Hey man, I am a musician too and i play second life. I wanna know how can you actually get into the music scenery and playing live music events? Like how can I put myself and my music out there? Is there publicity involved? Applications to fill to play in certain areas? (In other words, What should be my first step?) Because I am clueless as how to get out there in sl and play music.
@guitareaper1000 The very best thing to do is to start going to live music events. You can ask around at a venue and see who does the booking, then see if they're interested in having you play there. My recommendation is that you search for "open mic" events, and do a show or two. Like real life, there's a process of working your way up to the better venues and paying gigs. Drop me a line if you need more info. :)
@zakclaxton Yea, I can do that.. I might come around and see u inworld sometime. I know that its a matter of getting myself around and working my way up, I just dunno where to start atm, that's the problem. But I'll search for live events and see. Ty for the tip.
@guitareaper1000 i can help you on this one bud... ok first thing you whana do is find some linden sayyy about 550 to 1000 the more you have the better. next you will whant to start and event or a party with i think will cost you something i am not shure next tell as many friend to tell the locales about what will be happening and were. next you'll whant to upload your music VIA geasture "meaning have some kind of recording divice to record it than up load it" or streming your music will work.
if you listen closley he kinda sounds like.. torley linden using his funky microphone voice lowerer thing.. I know.. sounds crazy.. but the similarities are quite amazing..
This is brilliant. Very well done and thought out and entertaining as well. Should be a video for the Noobs and for the promotion of Second Life actually. I've noticed the music and Machinima scene ramping up in SL exponentially.
Thanks Jenn. I've done these videos several years in a row, but this is the first one I expanded to include more general info about the whole SL live music scene. It was fun to make. Come check out one of my shows sometime... see you in world. :)
