one of my favourite tracks of all time! i love to just get mad stoned on acid and go crusing in the night forest blaring this track. it transforms the world before me. even without acid or any drugs, this track will do the trick. its a drug within and of itself!
I remember when I thought noise sounded like pretentious nonsense.. then i happened to be at a Bonnie Jones performance at my university. I didn't know what I was 'supposed' to get out of it, so I thought - 'well it's sound and sound is vibrations passing through cells, I'm made of cells so I'll shut my eyes and see how this stuff feels in my cells.' Bingo - that for me is what noise is all about, tuning into the physical sensations, a whole new world of brand new immediate experiences <3

when does the beat drop? oh wait it doesn't...ever. This music sucks so bad i found out about them through an animal collective interview, it's a shame noah lennox listens to this garbage.
@arehumansgood What are you talking about? This is some of the best stuff out there. And have you ever even listened to AC? The real AC? If you ever listened to anything other than MPP you'd probably find that you actually hate them... Try albums like Hollinndagain or Here Comes the Indian and come back here and complain about how noah lennox actually writes this "garbage". Hipster.
its really interesting to listen to their music that sounds incredibly dense and complicated ans then see them do it live and watch their whole process
This muisc in the vein of Metal Music Machine from Lou Reed morons! What can we expect of people like you who watch this kind of tv shows where it's all dire straits cover-groups???
Too bad you are unimpressed with Black Dice. Perhaps it is their mining of a non-normative sound model that gets to some people...and it's pretty dancey too.
Breeeegs- music is based on individual differences in humans: perception. If you are angry at the ease at which a person could make a complex sound (with little experience/talent) then I am in partial agreement; for instance just look at such software as Reaktor........ Skrewell was an ensemble for this that basically generated sound by itself....
then don't. it really doesn't matter whether you think this is music or not. making a comment like that is counter productive. if you don't like it, don't listen to it, and for us who do enjoy it we will continue to enjoy it.
funny thing is you sit one of the Luddites in front of a heap of electronic things (see I dunno what all that stuff is - wish i did) and they'll produce fuck-all of musical worth. like most things it's damned easy if you know what you're doing.
i thought the point was to make music using available technology? explore possibilities? if you don't like it's no biggy

is this the age we have come to live in? Where "music" can be made by people who have no talent whatsoever, using computers and freaking sound mixers!?!! Listening to this rubbish makes me weep...

@arehumansgood
anyone who relies on a beat to drop in order for music to be considered good, isn't really listening to music.
LISTEN, --> LIIIISSSTEN!

It was a rough start, but they sure start gelling about 2-2.5 minutes in.

pan sonic is another great experimental eletronic group. i think black dice must have been influenced by them in some way.

Man this song is so awesome. It makes me feel so mellow.
Grif6988 4 years ago
the first two minutes are kinda hard but then it grows on you.
obviously, it's not for anyone who isn't well into the experimental.
and you got to be listening to this on some good speakers to hear what they are doing. it sounded absolutely ass coming straight out of my computer.
