Light years away from the moonlit cantabile of the early nocturnes ... this piece, and its successor, Op 62, No. 2, are perhaps Chopin's most moving works. Sorrow beyond words.
@newFranzFerencLiszt Hm, youre right about this one, but op62 no2? I'm sorry, but i didn't really like that one. It seems kinda dull to me. Like this one way better, with all the double melodies and such

Has anyone ever heard this dude bust out the 5 piano concertos by Saint Saens? He's by far the best! Can't tell you how many times I've been so disappointed by another artist's performance. This dude ROCKS THE HOUSE! Peace out!
I listened him just a month ago in Bologna(at the age of 82!) with the 3th Beethoven concerto and the only thing I could say is that it was(and will remain)one of the most beautiful musical experiences of my life.
I listened to cicco a teatre de Champs Elysees with the same piece, he was absoulately great, he had an amazing sound, touch and there was grace in his playing! It makes me laugh to see sensitive pseudo-pianophiles commenting as ' horrible' for his playing, there are many pianophiles who have desconstructive criticism against pianists, but how many of them can play chopin like this man would be a good question!
natetabor has no knowledge about this kind of music.. I met Jean Yves Thibaudet a month ago. He was a student of Ciccolini. He also said Cicco was fabolous. So please stfu!
This shit is not good for my manic depression.

probably the most beautiful piece in the history of the piano - some of those colors are incredibly ahead of their time... note 1:05, 6:03, 6:47

I cannot add useful comment, just that there is not much place in my heart for this overwhelming beauty.

It's sad that Chopin had no idea how much his music would carry on through time. this piece is just beautiful! Everyone needs a little Chopin!

Wow! This nocturne is a horror to play...he plays it like a piece o' cake. And just listen to all those colours.
I cannot believe how beautifully he handles the trills.

Some very good and distinctive playing, in spite of the clattery trills and the memory lapse. Thanks for posting it.

This 82 years old master is colour-blind.
Yet he paints more colours in this Nocturne than many pianists of the younger generation. Wonderful playing.

You should not be allowed to speak about this man and about the chopin's music. Not at all

natetabor,
Please explain to us all why you think this is horrible. This man is a world class internationally
renowned concert pianist and recording artist.
As for your videos, why are all your clips 57 seconds
short? Play a entire composition, would you?
You shouldn't bash professionals!
