sings this song

  • Love the song!!

  • I like this very much and the Tudors and music of the period. Thanks for providing your video and musical expertise.

  • @vantarinitel so what i even think some white people (white european my race) act and look like monkeys to including my little sister, so we are all technically a species of monkey

  • I can see why he wants her, she's bloody gorgeous!

  • A matter of taste...

  • @Bertziethegreat A matter of taste...

  • Gorgeous song!
