Somebody who makes $300K a year and pays 1/3 in income tax is contributing $100K a year to the govt. It's easy for this stupid rich girl, who has never produced anything and has lived off of her parents, to belittle the work of someone making $300K per year. If it's so easy and not a big deal why doesn't she just go out and do it??
You'd be a fool to say an economy run purely on private business would thrive, as no private business can run at a loss for a gain in another portion of the economy. As for Osama, if you still believe some idiots in caves were able to pull off such an elaborate attack on U.S. soil, please stand up and slap yourself.
@AvatarOfStrife Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.
I like the ignorant tool that's angry that his company pays him $25 an hour and charges $75 for his services. He likely drives a company vehicle stocked with company equipment, receives benefits, has some kind of administrative and sales support that gets him the jobs he works, etc. All of these kinds of things cost money and come out of what his company charges it's customers. Most companies today work with pretty thin profit margins. His ignorance has made him a tool of leftist looters.
he wants osama bin laden to recieve a fair trial? bitch please when you commit an act of war against our country by being responsible for the death of over 3,000 civilians you loose your damn rights and we're going to shoot a bullet up your ass, end of story it doesnt hurt my feelings or those of the families who lost brothers sisters daughters mothers husbands fathers wives and sons...he needs to get is ass out of this country, try living in the middle east dumbass.
@CosmicCubensis they may not need to move overseas but if we are going to continue to have extremely high tax rates on them we are going to see more and more move out of the united states. high taxes isn't the solution to getting out of or debt crisis our nation should be encouraging innovation and starting more small businesses.
1:25 "capitalism sucks"? where did he get the money to make his way to the protest? how about the backpack? it's contents? his clothes? his place of residence?
What I hate about Liberals is that they think to win a debate or to look victorious means to continue talking as fast as possible with no breaks. As long as they are talking, they are winning the argument. But if you take the time to really listen to what they're saying, none of it makes sense, it is rarely relevant to the situation. They've been drugged up on the cough syrup MSNBC is distributing, and they feel as though if they talk long enough they'll stumble on to something profound.
I'm with the Tea Party protesters... Occupy seem like ... what is the word Hypocritical they verbally assault these guys. Calling them idiots, etc, but then complain when Police do the same??
I am sure the person who made this video went through and only used the protesters that had a bad run with these supposed tea partiers. Believe me, there are some very educated people that these guys were avoiding. Don’t make the mistake of turning you back on this very important movement, because you disagree with a couple protester. This movement is very diverse, so you will disagree with people. The most important thing I think all of us need to realize, is that we must unite for change.
@Owliganka one thing about the corporations is that people need to stop blaming the corporations, it's the big ceo up there making billions of money and without knowing what's going on. the ignorance, same problem with those yuppies and hippies out there in ows. i see both them them as brothers. this country is ran by the spoiled born rich people, left is dumb and childish and right is rich reedy bastards. what we need is that sense of climbing up, which is long lost in this country.
@Owliganka corporations are the one that creates jobs. the government should support these organization instead of tax the corporations. the very individual on the top is the one to be taxed as they have more money for them to spend for the next 200 years, as well as half of these ows yuppies and hipsters. they making more money than us minimum wagers, what they mad about honestly?
@CosmicCubensis- Corporations pay the taxes, but then add the same amount of the tax into their product, so they can keep the same profit margins. So the middle and lower class will be taxed more if you raise taxes on the 1%. Do you actually believe that the government gets all of its tax revenues from the bottom 90%? If you go to IRS.GOV you will see that the top 10% pays 65% of all taxes paid. The bottom 47% doesn't pay anything. The potus distorts the truth and you believe it!
@you831able I'm sorry, when did the 1% become corporations? They aren't actually people, despite what the supreme court says. Yes the government gets much of it's revenue from the top 1% because they have the most money. The top 1% though does find ways to get out of paying their taxes, and even if they do it affects them much less than if someone making 10000 a year would have to pay it. The bottom 47% does pay taxes, just not income.
@CosmicCubensis Then we should lower our corporate tax rate to 0% , see who really pays the taxes. The government would go broke in a week. Our country has the highest tax rates yet, people whine when companies move overseas. This is why all the money is in overseas bank accounts. What taxes do the bottom 47% pay? State? Property? Most get more money back by having children. If the corp. tax rate was 10% business would expand at unprecedented amounts, the middle class would pay..
@you831able The middle class would pay our tax burden by having jobs. Obama has done nothing but borrow and defer the inevitable to the next president. Obama's whole strategy is Saul Alinsky's, which nreaks down a country and forces socialism or communism. Research him, he taught Olinsky's principles to ACORN. One of the principles is to overload the gov't with entitlements (welfare) eventually the people out number the money, which breaks the country.
@you831able I'm glad to see that you would go there, I was expecting a socialist comment out of the blue any time now. We shouldn't get rid of the corporate tax rate, just hold the accountable to pay it and stop allowing the rich to get through loopholes to avoid paying it. And yes, they do pay state taxes on items, which affects the poorest of people a lot more than anyone else. And they get money back because they don't have enough to properly live. And this welfare queen myth
@CosmicCubensis You seem to be referring to in that "they'll just have more kids" is just that, a myth. There is no real evidence that anything like that actually exsits, or that lowering the corporate tax rate would do anything besides take it away from the federal government. They hardly pay any taxes now, what is lowering it going to do?
@you831able This is just a dumb argument. Bottom line Democrats want to take money away from the rich (theft), and give it to worthless uneducated air stealing future criminals, just to say " fair". We should be cutting all the spending and going back to when we just had the basics. Notice more people on welfare and medicaid than ever! Republicans want everybody to have less taxes. The Bush tax cuts included everybody. Democrats want the dependant serfs to vote democrat!!!!
@CosmicCubensis our country has a 35% tax rate on the profit corporations make. what happens is most coporations will either move to another country for example ireland which has one of the lowest tax rates in the world or they reinvest that money back into the buisness which funds research and creates jobs.
@pkdrew3 Not true actually. Many corporations can find ways to cut the amount they are supposed to pay in half, or even just pay nothing at all...even get money back from the government. They don't need to move their things oversees, but they will do that, you are correct.
We are poor! We hate successful hard working people! They should let us poo and camp on private parks and streets! We are retarded! Join the movement! Save the U.S. from an evil capitalist fate!
It is so sad to see concerned citizens attacking one another, instead of finding common ground and moving forward together. Arguing used to be a method of learning. Now we use arguing as a way to shout out our previously decided-upon viewpoints. Why? Open your minds. Stop name-calling. Try listening. =) I love you all. Jerkfaces.
Nothing better than watching a a bunch of politically incompedents argue about what our country needs. what our country needs is better parenting. better teachers, better leaders and rolemodels. cause as time goes on, I really think the human race is getting more stupid as far as how the world and our country or system works.
you have to raise your kids with more than a hug, a donut, pop and video games.
I BELIEVE THE CHANGE HAS TO START AT HOME.. After the change within has taken place...
Tea Partyers are symptoms of a dumed down TV Nation, they have no idea that they are in the same boat as the rest of the world, so sad, but its ok, the kids will rise up and be smart enough for these older generations who have been lied and manipulated there entire lives
@skoona08 If it weren't fo unions "American" cars would be 100% produced in the United States, rather than Mexico, China, and various nations in South America, Those companies went there because the unions made it to expensive to create innovation in regards to their products in the US. Perhaps the unions of the past were needed, but the unions of the present are a constrictor and a root cause of the loss of industry in the United States.
@gumako Yuor analysis and reasoning for companies to export jobs over seas, is wrong and simply a lie that you bought from the Tea party mis-informed crown. The reason for companies to export jobs overseas is money, Mexico, China and many South American Countries don't have the standard or a constitutional protection that we do here. Nothing but greed and with subsidies that you and I provide with our tax dollars. CEOS make MILLIONS workers lose their jobs WALL ST makes MILLIONS.
The guy with the red backpack is making $25 an hour and his company is billing $75? Doesn't he realize the company has to subsidize his vacation, healthcare, holidays, and pay 15% on his ss tax. They also have to supply the physical needs for him to do his job like possibly a computer, desk, lighting, building rental and maintenance or possibly a vehicle and tools etc. Also they have to do office work for him like taxes, 401(k) payroll and other personnel support. He obviously never ran...
... a business and has no clue what it entails. And then there is the issue of what he is really worth. Leave the union and go out in the market place where most people live and find out what your real worth is pal.
@prrolg 25 bucks an hour man...that's quite a lot. if it's down to me i could have go to vegas every once a while. see that's one thing i don't understand about these leftists. they're having it really good as many people out there trying to survive on minimum wages. he should appreciate the fact that he has it better than others rather than joining ows.
@therealaznmuthafuca I wonder if the guy ever had a non union job other than maybe a part time job as a teenager or whatever. It would be interesting to talk to the guy to see.
@prrolg i highly doubt about that. not even a part time job as a teen. most of these leftist hipsters are clueless about what's really out there. they never have experience of climbing up ladders in order to get what they want. neither their parents nor the asianized american education system that encourages book smart rather than real experiences let them to. this is a common problem in modern america.
@therealaznmuthafuca I was just discussing with a friend today how the school systems ruin kids in the 10th through 12th grades wasting their time teaching them worthless shit when they could have been learning real world talents and skills in a tech school. Something that pertains to what they really do for a living. He said to notice how many tech schools night divisions are filled up with people improving their actual career skills with what they didn't learn in public s.
@prrolg well this is an honest answer from me. i think that we needs to change the requirement of college and university. nobody without a certain amounts of working experience can attend college nor university. the sense of people climbing up to get what they want is long lost in this country. with working experiences, people will actually have enough maturity and money in order to go to school. there are many other ways of living and make big money without college.
@prrolg people needs to stop trying to look for a fake sense of security from the real world and learn to think outside of box. a suburban house, a suv with shitloads of morgage, a soccer mom is NOT the only future out there, i'm an immigrant from other country and i know this better than many americans.
@prrolg by changing the requirement of attending college, we're making college and university a real institute for people to learn something they want to do instead of a fake sense of safety from the real world. also, lower the minimum age of working and living on your own to 14. how old is 14 anyways? if girls acting like sluts and guys are bunch of wannabe gangsta, then they're more mature than what people think. if they're mature, then we should let them do something on their own...
@prrolg ...instead of being overprotective. that way people won't become another clueless hipster and yuppie when they're in their 20's and we'll shake off many of these "liberals". also it will solve the problems if children got an abusive family. it's healthy and economically making sense. there's more to do to fix this country from the problems we're having now. this shit is gigantically complicated and i don't have enough space here.so just pm me.
@prrolg yes, and dont forget business development itself, his company had to secure the jobs hes working on that pay him. As someone who has ran a small business, that shit is hard. If he thinks its bs he needs to go out on his own and do his own business dev.
@DocGorilla I know that you are right. I had a small painting company for a while and dealing with the customer was the hardest part. You are actually selling yourself. The work was physically hard but a no brainer. Keeping the customer happy while the work is going on takes all you've got. It's also the most rewarding part and develops you as a person. Building a reputation is key as well. Then contracts come to you more than having to chase...
@usjets08 It is NOT a Rich Vs Poor thing - that is what the anti-American forces want you to believe - and that is what is wrong with OWS. Those behind this movement are trying to set us against each other - to divide us, and it is very dangerous to the very survival of freedom in our nation.
@bbow73 Here is how you do that. Repeal the 17th Amendment and repeal the law that was passed under Woodrow Wilson (the worst president ever) that limited congress to 435 members. Restore it to the constitutional number of 1 representative for ever 30,000 people. Voting could be done online and the reps would not have to leave their district.
But doing that senators would answer to the state and there would be just far too many reps in the House for business to buy.
I'd rather be around open minded youths standing up for what they believe in than a bunch of overly patriotic hicks still trying to prove that "Obama is one'dem gotdamn terrurrrrissts".
become realistically informed as opposed to malinformed. It's your choice; do you want to hear biased news or the REAL thing? To watch this global uprising live, go to: livestream. com / global revolution (Omit all spaces). You can also chat live w/people all over the world. VERY INFORMATIVE
@dadoody I don't know about you, but these guys look, well, gay. Your little teabaggers are either metros or old white farts! You live in a sad, sad world.
@dadoody I think they expose the general ignorance of the whole country. Before this started I had no idea that our elected representatives only represent the 1% through lobby contributions and bribes.
Its funny that when these OWS idiots get stuck they say crap like "you cant talk to these people because they are uneducated" and walk away. Dumbfucks.
The problem with the big corporations is that they expand with greed (off shore) and ease out the ma and pa businesses. There are so many subtle monopolies. Mega corporations (not small/mid-size businesses) are dictating this country. Now they have the pea brained tea party to fight their battle to not pay taxes and/or preserve their tax breaks and loops. The interviewer here is a clueless tool. He needs to get his young ass out and work for a large corporation a few years.
It's fitting that these guys have a "Support our Troops" sign. The group behind this video was all about pushing the war in Iraq. So much for supporting the troops. How about those WMD's, buddy? Nice GOP talking points there.
@RCrooklyn Too bad all those soldiers who fought in Iraq VOLUNTEERED to go dipshit. And just because the baathists didn't have stockpiles of WMD's (which was a good thing by the way) didn't mean that Iraq had no capabilty or intent for WMD's.Read the ENTIRE ISG and come back here.
@Christian121y I call bullshit on you, my friend. I have read the entire ISG. I've also know about Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, and the Dick Cheney/Scooter Libby DOCTORED Intel Assessment. The war was a sham, plain and simple. The only people who justify it are those who made a ton of money, or complete sheep.
@Christian121y Actually, Bush was pissed cuz sadaam was ripping him off blood money. get the facts instead of letting Fox screw with your head. It's obvious that you truly are ingnorant about what's going on in the real world. Only cowards hide behind Foxlies media. coward!
@Trashfished funny. I could say the same thing about you. Oh, and I'm too old to enjoy MTV any more. I now enjoy watching Tom Hartmann and Free Speech TV. Channel 9415 on dish and 348 on direct tv. You ought to check them out sometime. Too bad the government has us so divided. How does that old saying go? United we stand, divided we fall. And by the way, I love jon stewart.
Respond to this video... Damn, the level of ignorance on these teabag vids! A dark reminder of what I have to share MY universe with! It's clear you miseducated, malinformed idiots have been watching The evil talking heads on, well you know what media I'm talking about. The truth shall set you free!!!!
That young 21 year old man with the cool $300 sunglasses is just another rich 1%er sad that his father might stand to be broke very soon. The 99% must be heard, and people like that young man just don't get it and like the rest of the 1% he was not listening to anyone.... TAX the rich at 50%. The rich are corrupt and this young man is one of "them". Ego sucks and all that young man is made of is "ego". 911 was an inside job and someday the truth will be told. Watch "The Inside Job" PLEASE!
@WorldSpeakOut actually the 50% are being taxed to pay for the social programs to support the other. Its already going on, and when you talk about raising awareness on the inside job its already been debunked.
Even though Jet-Fuel doesnt burn hot enough to melt steel, they would have also carried tanks full of the mind-control agents airliners use to make chemtrails... ans WHO KNOWS what temperature THAT stuff burns at!
Moron said "I wanted Osama tried by a judge and jury". But, was Osama IN U.S. jurisdiction when he organized/funded the 911 attacks? WHAT jurisdiction do we have over the place where he WAS at the time of his "crime"? Unless we have the power to make laws governing citizens of other countries acting IN their countries.... HOW could we have put him on trial? He committed an act of war, and the US military fought back - and I support it 100%.
This is a good counterpoint to a lot of the rhetoric of occupy. However, I think these three guys are close minded and overly combative. the TEA party wants smaller government... That is a legitimate aim. Occupy wants smaller less powerful corporations and banking institutions. The want more equality.. Those are legitimate goals as well. Open your minds conservatives can change more together.
@mikeohoh7 that is idiotic. America is a land of freedom, so if you don't like certain things, like slavery or child labor, you work to change it for the better. so saying if you don't like it then leave is anti-freedom and anti-American. tea party people always say that...but THEY are protesting things they don't like...so why don't they leave?
Hey dumb fuck Corp.. left in the 90's with NAFTA Thats why there aren't any jobs left in the United States. THey can get slave labor overseas why stay here?
Look at Scandinavia and western Europe. Those are socialist leaning countries. Look at how much better their education systems are. Look at how there is very little crime. Look at the very little poverty that they have. Look at how happy they are. Look at how healthy they are. Look at their retirement plan. Look at the responsible individuals that pay taxes. Look at the social mobility they have. Look at how open-minded they are. Look at non-imperialist they are.
@TheQuaker10 and look at how expensive things are there, and look at how their economies are in worse shape than ours. Dipshit, they are running out of other peoples money!
@Chiliconnada And capitalism is working here? With the top 1% having over 50% of the nation's wealth? With there only being downward social mobility for the last 30 years? Yes, Countries like Greece and Italy are examples of Socialism gone bad. But we are an example of Capitalism gone bad. These Scandinavian countries are different from Greece because people actually pay their taxes, and guess what? People who live there actually like those systems and don't mind paying taxes.
@TheQuaker10 capitalism isnt here its corporatism capitalism is perfect its corporatism that is bad its our government being so big that its in bed with corporations
@bergaflickal Yes I do agree with you. But corporatism is born from unregulated capitalism. This isn't an issue of how big our government is. It is the people in our government who are in bed with the corporations (i.e. Republicans and Dems) just like you said. If anything corporations get more power when the government is too small. It is true that capitalism can work well and has worked well in the past, specifically more than 30 years ago. People simply want FAIR capitalism.
@TheQuaker10 i have to disagree because the bigger gov gets the more corrupt individuals get involved corporatism isnt born from capitalism its born from government intervention like the bailouts , its born from government prop ups like solyndra, etc etc capitalism and corporatism are enemies of each other because one needs a free market to survive the other needs what people percieve as "free" while really just funneling money
@bergaflickal I think that that certainly plays a role but I think its a lack of regulation that allows corporate elites to take advantage of loopholes and not pay taxes.Remember corporations are profit driven, unlike the government. When they have the chance ceos will give themselves 3 billion dollar bonuses.Hence the 1% has over 50% of all wealth. Then we get the corrupt people in gov who lobby for elites and want the market untouched. European gov'ts are large yet they don't have corporatism.
@TheQuaker10 of course there a loop holes which need to be closed and regulations need to be on predatory practices like that of banks who sell packages they bet against however barack obama just hired a major lobbyist for his senior campaign advisor position and look at france and other places in europe corporatism has taken the whole world that and socialism are killers of free market and they begin to run rampant in times like these
@TheQuaker10 It works for me, I own my own construction business, I worked my ass off for what I have. Take a look at politicians as the problem not capitalists. Sorry about the dipshit thing.
@Chiliconnada Apology accepted, and you are right politicians have a lot to do with it. Corporate, military, and political elites are all the problem. I'm glad that things have worked out for you.
There is no such thing as a pure capitalist society, nor a socialist society. How do you think we get our police, fire, ambulances, public libraries, medicare, medicade, transportation etc.? Those are all public social services aren't they? Are we really that far from being socialist? not really. We just happen to favor the capitalist side if the spectrum. People just want to move a little bit further towards the left.
Capitalism has nothing to do with the constitution...capitalism does not bring freedom it violently imposes poverty and death for profit. This is tyranny.
This latest incarnation of "capitalism" was inspired by the atheist, sociopath Ayn Rand. Read her diary. She was a textbook sociopath. She was Reagan and Greenspan's mentor. Who started the Neocon movement? The Neocons have been duped. Educate yourself and stop ditto-ing Rush, unless, after all you are just another ditto-head (i.e., parrot). Rush makes fun of you every single day and you don’t even notice...
You people should be protesting the Federal Reserve Bank, it's a private corporation owned by Global Bankers. Do a search on Jekyll Island. These bankers control the United States and fund wars to make profit. They own most large corporations. We are slaves, if your home is paided off after 30 years and u don't pay the property tax u lose it. Is that Freedom? Wake Up, there still may be hope
hahahaha...this video is hilarious. I love all the people that aren't even close to economists or educated try to argue with people that love freedom!
At 21 this kid is smarter and more confident than any of the morons who approached him. The $25/hr guy really has it hard. Give me a break. There are people that would come to north America just to know there is a law that keeps their workers rights enforced! Fuck off hippies!
The rich have to pay their taxes and at the same time.. there needs to be more freedom of speech in place.. This freedom of speech needs to be free! IF YOU ARE GOING TO START TO MENTION THE GREAT FREEDOMS WE HAVE IN THIS COUNTRY!! Cause sometimes you have the freedom to speak but you have to pay for it. For instance Israel...that city would not exist if it was not payed for with taxing the rich. Also greece is another example of bad leadership building a huge Olympic style stadium...being one
@deeppurple28 The bankers own most of the U.S. Corporations in China. They set up in China to make more profit. Our money is going out and hardly any coming back in the country. The Global Bankers will suck every last dime we have. Go for the Head, Close the Federal Reserve Private Global Bank
Most of the useful idiots don't know what capitalism is. We should hand out fliers or something and teach them so they understand. Squaters are clueless.
I think the striped tie kid kinda tuned out there for a minute....he's programmed. Why have corporations had to outsource factories to remain competitive around the world? How has Free Market; which has made us dependent on foreign oil, improved our quality of life here in the US? Striped-shirt girl dismantles striped-tie clone. Funny stuff.
It's really annoying to hear these people talk because fah fah give ten percent of your money charity fah fah fah I have money and you don't fah fah fah fah
@drysift He doesn't know the value of money because he's never had to work a damn day in his life he seems to think freedom means freedom to be greedy if you've worked hard for what you've got then good on you but if you've got money through birthright you have no say in this because it probably wouldn't effect you anyway you'll still have more money than you need
Capitalism is not sexy and neither is socialism there needs to be a balance of the two because both systems are very flawed alone which is why america is so fucked up because they have almost a pure capitalist economy and they partially caused this recession because of that
The Tea Party has just lost all credibility with me. They have proven themselves the supporters of the Fascist takeover of our government. They are the brainwashed Parrots of the Fascist Wall Street financiers!
@45AlanT How? By supporting the free market and capitalism that built this country? By encouraging people to be self reliant and provide for themselves and their families, and not dependent on the government funded by someone else who works for a living to support them?
As fun as it is to watch a hippy try and work their way out of the crushing grip of logic, the fact that they try when the proof is right in their faces is mildly infuriating, I'm not sure I can continue watching these vids... oh hell yes I can! They're addictive :D
Oh by the way: "tolerant" is spelled with one "L", you brainiacs. I suggest a good portion of reading. Maybe your "arguements" (let's rather call it polemic) would improve, too.
Did that hippie seriously want Bin Laden to be put on trial? LOL WHAT A MORON! These Occupy dummies don't get it obviously, if they would take all of their grievances and complaints against corporations and capitalism and wall street and instead aim them at our GOVERNMENT that has caused all of this mess by making it harder and harder for companies to hire people and pay them fairly because the companies are getting taxed out the ass, THEN the Occupy movement would be worth listening to.
Completely off topic. Does any of you conservative kids have a link to a right wing CONSERVATIVE DOCUMENTARY SITE????? Google doesn't know one. I watch bucketloads and i am so curious after reading all these dumb remarks were you get your information?

Believe me, there are some very educated people that these guys were avoiding. Don’t make the mistake of turning you back on this very important movement, because you disagree with a couple protester. This movement is very diverse, so you will disagree with people. The most important thing I think all of us need to realize, is that we must unite for change.

Owliganka 2 months ago
@Owliganka one thing about the corporations is that people need to stop blaming the corporations, it's the big ceo up there making billions of money and without knowing what's going on. the ignorance, same problem with those yuppies and hippies out there in ows. i see both them them as brothers. this country is ran by the spoiled born rich people, left is dumb and childish and right is rich reedy bastards. what we need is that sense of climbing up, which is long lost in this country.
therealaznmuthafuca 2 months ago
@Owliganka corporations are the one that creates jobs. the government should support these organization instead of tax the corporations. the very individual on the top is the one to be taxed as they have more money for them to spend for the next 200 years, as well as half of these ows yuppies and hipsters. they making more money than us minimum wagers, what they mad about honestly?
therealaznmuthafuca 2 months ago
@therealaznmuthafuca Wow, you actually believe Corporations are taxed, how adorable.
CosmicCubensis 1 month ago
@CosmicCubensis- Corporations pay the taxes, but then add the same amount of the tax into their product, so they can keep the same profit margins. So the middle and lower class will be taxed more if you raise taxes on the 1%. Do you actually believe that the government gets all of its tax revenues from the bottom 90%? If you go to IRS.GOV you will see that the top 10% pays 65% of all taxes paid. The bottom 47% doesn't pay anything. The potus distorts the truth and you believe it!
you831able 4 weeks ago
@you831able I'm sorry, when did the 1% become corporations? They aren't actually people, despite what the supreme court says. Yes the government gets much of it's revenue from the top 1% because they have the most money. The top 1% though does find ways to get out of paying their taxes, and even if they do it affects them much less than if someone making 10000 a year would have to pay it. The bottom 47% does pay taxes, just not income.
CosmicCubensis 3 weeks ago
@CosmicCubensis Then we should lower our corporate tax rate to 0% , see who really pays the taxes. The government would go broke in a week. Our country has the highest tax rates yet, people whine when companies move overseas. This is why all the money is in overseas bank accounts. What taxes do the bottom 47% pay? State? Property? Most get more money back by having children. If the corp. tax rate was 10% business would expand at unprecedented amounts, the middle class would pay..
you831able 3 weeks ago
@you831able The middle class would pay our tax burden by having jobs. Obama has done nothing but borrow and defer the inevitable to the next president. Obama's whole strategy is Saul Alinsky's, which nreaks down a country and forces socialism or communism. Research him, he taught Olinsky's principles to ACORN. One of the principles is to overload the gov't with entitlements (welfare) eventually the people out number the money, which breaks the country.
you831able 3 weeks ago
@you831able I'm glad to see that you would go there, I was expecting a socialist comment out of the blue any time now. We shouldn't get rid of the corporate tax rate, just hold the accountable to pay it and stop allowing the rich to get through loopholes to avoid paying it. And yes, they do pay state taxes on items, which affects the poorest of people a lot more than anyone else. And they get money back because they don't have enough to properly live. And this welfare queen myth
CosmicCubensis 3 weeks ago
@CosmicCubensis You seem to be referring to in that "they'll just have more kids" is just that, a myth. There is no real evidence that anything like that actually exsits, or that lowering the corporate tax rate would do anything besides take it away from the federal government. They hardly pay any taxes now, what is lowering it going to do?
CosmicCubensis 3 weeks ago
@you831able This is just a dumb argument. Bottom line Democrats want to take money away from the rich (theft), and give it to worthless uneducated air stealing future criminals, just to say " fair". We should be cutting all the spending and going back to when we just had the basics. Notice more people on welfare and medicaid than ever! Republicans want everybody to have less taxes. The Bush tax cuts included everybody. Democrats want the dependant serfs to vote democrat!!!!
you831able 3 weeks ago
@CosmicCubensis our country has a 35% tax rate on the profit corporations make. what happens is most coporations will either move to another country for example ireland which has one of the lowest tax rates in the world or they reinvest that money back into the buisness which funds research and creates jobs.
pkdrew3 3 weeks ago
@pkdrew3 Not true actually. Many corporations can find ways to cut the amount they are supposed to pay in half, or even just pay nothing at all...even get money back from the government. They don't need to move their things oversees, but they will do that, you are correct.

@skoona08 If it weren't fo unions "American" cars would be 100% produced in the United States, rather than Mexico, China, and various nations in South America, Those companies went there because the unions made it to expensive to create innovation in regards to their products in the US. Perhaps the unions of the past were needed, but the unions of the present are a constrictor and a root cause of the loss of industry in the United States.
gumako 2 months ago
@gumako Yuor analysis and reasoning for companies to export jobs over seas, is wrong and simply a lie that you bought from the Tea party mis-informed crown. The reason for companies to export jobs overseas is money, Mexico, China and many South American Countries don't have the standard or a constitutional protection that we do here.

He said to notice how many tech schools night divisions are filled up with people improving their actual career skills with what they didn't learn in public s.
prrolg 2 months ago
@prrolg well this is an honest answer from me. i think that we needs to change the requirement of college and university. nobody without a certain amounts of working experience can attend college nor university. the sense of people climbing up to get what they want is long lost in this country. with working experiences, people will actually have enough maturity and money in order to go to school. there are many other ways of living and make big money without college.
therealaznmuthafuca 2 months ago
@prrolg people needs to stop trying to look for a fake sense of security from the real world and learn to think outside of box. a suburban house, a suv with shitloads of morgage, a soccer mom is NOT the only future out there, i'm an immigrant from other country and i know this better than many americans.
therealaznmuthafuca 2 months ago
@prrolg by changing the requirement of attending college, we're making college and university a real institute for people to learn something they want to do instead of a fake sense of safety from the real world. also, lower the minimum age of working and living on your own to 14. how old is 14 anyways? if girls acting like sluts and guys are bunch of wannabe gangsta, then they're more mature than what people think. if they're mature, then we should let them do something on their own...
therealaznmuthafuca 2 months ago

@bbow73 Here is how you do that. Repeal the 17th Amendment and repeal the law that was passed under Woodrow Wilson (the worst president ever) that limited congress to 435 members. Restore it to the constitutional number of 1 representative for ever 30,000 people. Voting could be done online and the reps would not have to leave their district.
But doing that senators would answer to the state and there would be just far too many reps in the House for business to buy.

Yes, Countries like Greece and Italy are examples of Socialism gone bad. But we are an example of Capitalism gone bad. These Scandinavian countries are different from Greece because people actually pay their taxes, and guess what? People who live there actually like those systems and don't mind paying taxes.

@TheQuaker10 capitalism isnt here its corporatism capitalism is perfect its corporatism that is bad its our government being so big that its in bed with corporations
bergaflickal 3 months ago
@bergaflickal Yes I do agree with you. But corporatism is born from unregulated capitalism. This isn't an issue of how big our government is. It is the people in our government who are in bed with the corporations (i.e. Republicans and Dems) just like you said. If anything corporations get more power when the government is too small. It is true that capitalism can work well and has worked well in the past, specifically more than 30 years ago. People simply want FAIR capitalism.
TheQuaker10 3 months ago
@TheQuaker10 i have to disagree because the bigger gov gets the more corrupt individuals get involved corporatism isnt born from capitalism its born from government intervention like the bailouts , its born from government prop ups like solyndra, etc etc capitalism and corporatism are enemies of each other because one needs a free market to survive the other needs what people percieve as "free" while really just funneling money
bergaflickal 3 months ago
@bergaflickal I think that that certainly plays a role but I think its a lack of regulation that allows corporate elites to take advantage of loopholes and not pay taxes.Remember corporations are profit driven, unlike the government. When they have the chance ceos will give themselves 3 billion dollar bonuses.Hence the 1% has over 50% of all wealth. Then we get the corrupt people in gov who lobby for elites and want the market untouched. European gov'ts are large yet they don't have corporatism.
TheQuaker10 3 months ago
@TheQuaker10 of course there a loop holes which need to be closed and regulations need to be on predatory practices like that of banks who sell packages they bet against however barack obama just hired a major lobbyist for his senior campaign advisor position and look at france and other places in europe corporatism has taken the whole world that and socialism are killers of free market and they begin to run rampant in times like these

The rich don't want to lose a tiny bit of their money that they wont miss really oh boo hoo go cry to your butler you smug bastard
Chrisindapurplehouse 3 months ago
Capitalism is not sexy and neither is socialism there needs to be a balance of the two because both systems are very flawed alone which is why america is so fucked up because they have almost a pure capitalist economy and they partially caused this recession because of that

The Tea Party has just lost all credibility with me. They have proven themselves the supporters of the Fascist takeover of our government. They are the brainwashed Parrots of the Fascist Wall Street financiers!

@45AlanT How? By supporting the free market and capitalism that built this country? By encouraging people to be self reliant and provide for themselves and their families, and not dependent on the government funded by someone else who works for a living to support them?
bpet7138 3 months ago
@45AlanT They meant good in the beginning, but as soon as politicians infiltrated them they rolled down hill.

Maybe your "arguements" (let's rather call it polemic) would improve, too.
kowalski911 3 months ago
Did that hippie seriously want Bin Laden to be put on trial? LOL WHAT A MORON! These Occupy dummies don't get it obviously, if they would take all of their grievances and complaints against corporations and capitalism and wall street and instead aim them at our GOVERNMENT that has caused all of this mess by making it harder and harder for companies to hire people and pay them fairly because the companies are getting taxed out the ass, THEN the Occupy movement would be worth listening to.
