  • Sorry Wats, thought you knew. Melee detection is crap because of things like this. Why it takes priority on allies instead of enemies, I have zero idea. It's on the reasons Degroot is so brain dead. You can attack someone, but if an ally is nearby, it defaults to him. I've seen times there where there's one Red defending the last point with 3 BLUs attacking, but they can't hit anything since they're so bunched up.

  • @IrregularToaster Nope. I always play against great players, and I myself plus the enemy team use the Axtinguisher. It's not a bad weapon if you know how to use it. But if you are using the Axtinguisher, you go less as an Engy pocket, and more of a killer.

  • @HiImSuan Actually the flare gun maybe a better option for the combo,as it can crit enemies mid-air without having to wait them fall down to your melee range,and flare gun is the only weapon that can damage enemies from far distance(detonator and the other new weapon is actually the same,but they simply cant crit lit up enemies).However,if you want to use those 2 shotgun as your secondary or dont have other preferred melee weapons,the axtinguisher is not a bad option.

  • @HiImSuan Meh, I guess it's probably because I'm a huge Pybro, but in all the lobbies and ETF2L I've done I've never really seen opportunities where Axtinguishing would have been better than shotgunning or burning them.

  • It gets REALLY stupid when there isn't a teammate, you hit him once, and the second/third hit magically doesn't register even though you hear the Axe smacking his fat face.

  • @watsyurdeal You can melee enemies through friends, but you need about three hits in a row to kill an overheald, burning heavy with axtinguiser. I can see a total of three hits, but they aren't in a row... As conclusion; You couldn't hit a burning heavy who were shooting in an other direction trying to kill a spy?

  • @watsyurdeal I also noticed that you missed your manmelter shot in the first half of the video when the demoman jumped in front of it. On a Side note: you only hit the heavy once while he was on fire, the spy jumped in front of all the others. Actually, you hit him again while he wasn't on fire, but got torn to shreds the next second

  • @watsyurdeal I must say that argument is invalid. At the end of the video, you can see the heavy being backstabed by the same spy (deadringer) who, according to you; Prevented your kill. The backstab didn't make the crit noise either. I personaly sugest that you remove this video (or change the name and description) because this isn't in any way the spys mistake

  • @JLEpiphone pretty sure backstabs don't make noises, and unless he already changed the name and description, neither one say it was the spys fault (which is debatable)

  • @JLEpiphone No, if two allies are practically in the same spot, the engine will assume you mean to hit your ally instead of the enemy. By all means, the attacks should have landed and also been full crits. It's just one of the most nonsensical quirks of the Source engine.
