i saw no difference i the quality of this vid from the quality of my vids. i dont use HD anything and still get excellent footage. i think right now HD is a fad that hasnt really earned its fame. second i use windows movie maker and it seems to be just as good quality as your vid here so what about it is trash. i havnt had any problems. thanks for reviewing the camera though. i appreciate your fairness on boths sides (like / dislikes).

Nice video! Pretty much very true what you said. I used the Zi6 in a high altitude balloon. It came back in one piece and functioned for 4 hours thanks to the replaceable batteries which I exchanged for lithium ones.

@a2hunts it just needs a simple codec you can get for free off download dot com. just pick a complete codec pack and you wont get any trouble from any camera or video anymore. i used to have the same problem and fixed it that easy.

For the price it's decent, however this isn't true HD, yes it has 1080 progressive scan lines. But the sensor isn't as sharp as others, but then again for the price it's very good!

For instance look at your hair, or rather how you camera pics up the detail in your hair! It just looks flat and black, normally you'd see strands of hair etc.

The cheaper the camera the worse it will handle low lighting.

All these issues come down to the sensor quality. Think about it like this, it's possible to buy cellphones that have an 8 Megapixel camera on them, but the quality is nothing in comparison to a Canon 350d which also shoots at 8Megapixel. While the spec may sound similar, it's not near the same.

Anyways, good review and just a little tip about the yellow tint, maybe try see if there is a WB (white balance) setting in the camera somewhere! :)

Coming from a person who has given reviews for the past 9 years-- your delivery is very good. Diction and content excellent.

The camcorder you used tends, at times, to make your face look washed out, but that's a technical issue. If I may suggest, this review would be perfect if you'd upload it to Amazon in the video product review section for this camcorder.

the image quality is pritty crappy. you dont need HD for that. It looks like 320x240 resized to HD size and blurred. For the price its ok, but nothing special since a good webcam delivers the same video quality.

I export it through Quicktime first and then bring it into Sony Vegas and everything works fine.

Yea I've Had Quicktime Pro for years now, it costs $30 I believe.

I export to MPEG-4 Video at between 2000-4000 kbps a keyframe every 24 frames at 30fps and quality set to best.

By the way as long as you use a size of at least 1280x720 and export to Best quality at at least 2,000kbps you will get the "HD" setting on YouTube.
