I don't know who brought up Avenged Sevenfold or why they are even in the same sentence as Revocation but let me say this: David Davidson is a much better guitarist than Synyster. That seems to be Avenged fan's main argument, that the guitar work is so good jada jada. I don't know about the drums/bass, but David smashes their guitar work. And the vocals here are waaaaay better. AS has pussy vocals. Metro Metal (yeah I just coined a new term for metal fans that dress gay) fans are lost.

@daruckus85 like i said lots of potential, but there are many things that could improve. the vocals for one im not exactly sure what they are aiming for here, it seems to be a mix of death-metal and black-metal. and mixtures usually dont do very well in the long run. if they focused on more death-metal vocals i would surely heap more praise upon them.

@sunnyjim98 I have no problem with bands who make it into the mainstream because they end up selling lots of records. Mainstream bands like Deftones, Megadeth and Lamb of god kick ass. However, when a band like Avenged Sevenfold who sound like they were created during an American Idol boot camp make it, that's pretty sad. They are fucking terrible.

I agree with boltthrower668 100%. The riffs are alright, but they sound undeveloped. I wish i had that speed, but i don't. But speed doesn't mean great or technical by default. It sounds like a few short riffs just stuck together. All played 4, or 8 times with the exception of 6/8 time signature tossed in. Again i don't hate, but it's needs work forsure. Where are the bridges and links to each riff. One just cuts off and the next one starts. There is very little over all flow.

Meh. I just really dont like any of the guitar rifts at all. Just sounds like something someone would come up with while jamming. Short, uninventive phrasing that seems to be lacking cohesion. It was if they had potential but weren't refined or developed enough. The solo at the end was pretty enjoyable though.
