  • WOW What a Song, What a Band, What a Singer. I just wanna stand up and cheer!!!

  • i got the chills

  • John Fogerty kicked your ass Gilmour....sorry

  • isn't that Pino Palladino on bass???

  • That is not Bill Wyman, nor is it Bob Geldof. The keyboard player is Jools Holland, not Chris Stein.

  • Definitely Bill Wyman. He looks pretty damn good for an old guy too!

  • Cuando vendrá Al Fin del Mundo para que las Torres del Paine al fin puedan escuchar su música ?

  • Gilmour made the guitar weep and outstanding vocals.

  • Sensual as The Great Gig In The Sky and tripping as Shine On You Crazy Diamond... SO great !

  • I think that is paladino on the bass... but that top comment over there I think is the worst guess ever... Is really that missy elliot... I don't think so really... :/

  • Wow that lass can not half sing the BLUES, brilliant!.

  • @davism5 And of course Jools Holland.....

  • Wow! What an all star lineup! David Gilmour on guitar, Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones on bass, Chris Stein from Blondie on keyboard, Bob Gedolf on drums and Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot on the vocals!

  • @davism5 Except for David Gilmour, I don't know about the others you mention, but neither Bob Geldof nor Bill Wyman are the ones you say,

  • @PepeMoreno49 You are damn right!

  • @davism5 her name in mica paris... she's not fucking missy eliot

  • @anni00x You are damn right!

  • @davism5 Mica Paris shirley?

    TD

  • i entered the video because of Mr. Gilmour but i was so happy and touched with this interpretation so the moment just got bigger! bravo!

  • this is one of the most misattributed songs ever

  • A Gilmourish spell.

  • @whatspax

For me he looks like Pino Palldino in his younger years, but I may be wrong....

  • Holy shit...

    oh my God

  • Mica Paris and David Gilmour - an inspired pairing. Whoever thought of that deserves a knighthood.

  • This is on Jools Holland Album "Friends Vol 2" I think.

  • If you don't think She can sing-You're nuts

  • This is a good rendition...I just wish Piano Man hadn't said "he felt the blues coming on" though...I would of liked to turned into an MP3; still might! BTW, who is the vocalist? Anyone know? She looks familiar.

  • @noalittleaboutlot

    Micha Paris

  • is that bill wyman on bass?

  • @whatspax Don' think so. Looks like same player as with D.G. in 1984 concert video @ The Hammersmith Odeon.

  • wo's cuted the mike off the singer ?

  • woowww every one make love to the instrument yre holding .sweet song ,time less for sure ..i may dance slow mo to this for suro

  • David is a Wizard....Miguel Rodriguez, Germany...

  • his restraint at ~3min was masterful

  • It would be nice indeed....

  • Hey "CAT'S" I'm 58 years old,and David Gilmour is the same live as the studio tracks you buy!I seen them twice in 94 on the Pulse Tour, and this is a Artist who devoted his love for Blues first.

  • That looks like Mica Paris.

  • at 1:54 epic orgasm

  • who's the girl, she doesn't have a great voice at all, Gilmour alone would have been better, fuck!

  • did anyone understand the point of the girl on 0:03??

  • david baabaaaaa naaaptın sen yaaaaaaaaaaa boşaldım beeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Perfect!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Cool gals don't look at solos!

  • @mattaystig yeah thats cool.man but I personally thought smoking a joint with roger waters during his wall tour. Yeah beat that

  • i have met the legend david gilmour!!!what more can i say?????

  • Guitar was excellent, but the vocals lack that crazy desperation of the original, or even Diamanda Galas' version.

  • @skiamakhos

    very true

but i feel like if they hadsome crazy deep singer

it would take away from gilmour own interpretation of the song

  • who is that woman?

  • What''s the line-up? Gilmour, Jools Holland, Pino Palladino, Gilson Lavis ..I recognise the piano player, but I can't place him. Who's the singer?

  • @geffel Mica Paris

  • @mapkinase Wow there's a blast from the past. Any idea when the video was recorded?

  • @geffel the piano player IS Jools Holland :)

  • @alexxhje

I thin kJools is play organ on this one - there's another guy in a suit playing piano.

  • who's the gal?

  • B L U E -- F L O Y D

  • B L U E F L O Y D . . . .!!

  • Damn, I didn't know David Gilmour was a black woman. That would explain a lot, however.

  • @acr08807 it would, wouldnt it?

  • @acr08807 MICA PARIS

  • OMG this is so good

  • a muié canta demais!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this woman is rock on vocals!

  • ...so great! Goosebumps <3

  • Gotta give to the Animals & Screamin' Jay Hawkins

  • The best cover of "I put a spell on you".

  • @melancholic95 I do agree! What an awesome tune...!

  • So many wonderful versions of this classic. Try Audience - I Put A Spell On You here on the Tube.

  • whos singing

  • 5+

  • Like this version, but Nina is Better for me, and of course I love Creedence's Cover

  • Jools, for a nob he is brill.

  • If David thanks, such a good musician is, greets from Switzerland…

  • Carry me away to a better place in the arms of these awesome blues

  • I put a spell on you Because you're mine. You better stop The things that you're doing. I said "Watch out! I aingt lying, yeah! I aingt gonna take none of your Fooling around; I aingt gonna take none of your Putting me down; I put a spell on you Because you're mine. All right!
  • Can't believe David didn't do more blues...

  • @lonadiermd David IS the blues

  • @thebigdiegowski No doubt, and so much more!

  • Sorry can't say that like this. SJH did the best version of this song, but that's cause he wrote it. Second has to be CCR. I don't think you'll ever hear it done any better.

  • @VintageKustom Not even close dude lol. You didn't hear the version by Arthur Brown, mdgamaral has a copy of it on here. her is the link: Paste this into the YouTube search box: watch?v=k7MgohiD5Fk or, Go to my channel, Bloxorzwizard is my handle. The Trick RUNS channel has a link to it. That is IMHO the definitive version of this song. Msg me later and tell me what you think.

  • @BloxorzWizard Yeah....No, still not my cup of tea. See that is just my opinion and thats something that won't change. It's what makes us human. We all have our likes and dislikes and there is nothing wrong with that. The best thing about this is that we're all on here to listen to great music...No matter what kind it is and who's listening to it. Happy listening!!!

  • Mica Paris the best.

  • David Lynch on the drums...

  • @thebigdiegowski

I think it's Gilson Lavis from Squeeze on drums- always plays with Jools. Bassist looks like Pino Palladino, not sure about the keys though. (Sorry if you were trying to be ironic - and thought this was Twin Peaks!).

  • Move over Nina,My gosh this gal can sing.

  • Press "Like" if you entered the video because Mr. David Gilmour

  • oh my heart !!! stop your magic witch !!! you two sorcerer !!! stop it , gimme my heart back !

  • Talk about growing on a person, this version puts Pain in your soul in a GOOD way, can't believe Mica Paris and her vocal pipes along with being such a beautiful woman.A lot of talent in this small group!!!!!

  • grosaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • boring too soft! no thrill. david was not in his best day.... getting ol' gettin' soft??? i doubt ! david, david, c'mon you sure should rock it a bit more!!!

  • boring too soft! no thrill. david was not in his best day.... getting ol' gettin' soft??? i doubt ! david, david, c'mon you sure should rock it a bit more!!!

  • Awesome.

  • Would have loved to have been there in the studio when this was done - talk about shivers up the spine!

  • Gilmore ?

    Fantastic !

  • Jools Holland on piano, nice.

  • solid blues. very solid.

  • DAMN!

  • 1:50 come on.. come on.. come on... yeah...

  • Always fun to see and hear covers where the artist(s) put their own spin on a song rather than just playing it the same. And this version is MONEY! I love it!

Looks like they recorded this in someone's basement... that is a lot of talent for one small room!

  • gimee da blues, ya!! They've got it all !! I can die happy now

  • eargasm......!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking nice mann..

  • Mr. Gilmour, Mr. Fogerty would most definitely approve. I'd like to hear YOU sing the lyrics someday!

    peace

  • I hate it when a wildly interesting song is made more boring. This is the first version of this song I've ever heard that I thought missed the point. Screaming Jay would not be happy.

  • Yup, love this version. Nothing short from amazing.

  • cryosleep333..your right on the button man...what feeling..and every solo he does belongs in every song in pink floyd..nice one cryo

  • when was this recorded?

  • maybe the most covered song in the history... screamin' jay hawkins rocks.

  • Is that Pino Paladino on base..with hair?

  • @TheBluesnbob yup that's Pino. he was big into the fretless Music Man back then. He kinda started a trend with that actually, from Paul Young's Every Time You Go Away

  • @eugeneconrad

He is always seen with a Fiesta Red Fender P bass now! He is always working!

  • @TheBluesnbob I think Fender put out a Sig model based on that red P bass

  • Gilmour is GOD.

  • clapt.. uh, excuse me Gilmour is GOD ! :)

  • the hardest thing to play like gilmour does,is something that a lot of fast guitarrist players forget, is something called FEELING!!

  • cool vocal.great lead work! of course! Mr.Gilmore! yeah!

  • Is it just me, or does David Gilmour look like Al Gore?

  • @lolztehbuttsexxorz it's just you, ya faggot

  • @thepoofer

Funny comment, coming from a guy who calls himself "the poofter"

  • @lolztehbuttsexxorz It's just you *jk* :)

  • gilmour is GOD!

  • que manera de clip gracias por subir estas bellezas musicales

  • mirá que poronga que tengo! dice gilmour mientras toca...

  • Hoe de Hell is that Woman ?

  • @Rulaquo1 She's Mica Paris

  • Now I have 12 versions of this great song including Arthur Brown, Quicksilver and Howlin Wolf.

  • Couldn't find Leslie West's on here but this isjust as sexy!

  • This girl has such a beautiful mouth. Notice they omitted " What have you got in the bag bitch" lol

  • What's with the fiery woman at the beginning?

  • I thought this song couldn't be any better but david gilmour proove me wrong

  • All I can say is wow and thx....Cool as hell.....Peace

  • Niiiiiiiiccceeeee...... ^_^

  • Nice but Nina Simone's is the most chilin'

  • @galicius have you heard Joss Stone performing this song ? not to bad either.

  • @galicius No one better than Nina

  • @galicius No one better than Nina

However; Imagine David and Nina together

  • 5 ppl got the blues

  • Why everyone rates Hendrix over Gilmour is beyond me. Yes Jimmy laid down some pretty amazing licks, on the other hand, with half as notes, Gilmour paints much more of an emotional picture.

gwalj is correct in saying Pink Floyd would have never achieved the level in musical history withour Gilmour. Waters was incredible at writing, and Wright was heavily influential with has jazz leanings; the perfect package.

Also, Gilmour brought was an unmatched degree of techincial intelligence.

  • how does he do that sound at 2:01 ??

  • @Anaben11 I just love when he does it...

  • @Anaben11 he sort of flick's his wammy bar thing while he does a bend and add's his little finger on the string above at the same fret. Sorry I can't explain better, I play a gibson and although I can solo, I don't have a clue as to what half the name's for thing's are.

  • @Anaben11 This is merely the tremolo bar...

  • @Anaben11 He might do it with his mind. I believe he do voo doo magic with a strat that no one else on earth can do! :)

    peace

  • @Anaben11

He uses his tremolo bar at the same time as moving to another fret. You can also get the same affect by releasing a bend and rocking the bar back and forth gently.

Also, those EMG pickups and his custom mid boost really accentuates those harmonics. Just for the record, as much as a Gilmour fan I am, I just don't like his tone during this era. I am so glad he went back to the passive pickups... much more natural.

  • @jaystern71 I have the Gilmour EMG pickguard assembly. I've been playing it for years, LOVE IT. I personally love his tone with the EMGs. Of coarse, I really can't tell much difference

  • @motokev Well, that's what makes horse races. It is a very clean and powerful sound, and I can see why loads of people enjoy it. I just find them too clean, and the balance of harmonics sounds artificial.

The reason he used them back in the late 80s - early 90s was to cope with the interference the lighting system would produce. The single coils would hum like crazy, so an active pickup system cleared that up.

  • @jaystern71 yeah, we all know dat......

  • I love gilmour, but his 90ies haircut is pretty bad

  • @Anaben11 Um----he does not care :)

    peace

  • @Anaben11 back then when he HAD hair

  • Gilmour, Jools Holland, Pino Palladino the most amazing Blues players around

  • GILMORE is the BEST !!!!

  • du beau,des tripes,du coeur,grand moment d'emotion..

  • DAVID GILMOUR IS BLUES... HIS TONE IS TOO MUCH FOR MY FEELINGS!

  • I love Dave.

    I love this performance

    Great musicians

    Great Music

  • David Gilmour's phrasing is the finest in the world. Without that tone, style, and feel I doubt Pink Floyd would have achieved the acclaim they did (notwithstanding Roger Water's visionary creativity). The greatest loss to rock was when David and Roger parted ways...

  • ...this makes one's blues heart moving quicker

  • Please Note < This is called MUSIC unlike the shit dished up now !!!

  • wow

  • Thumbs up if you watched this 1213242343948938498398938948309849083908490 milllion times

  • Roger's great!!

  • It was around this time that "big" Dave appeared in Bottom with Adrian Edmondson!

  • ... doing the blues, just cool, life makes sense ....

  • youse eejits never heard of rory gallagher?

  • Oh shit it's Pino on the fretless. Hell of a band.

  • Marilyn Manson also covered this. I really haven't heard a version yet that I didn't like, but this is one of the better ones.

  • geratt!!! thank you :)

  • :-))))

  • If Gilmour player with Screamin Jay Hawkins, we could have the best song ever !

  • For me, the best guitarist alive...

But its hard to believe that 15 year before that video he was not hard from being a top model!

  • Gilmour can play blues guitar better than most people on the planet. Years ago Paul Rogers released a blues cover album called Muddy Water Blues which features some of the best guitarists on the planet. David Gilmour's guitar work on Standing Around Crying will put a chill up and down your spine!

  • CCR does a great version of this also.

  • wondervull!!!!

  • ultra white teeth

  • Is that a young Pino Paladino btw?

  • gilmore is such an underrated guitarists. solos etc. don't have to be fast to be good. theres so much feeling in every single note!

  • @timminity Underrated? I think everyone thinks he's great...!

  • Quite a change from PF for DG. Shows how diverse he is. Thx 4 the post.

  • why do i see that bass player everywhere! damn hes played with some legends

  • @achurch123

It's Pino Palladino one of the best session bassists in the world, usually plays a fretless. If you remember Paul Young from the 80's Pino's playing basically makes the song. look up "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down" for Pinos most famous sound
