Wow. Quite amazing this all happened on the day you bought a camera. There is one problem though about filming that sort of thing. People may think you started it and you're filming it because you're excited. Well, that probably never happens in New Zealand, but it does happen here in North America. I am not saying you were responsible for this thing, (which I know you're not) just take care when you're in a different country.
A couple of advises here: 1. Don't zoom in too quick. It will make you loose the subject of interest very easy. 2. Don't be afraid to keep filming a bit longer than a couple of seconds per shot. 3. Even though some people have troubles with it, have one eye on the target while the other eye is on the camera (when you don't have a flip open screen that is.
Worthless video. Learn to hold the fucking camera still next time.

I would not be surprised if you measure the voltage with a copper probe stuck in the dirt and you get a reading of a couple dozen volts
