@theotherandyg No, I dont think so.Eric Chahi was graphic designer and every his game had realistic animation of human moves like in Prince but it is different engine. Its similar cos it was the best way of creating games like these.
I was 17, and out of school with a broken knee. My mom bought this for me to bide my time. I couldn't figure it out at first but when I did, I don't think I ever had more fun playing a game.
I remember playing this game when i was young on my cousins amiga we were stuck at the part with the little r2d2 robot over the jump at the start of the level.
I think it was a good week before we found out you had to shoot that god damned antenna on it's head.
i was 22 when i first played this jewel on genesis and im 40 now. thanks bro, this brings back memories and i had to download it.... btw, im struggling getting through level 1.
and to all you youngsters, this game was the start for the role playing games today on the 360 and ps3. i laugh at the fact that this game with audio is 1.48 mbs..... i downloaded the genesis to pc version from a different link then yours. also ,i paid $40 for this game back in '93 for the Sega game cartridge.
@time2cclear I hear you man first played this when I was 7 or so, surprising how fast time flies by this game was truly a masterpiece tho I still play it occasionally to this day. Only part I'm having trouble with is that last two part level.
I went to this new game place yesterday and the had the nintendo 64 and the sega genisis. I got the genisis cuz i grew up on it, dfl. but i got Flashback, Ren & Stimpy, and SSonic 2. They all brought back memories.
I absolutly loved this game!!! I played it on the Amiga when i was a kid and at the time did not know what the hell i was doing. I'm 22 and have only recently discovered the plot.
What a classic game. I have completed this now but found it so hard when I was younger and a little scary, especially those green laser beams that follow you and also the alien creatures!
Seems to be PC version on here. The only version that had music in-game was the Sega CD version. It's nice playing it again with music as they other versions were abit quiet without it! :)
FLASHBAAAACK! NOSTALGIAAAAAAA!! I played FADE TO BLACK and ANOTHER WORLD and loved both. Love to watch those game movies with a pack of chips. Like back then watching my friend do it. Yeah Flashback indeed!
The Genesis version is even scarier, because of the music. I remember my mother rented this game for us when visiting a relative when me and my brother were kids. This game was rented for him, and some other game rented for me. I don't remember which one. We would wander around aimlessly for hours, because we had NO idea what to do. And I was 7 or 8 years old.
I remember watching my dad play this on the snes when I was little. Gave me nightmares. :D

@time2cclear Actually your wrong in 1 thing " this game was the start for the role playing games today "
the Idea to Create this game was Taken From " Another World: Heart of the Alien " or " Out of This World " in the US Made by Eric Chahi
