I'm an amateur classical guitarist with passion for tremolo technique.
Your tremolo in this video and other video are very powerfull but smooth. Can you give me some basica tip on how to practice to make it even like yours.
I saw and trying to follow your lesson on fast scale and tremolo by pressing the string down and using flesh rather than nail alone. In fact I already cut down my nails to the minimum.
I am making progress but my problem now is how to make it even.

Hey GRISHA!!! I thought i've had enough of your technical capabilities. You seem to literally BLOW ME AWAY with every new video!!! i'm scared to view your videos now! you're too good!
I have one thing to say to you! GOD BLESS YOUR CAREER!!!!
There's always a moment in the life of a music student where an invisibles obstacle appears to hinder the musical progress. Every time I smash into that wall, I desperatly come to listen and see this video, so that I can jump the problem and continue. Thank you for your blessed hands.
Grisha, do you compose as well? As you know, flamenco guitarists usually play their own pieces. That´s no criticism, just curiosity. I prefer your musical interpretations to the compulsory tunes composed by 95 percent of guitarists. You´re a very accomplished musician.
Just don't listen to that crap comments Grisha. Some guitarists can't accept the idea that in the world there are guitarists better than them. It's an old story. Your talent it's not object of discussion. Prekrassnaya rabota Grisha. Bolschoe spossibo. Outstanding Grisha.
You are free to express your opinion regarding my playing. But I will not tolerate race-related comments like the one above. To answer your question, no, I am not Jewish. But I don't welcome racist comments.

yea, i knew u were watching the debate with interest, and that remark would get u out of the bush. But Grisha is a jewish name an u do look jewish... so do u mind that i keep refering to u as a jew. or perhaps u have an issue with the jews?
Grisha. I've played classical guitar since the age of 6 and later I also started to play some flamenco. I've taught classical guitar for years. To make a long story short, I was never really able to resolve the technical discrepancies between the two equally demanding and rewarding styles. You have. You are the most gifted guitar player I've ever seen or heard, bar none. I've seen all of your UTube videos a number of times. Your playing proves a profound understanding of music. Keep it up.
U suck seriously dick Soulfree2008 and 15 years is not enough for you to learn this. u think its only a matter of technique!! hahaha... well thats exactly your problem. u let yourself be impressed with technique.
CT2507, what are you doing here? The real place for your special brain is far away from music. I think you are a part of sado-mazo -sexual clan of idiots who play with stolen computers and kill their time before and after prisons where the real place is for all of you.
Maravilloso, please upload more video about technical things. Your video "things to remenber..." made me improve as never done, you are not only a great player, a great teacher too. Thank a lot from Spain.
Hi Grisha, I like all your videos and guitar tips, very very helpful but...could you explain the basic finger mechanism of Manolo's tremolo? Is it piamiami or pimiami or what?
@mininocurro That is sad to hear brother, but I am almost certain you can contact/feel him in some way when in a state of mind where you are when playing the guitar!
In Flamenco life, with guitar my age is about 2.5. but yesterday I experienced for the first time a trance state with cante when singing to a Bulerias, it was amazing!
I have noticed that whenever someone plays an instrument near flawlessly, whether it be piano, guitar, xylaphone or kazoo, a bunch of people will complain that he plays without feeling.
That's because they usually can't play them themselves very well...Monday morning Quarterbacks? I think so....Listen to Kaori Maraji a female classical player from Japan. She blows me away! I did not find one person who complained about her....Cheers...Dan
I've been playing flamenco guitar for a few decades and have listened to all the masters on recording and live. One of the remarkable features of Grisha's work is his uncanny ability to capture the lyrical intent of the composer in his interpretation. From a sabicas danza arabe to a paco cepa andaluza to this sanlucar rondena - all strikingly different guitar poems having nothing to do with each other, and here all strinkingly rendered by this young master. It's called "musicianship."
CT2507, with each post you make yourself look even more stupid and foolish, you really are pathetic and having looked at your channel judging by your one and only video, a childish game, that just about sums up what you are about.
you are beneath contempt, and one jealous and spiteful little prick. There seems to be two letters missing between the C and T in your nick, I reckon your childish little mind can probably work out what they are.
I have to agree. But don't play his little game. He'll only post more replies. People like CT2507 are best ignored. He has nothing positive to contribute to the world and his comments will only spoil your day. Whereas, Grisha's playing on the other hand, really inspires.
you say that like his accomplished nothing. Or imitating is so easy to do. I know that you would love to be able to play any manolo sanlucar pieces. Thats what grisha is doing, he loved the music so much he decided to learn how to play it, instead of just being able to listen to it...i think thats amazing. if there weren't people like him the music would die...
Its like no matter how good a person is, someone always has to criticize, shut up and enjoy the music as a world listener. HIS NOT A ROBOT. HIS AN AMAZING ARTIST WHO HAS MASTERED BOTH FLAMENCO AND CLASSICAL AS RECOGNIZED BY PACO AND MANY OTHER ORGANIZATION AND WELL RESPECTED SCHOOLS AND EDUCATORS THAT KNOW FAR MORE THEN YOU'LL EVER KNOW ABOUT FLAMENCO CT2507. next time you have a thought let it go..
CT2507 have you lost your mind? no sensitivity or soul? what are you basing your comment on? just by watching him play? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE TO PLAY AT THIS LVL AND HAVE NO SOUL OR SINSITIVITY. If you look at his autobiography you can see that he was grassed and looked after by PACO DE LUCIA to come to USA to further his PASSION of the music. btw i've seen him live and his even more amazing.
Yes just by watching him play ... and listening too! What else is their to judge from!?
He is too young to have that sensibility and soul im talking about, specialy in flamenco. Flamenco is an art form that requires more than just good technicality and speed. It requires LIFE EXPERIENCE! Which Grisha doesnt have so much of yet. He plays it mechanicaly.
And i do hope that Paco de Lucia will take him in and teach him. He could become very good with time.
watch: "Guitar played by robot" and u'll see what Grisha reminds me of. His notes sound the same no matter what he plays. He sounds like a machine. and then listen to Manolo Sanlucar playing this same piece. There is a huge diference. If u cant hear and feel the diference there is no use continuing this talk. U will understand later perhaps.
He is great for his age, regardless of the fact that he is not up there with Tomatito. The "soul" you are talking about will come with time, but the most important element that he does possess is the passion to keep on playing and progressing.
CT2507 having soul and sensibility for any art form starts from a young age and only grows as you grow as a person. He may never gain the flamenco characteristics that your familiar with as art, because maybe you grew up with the music and are used to seeing it in a particular way. But as far as calling him a robot or saying he has no soul, passion or sensibility is ridicules.
i didnt grow up in spain so flamenco is not part of my upbringing. but still i am able to spot who has "duende" and who has not. its just a thing that comes with age. not so hard when u just listen to a lot of diferent artists and relax.
i think u are rediculous for discussing such an issue, and insisting on being right. i have said several times that Grisha will become a brilliant player LATER, because he is so strong technicaly and passionate about it. but not just yet.
i guess paco de lucia is also wrong for saying he has never heard of anyone playing his songs like him (him being the guy up there playing now ! ) .... dont be bitter brother ... we all have talents, urs just isnt playing guitar i guess
first off, show me where Paco said this about Grisha and i'll be the judge myself of what Paco meant by it.
If he said it, it could have been for a number of reasons not necessarily the one u think.
I never said Grisha is a bad guitarist, i only say that he is young and doesn't have duende yet. it will come later. it sounds mechanically. so he is a good copycat, so what. maybe Paco just wanted to encourage him. u relay think that Paco values the ones who are good at copying him!?
LOL grisha is a copycat? like if there is such a thing in the level of music he plays. His simply inspired to play master pieces by the greats as do most people who love music. Ever heard or Mozart..etc I can tell by your comments you have no sensibility in music CT2507. BTW you can go on grisha's website and read his bio in relation with paco..
Of corse he is a copy cat... thats where he gets tha mechanical playing style from. he is a very good taperecorder. records everthing he hears. not that its a bad skill, its just a sign of immaturity. later he will propably be good. but for now he is still just a kid, and his music reflects it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
no, not exactly. and i wasnt talking to u so dont act so hurt about it.
it was a matter of discussion. i said that even though u mention something Paco may have told u, or said about u, i'd still like to hear it from Paco himself!
Im not saying he didnt say it. just that i dont listen to rumors.
And even if he did say u were "the next Paco" , then i still like to use my own power of judgement and decide how a remark is to be understood.
if he said it, i believe he wanted to encourage u.
I am not hurt at all. You can read something about me in the booklet that accompanies Paco's CD collection. By the way, who said I was "the next Paco"? Wasn't it said about Vicente?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
u certainly are the first Grisha and u make an impact straight off. but the question is, will life mature u in the right way, because that can certainly be felt and heard in your music. your mannerism will also show it. will u become someone that inspires peoples heart and spirit or a proud and vain tour de force!?
no one said u were the next paco.. it was sarcasm.
Look Grisha, this is how i see u. U are an excelent guitarist and a technical monster! and i mean it in the good sense. and there has been comments here where i was defending your skills.
im not out to "bust your balls", but i see music as something that is meant to uplift peoples spirit. and a musicians finest call is to do exactly that to his listeners. and u are still a bit to much of a show-off for being able to do that.
We are very lucky to be able to witness such beauty. There is definitely a new young generation of musicians emerging from all over the world. If you consider Yuja Wang or Yundi Li for piano addicts or,for guitar Marco Tamayo,Christian Saggese and Grisha here,it is clear that there is no bounderies for virtuosity. This is among the most beautiful, clean and precise tremolo i've heard(and tricky as hell).Thanx for sharing..
Grisha is a musicien I just admire.I have never heard this song played with so much emotion and so clean technique(of course,Manolo did also) , Mr. Goryachev is an absolutely overwhelming guitarist. This interpretation of "oracion" is marvellous.
I've been looking for music pieces on youtube only for the past couple of weeks. I've seen other pieces from Grisha which I've loved, but I just cannot stop myself from listening to this. It is a beautiful composition and soulfully played. It just leaves you speechless. God bless Manolo and Grisha.
Wow what a weird tremolo man!!! How many notes you pick between every bass note?? I got to see manolo's version but, yours it awesome!!!
This guy is clearly one of my favourite flamenco guitarist. Besides having an "out-of-this-world" technique, he has a very musical mind, his playing is marvelous.
pamiami pamiami etc. I saw this taught in an Asia conservatory for classical guitarists, never saw it used for flamenco which is usually piami not a bad technique.

U will understand later perhaps.
CT2507 3 years ago
He is great for his age, regardless of the fact that he is not up there with Tomatito. The "soul" you are talking about will come with time, but the most important element that he does possess is the passion to keep on playing and progressing.
flamen493 3 years ago
CT2507 having soul and sensibility for any art form starts from a young age and only grows as you grow as a person. He may never gain the flamenco characteristics that your familiar with as art, because maybe you grew up with the music and are used to seeing it in a particular way. But as far as calling him a robot or saying he has no soul, passion or sensibility is ridicules.
sasan705 3 years ago
i didnt grow up in spain so flamenco is not part of my upbringing. but still i am able to spot who has "duende" and who has not. its just a thing that comes with age. not so hard when u just listen to a lot of diferent artists and relax.
i think u are rediculous for discussing such an issue, and insisting on being right. i have said several times that Grisha will become a brilliant player LATER, because he is so strong technicaly and passionate about it. but not just yet.
CT2507 3 years ago
no dude, Grisha is already a brilliant player...hes the best already....your wrong

nahh... he is a stuck up proud kid who thinks he can fake duende and soul if he tilts back his head and looks like he is having an "emotion" .. lol!
CT2507 3 years ago
OR, that could be just how he plays....a lot of people have weird little thing they do when they play guitar
rredzone 3 years ago
it could be, but very unlikely for a guy like Grisha who is so selfconscious and has so much selfcontrol.
CT2507 3 years ago
very rude thing to say.

truth sometimes is rude and offending.. what can i do!? :))
cheers .. :=)
CT2507 3 years ago
i guess paco de lucia is also wrong for saying he has never heard of anyone playing his songs like him (him being the guy up there playing now ! ) .... dont be bitter brother ... we all have talents, urs just isnt playing guitar i guess
funkyMonk1985 3 years ago
so what.
first off, show me where Paco said this about Grisha and i'll be the judge myself of what Paco meant by it.
CT2507 3 years ago
LOL grisha is a copycat? like if there is such a thing in the level of music he plays. His simply inspired to play master pieces by the greats as do most people who love music. Ever heard or Mozart..etc I can tell by your comments you have no sensibility in music CT2507. BTW you can go on grisha's website and read his bio in relation with paco..
sasan705 3 years ago
Of corse he is a copy cat... thats where he gets tha mechanical playing style from. he is a very good taperecorder. records everthing he hears. not that its a bad skill, its just a sign of immaturity. later he will propably be good. but for now he is still just a kid, and his music reflects it.
CT2507 3 years ago
oh did u say on Grishas own website. now why should i take Grishas word for it..!? id rather read it on Pacos website. Get my meaning?
CT2507 3 years ago
I got the meaning. Among other things you are calling me a liar. Right?

no, not exactly. and i wasnt talking to u so dont act so hurt about it.
it was a matter of discussion. i said that even though u mention something Paco may have told u, or said about u, i'd still like to hear it from Paco himself!
Im not saying he didnt say it. just that i dont listen to rumors.
And even if he did say u were "the next Paco" , then i still like to use my own power of judgement and decide how a remark is to be understood.
if he said it, i believe he wanted to encourage u.
CT2507 3 years ago
I am not hurt at all. You can read something about me in the booklet that accompanies Paco's CD collection. By the way, who said I was "the next Paco"? Wasn't it said about Vicente?
mininocurro 3 years ago
What I really want to be is the first Grisha.

u certainly are the first Grisha and u make an impact straight off. but the question is, will life mature u in the right way, because that can certainly be felt and heard in your music. your mannerism will also show it. will u become someone that inspires peoples heart and spirit or a proud and vain tour de force!?
CT2507 3 years ago
no one said u were the next paco.. it was sarcasm.

God bless Manolo and Grisha.

pamiami pamiami etc. I saw this taught in an Asia conservatory for classical guitarists, never saw it used for flamenco which is usually piami not a bad technique.

pamiami: do you know any other songs written with this technique? Thanks for the reply.
