@sandrochatlos1 yup but there would be work involved full tranny have to make rear wheel it would be better to make shift the taurus body onto like an explorer frame and put the motor on an actual frame made for rear wheel and or four wheel

I think some of you guys need a reality check. I've owned a 99 vulcan taurus, a 01 vulcan taurus, a 02 vulcan taurus, a 94 SHO, a 96 Audi A4 Quattro and a 02 v6 mustang and the vulcan is, by a large margin, the slowest car. Anyone who thinks that a vulcan taurus will hang with a v8 mustang made after 1980 is delusional.
XD now i really cant wate to get a new exaust on my 88 taurus 3.0 vulcan (sounds beast with just a cold air intake) but thats just awsome. btw i have beaten a nissan altima if that counts for anything.

@morou ye man the duratec dohc is an absolute powerhouse. i got the 2.5 in my mystique, and it is damn fast! i can't imagine how fast the 3.0L is!! but on the other hand, vulcans are absolutely bulletproof. some have overheated them with no damage at all.
@morou When it comes to power the vulcan is not a sleeper if you want to stomp a ricer you need a early 90s SHO that Yamaha engine made a big difference . I am not saying its a bad engine but not a powerful one along with a weak trans I would not push the newer Taurus.
@s2knott not gonna lie there are more than one motor that can come in a caviler here are fast motors and i have a vulcan also there the slow motors the DOHC have more horsepower it is a mazda and ford motor has 200 hp im pretty sure the vulcan has about 170 i put a full intake and exaust on mine it makes a diference
@morou i agree the DOHC 3.0 has nuts, but i graduated from that to the Lincoln Continental with the 4.6 DOHC and i wont go back....same basic car but more electronic toys and air suspension damn son i beat 4.6 5speed stangs with my Conti with no sweat
@SteelCity1981 Only if you don't take care of them, Fluid and filter change every 30k and you will never have trouble with it, I have a 00 SES with 24v DOHC, built a custom Cold Air intake for it, and Performance Exhaust and that fucker stomped a tuned Mint Condition 91 Thunderbird in less then a block from a dead stop and I have yet to get the chip tuned, not to mention I have 150k miles on it...
@Rumpaltin then you were lucky because many people had problems with those tranny's i knew a guy that had to replace his and he took good care of the car then a year later later his new tranny started slipping.
@SteelCity1981 Yeah but what year was the car, and what setup was it.. I have noticed that the Engine in my car though still a DOHC 3.0 V6 I do not have Plug wires on mine, Each Cylinder has it's own Coil right on top if it with small like 22-30 Gage +\- Cables to a x2 pin plug right into the coil, the only thing I ever have to change for a tune-up is the plugs themselves. I have yet to see another 00 with this engine setup, I've only seen this set up in one other Taurus online, not a 00 either.

@morou the vulcans were not dohc motors. they were OHV. single cam pushrod 3.0's. i have had several cars with the 3.0 vulcan. you can make them pretty quick though.
@morou i like the taurus, but 150 hp and 180 tq in a car that weighs 3300 lbs isn't going to win against a civic si making 197 hp and 140 tq and weighing 2630 lbs

But when I looked under neath my car, there is only 2 cats one coming off the manifold and one right before the resonator. So I am confused on what you deleted underneath yours. I want to make mine sound like that. Tell me exactly what you did so I can make mine sound like that. I need to know exactly what parts u bought and what you deleted.

I think some of you guys need a reality check. I've owned a 99 vulcan taurus, a 01 vulcan taurus, a 02 vulcan taurus, a 94 SHO, a 96 Audi A4 Quattro and a 02 v6 mustang and the vulcan is, by a large margin, the slowest car. @morou The DOHC taurus engine only produces about 200HP. Honda's 2.0L DOHC vtec engines make that with 4 cylinders.

I've beeten a P-71 CVPI Police in interceptor that had 50 more HP.
(I have an 02 Duratec DOHC Mondeo engine)
And matched an 06 Mustang GT.
Amazing u beat a V8 Stang with your Vulcan, Tauruses are awesome machines.
