  • lol, did you do this video naked?

  • People are basically bad by nature

  • @oscarmarin1995 Says who? And with what evidence to support him/her?

Because psychologically speaking, everything points to the contrary.

  • @Sinclairelim Have you lied before? Stolen? It's basically that we do evil by nature. Now not all the time... but we have been before in the past.

    Where does morality come from?

  • @oscarmarin1995

Our nature are our instincts: impulses that take us to sleep, drink, eat, have sex and survive in that order of priority. None of that is evil. Anything beyond that is a social construct, and society is not "our nature".

Furthermore, a healthy mind, with thouse instincts covered, rejects violence, suffering and desructive behaviours as much as a healthy body rejects a fever. What most label "bad" the human brain is wired to reject, unless altered.

  • @oscarmarin1995

And that wire-arrangement that takes us to reject some things wich aren't usefull to us determines morality to a large degree, greatly modified by the society and culture the person lives in.

  • No everyone has done something bad.

  • Well, isn't it rather obvious that you have to believe that the Bible is true in order for any of it's teachings to have valid application. I don't think that you have any basis for thinking that Jesus stated anything to the contrary.Jesus, in fact, states that whoever believes in Him has everlasting life (now), but whoever rejects Him has the wrath of God in their life (also now) Perhaps you should consider your readings with a more open mind & understanding of history. Why be so shallow ?

  • When I was 13 my parents forcibly enrolled me in bible class and I had to spend almost a year going there once a week Wednesday evenings. The class instructor was not an ordained minister, just a member of the congregation who volunteered to instruct the kids. A total creationist retard. I thought him a fool of the highest magnitude. Anyway, after a year he called my parents and said I was a disruptive influence and didn't want me in his class anymore. Yay!!!!

  • Calvary Chapel philadelphia?

  • Funny

  • LOL, you are so naughty. I must try this myself..giggle

  • That was sooo naughty of you to snicker and make faces while everyone else was in earnest prayer! I'm a jaded ass old man in NYC and I laaaughed!

  • Lmfao.... I like how they say "well what if your wrong" like they're dogging a bullet if they do believe. ummm. there a freaking like 100s of religions out there and the people in the bible class is not believing them. Your only disbelieving one more. Also, i live in Philly too. Some crazy ass people here lol.

  • Lol! Funny shit! I was a believer for 20 yrs . Guess what.....I'm happier now! Educate yourself! The gods of the bible are worse than Hitler! Hitlers ovens only tortured people for a few seconds. Yet Christians worship an imaginary god that is torturing millions as I type this just for being what he made! Unbelievable! Religion is a byproduct of evolution. Think about it.... Every semi-intelligent animal is afraid to die. We as humans know we are going to die and religion is our way of escap

  • @desertflinger11 Yep. Very true. Except even Hitler was more merciful lol. Usually people were already dead before being put into the ovens.

  • Speaking to the intelligent design/amount of water thing: the reason the world is so well suited to us has to do with us evolving and adapting to it. We were crafted in relation to the attributes and resources of the environment by natural selection. If there was less water, we would have evolved differently. Well, if you subscribe to evolution theory like I do, that is.

  • I DO NOT believe I don't believe in Jupiter. I believe there are Jupiters enemies.

You can not hide from Jupiter.

  • I DO NOT believe in atheism. I believe there are God's enemies.

You can not hide from God.

  • @willbelieverable God is a master of Hide 'n' seek because he invented it, Amirite?

  • I DO NOT believe in atheism. I believe there are God's enemies.

  • ice cream! :PPP lol

  • Yeah Bill's whole negative approach... I perfer to look at the glass half full, not half empty and how religion/the Bible has a benefit in our lives through it's council.

  • @TammyFlores1 Actually the glass would be both half full and half empty, this is the secular approach.

Religion have it's useful parts, especially for controlling the masses it is awesome. Hey if someone likes to be controlled but feels better about their life, who am I to judge?

However I draw the line when they want to replace reality with religion. If religion actually respected the separation of church and state, I could care less about what people believe.

  • @Neosaigo That's a very narrow, negative view on your part. I am sure you claim to be open minded, but to me... this comment is very closed minded. Religion... is not the council from the Bible.

  • You made a good point re: the Bible's authenticity. I suggest you do some research surrounding how we got the Bible in today's text and then you are better equiped to make an educated choice. I personally have looked into many things before I believed the Bible's authenticity. Without that exercise it is just a book with hard to understand words. You will never find meaning in it. Just my thoughts.

  • disrespectful

  • I just wanna know where your shirt is.

  • lmao I wonder if week 12 the vid is titled:

    "ex atheist teaches bible class"

  • Where the fuck do you live? Rainbows and ice cream trucks, surounded by cats :)

  • @Nexius8 HAhahaah. Yes it's the magical land of Philadelphia.

  • @Thejugglingbum is it really philly? holy....i live in philly.

  • @cjm608 Yeah man the Church is right by Philmont and Bustleton. I'm in the NE

  • @Thejugglingbum haha me too.

  • Cool vid! ...and now I want ice cream :)

  • LOL when I heard the ice cream truck I though it was the ice cream truck here!

  • Oooooh Ice Cream! ( man runs outside naked to claim his ice cream cone. )

  • dude, you are awesome!

  • What that dude says caps up why I will never understand Christians. What kind of demented fuck derives feelings of "peace," "joy," and "love" from the idea that most people deserve to and will suffer eternal torture, regardless of how they live their lives, while meanwhile they (of course) are exempted on the basis not of merit, but of some bizarre theological loophole involving human sacrifice?

I mean, seriously. Are Christians all just psychopaths? Someone sort this out for me.

  • Ice cream!!

  • Juggler, you look so mischievous as you video the closed-eyed, praying group while you silently giggle and make funny faces!

Also, why should they be threatened by an atheist in their presence? They think they have the answers and that you might be convinced to their way of thinking. Also, you said you are respectful in class. They should be honored to have you in their midst. At the very least, they can feel superior. LOL!

  • The Earth is not fine tune to us, we are fine tune to it. Just like the Sun doesn't revolve are us anymore.

  • You just ended it so you could chase after the ice cream truck didn't you =.=

  • People are naturally GOOD VS BAD?

It sometimes depend on which school of thought you belong to. If you are in the conservative side (like the church), you most likely believe that people are naturally bad. If you are a "progressive", most likely you believe that people are naturally good.

  • @victorscarlet To me a progressive should believe a person is neither good nor bad, otherwise we wouldnt need so much help

people can be any number of things and we all have potential to be anything, which is why we choose to help people, even the ones considered bad

Not because they are naturally good, but because they have the potential to be anything

We help and they can be good, we ignore and they can be bad

Though you are right that conservatives are usually black and whiteon issues

  • @waltermh111 A progressive has a certain stand on issues. If one believes that a person is neither good or bad, then one is neutral about the issue.

Since a progressive believes that a person is naturally good, then they must attack issues/problems in the society through structural changes, and not solving it in a personal level (w/c the church believes). if the society has a good system (in government, education, health, etc), it follows that people will do "good," otherwise they become "bad".

  • @victorscarlet It makes no logical sense to believe that a person is naturally good.

In fact, a person is born naturally selfish and has the potential to be anything based on so many variables, such as genetics and environment from family, to friends, geographic location, outside influence such as community, foriegners to the community, and expand into little issues that affect those things.

To say somebody is naturally anything is idealism, nor realism.

Progs dont have to live in dream land.

  • @victorscarlet Of course to your idea that if you tackle all issues, that people will be good.

I just cant be such a dreamy idealist.

I do believe most people will be good, but your sounding too absolut.

You could fix every problem in the world and never have death or dispair and there will still be bad people for various reasons I could also go into, a progressive does not have to live in a fantasy world to want to do the most good to improve the most lives.

  • @Thejugglingbum if you told them from the that you are an atheist would they have forbid you to join bible class?

  • i am sure that all religion is bullshit, just be fair and honest and you will be fine.

    i have spoken.

    peace, lardo.

  • Did they kick you out of week 4?

  • Moreover we have police protection not because all people are bad, but because *some* people are bad and we want to protect all the generally good people from the bad people.

  • Yeah, we know why you cut the video in such a hurry, Ice Cream!!

  • I know why Prof has sent me.

    You're adorable. (Congratulations, you're officially fagbait.;-) )

  • Pascal's wager, yawn! Stupidest argument ever.

  • The finely tuned argument is ridiculous. There are certain conditions that need to be met for life to able able to evolve and survive. Suppose the earth were a lot closer to the sun, could life survive? No, too hot, hence no life on Venus. What if it were a lot further away? Again no, too cold, hence no life on Uranus. Life can survive on Earth because conditions are suitable. There is no fine tuning, Earth just ticks the right boxes.

  • @happyidiottalk Then agian just look at Europa. There is a very high chance that there is life on it and it's just a moon, very far away from the sun. That basically shatters the finely tuned argument.

  • @Shigren Good point, but it wont be on the surface, which is what I was getting at. If there is life on Europa it will be swimming or floating around in the liquid water found deep down under the ice that wholly covers Europa. There is not going to be anything crawling around on the surface. We will only ever find life in environments where life is possible. If anyone wants to prove god, show me life in the sun or a black hole or anywhere else it couldn't possibly exist without divine help.

  • lol The woman laughing was a good catch. It was interesting how he just kept going like nothing was wrong.

  • nothing like scaring people into heaven.

  • Christian events always make me queasy :(

  • Good job, Keep up the good work.

It's funny how they lie to a group of people and have no remorse in doing it.

I guess ignorance is bliss to people who don't want to think.

It is really kind of sad you know. Either way, Keep up the good work, your doing an awesome job.

  • It is hard enough to defend the existence of an abstract, seemingly contradicting good, but when preachers start getting into geology, astronomy and biology it becomes plain ridiculous.

  • Can you add subtitles to those cut scenes to the classes? It's hard to hear!

  • Great job, man. From one atheist bum to another. Thanks also to ProfMTH for the recommendation. Keep up the good work.

  • That's just silly! That man's grandfather wouldn't go to hell for eating meat...he went to hell because a talking snake convinced a woman to feed her husband a magical fruit. What's wrong with him?

    ; )

Yeah, OTHER people's religious beliefs are always so funny to other religious people. Why is it that they don't understand why we think THEIR beliefs are just as silly?

LOVING the series, I hope they don't excommunicate you.

  • *YAWN* - LMAO!

  • Tell him you're there to learn about their christian magic so you can tell the atheist community on youtube. Then we can develop atheist magic to counter theirs.

  • @PluralOfEverything God, that would make Mass so much more interesting, just expelliarmus-ing the pastor whenever he tries to read a verse.

  • @Sh0nin I remember finding mass interesting.

  • @PluralOfEverything You are a strange and disturbed individual, sir. :P

  • @Sh0nin I was, that's for sure. That's christianity for you.

  • I attended a church study about how to prove that God exists, and it was probably the biggest contributor to me becoming an Atheist.

  • lol, they are calling you out. They are going to hold a prayer group just for you.

  • @CraniumOnEmpty Oh, I can see someone on youtube contacting that church to dime you out if you give any indication as to where you are located... if they don't happen to come across it anyway. So just be aware that they will probably find out anyway.

  • kudos dude, great work. I always think if I have nothing better to do I would go to a catholic mass just to watch since I haven't been to one in a long time, but catholic masses are pretty anonymous so I wouldn't have to interact with anyone. I don't think I'd have the balls to go to an intimate setting like a bible study class where I'd have to talk to people

  • Ice Cream!! This Videos are great BTW!

  • The guy (Josh?) at 1:15 is using Pascal's Wager as an argument. Oh dear. That's so tired and flawed. And he's found out you're an atheist? Don't forget that everyone's an atheist with respect to Zeus, and he's an atheist with respect to Islam, etc.

    LOL at the laughing woman.

In my opinion, being a pastor seems to be a big waste of life and energy. Same for bible studies.

Surely they'll know about you posting this on YouTube soon?

  • Are you open about being an atheist there?

  • Yeah they crap on the Catholics because they change their rules and pretend they themselves aren't just cherry-picking the bible and making stuff up.

Not to get all Godwin's Law here but it's like watching the Nazis condemn the KKK for being racist.

I love watching them argue over who the real Christians are but then when the topic turns to something political all of a sudden those hated groups become a part of their united Christian majority. I guess it's fine when they have a common enemy!

  • By the time I watch this video, 2 people disliked this....

I guess some of the member already found out you being an atheist...

  • Surprisingly watchable. I do admire your patience. I think I would groan uncontrollably at the tedium only an hour into the first session, and my cover would be blown. The same would go for any class on astrology, reiki, feng sui, colour therapy etc. How do you do it?

  • hahaha! Awesome! Im really enjoying this!

  • My question is why is there a need for Bible classes? If the bible is the word and teachings of god then surely it should be THE best handbook ever written?

    Here's my version...

Chapter 1: And Gus said "Be nice."

    The End.

  • If water covered the whole earth, then marine animals would have been the only ones to have evolved. If the earth had less water, then animals could of course have evolved in those pockets of water, even if much of the earth was desert. Right now, a good part of the earth is desert (which is growing), tundra, and ice caps (which are shrinking), in fact. If the earth had no water, then yes, perhaps life would not be around. Still, I wouldn't call this fine-tuning.

  • interesting video series. but now i want ice cream...

  • Hey, I got the recommendation from ProfMTH. Just watched all 3 videos in your series and I think youre doing a great job. I look forward to the rest. I thought about going to church a couple times as well, but I dont think I would have the patience. Most Christians know less about the true history of their Bible than they do of basic physical sciences. There is little point debating with someone like that. But I look forward to future eps. By the way, dont drink the kool-aid! heh

  • May Odin have mercy on the souls of christians

  • profmth recommend. good series.

  • I attended some functions in the early 80s and all those functions was just eerie, people crying while praying, ROLC(rolling on the floor CRYING!)...things just went berserk. Well, al these were encouraged in the name of "TOUCH BY GOD".

  • I've done this once. My friend's and my cover were blown on the first day lol

  • Do you think the church leaders have found your youtube channel or does someone at the church know that you are an atheist from previous encounters? Or did they figure it out because you are not drinking the cool aide?

  • @shortna a few people there know I'm an atheist from previous encounters. They don't know I have a YouTube account though but last week someone asked me if I did and I just said no not really and then two days later I'm approaching 1000 subs! lol

  • @Thejugglingbum That's kinda scary considering you didn't tell them (in fact, lied to them about having a youtube account), because that means they stalked you to find out IF those 1k subs are coming from them.

  • How did he find out you were an atheist?

  • for a guy your age im pretty impressed with your ability to not start a mock attack at creazy shit like creationists

  • 1) You have ice cream vans.

    2) It is possible that most of the water on Earth came from the late heavy bombardment of Kuiper Belt objects disturbed by the outward migration of Neptune due to orbit resonances with Jupiter and Saturn - hell if the amount of water was 'fine-tuned' god must have weird way of going about that.

  • @BornWhiteSupremacy Forgive him and turn the other cheek.

  • from profmt. subscribed. want more.

  • This is great - an undercover atheist in bible school. Hahah. Does anyone else in there ask [logical] questions. or do they seem to blindly accept what their told? Hang in there and try to make it to the remaining 8 classes. : )

  • @TeenTwinkTween Nope no one ask any questions really. It may sound cliche but they are just preaching to the choir.

  • @TeenTwinkTween You poor soul. You know that the only unforgiven sin is not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. If one doesn't then they go to hell. You know it's not a pretty place right?

  • @love2liveit I know its all in your imagination.

  • @love2liveit what, you will torture your son or daughter for all eternity if he/she didn't love you back? and that's the worst sin?. Wow time to go to another religion, even Zeus sounds better.

  • @love2liveit So you believe everyone else aside from Christians will burn/be tortured for eternity, you're a sick, disgusting person.

  • Good series, keep it up.

It might help not to geek the camera in class again so you don't get kicked out if caught.

  • @SpookyFan It's okay. I do it secretly. Shhhhhh! They all have their eyes closed and heads down most of the time anyway lol

  • I want a fudgesicle!

  • Good three episodes so far. Time to subscribe so I don't miss the next 9 episodes!

(You can thank ProfMTH for this sub!)

  • I asked at my bible study, "how do you know?!" they respond, " you just do!"

  • Icecream!

  • Aww damn, outed already!

  • @kilorat Fancy seeing kilorat here...

  • Next we're going to discuss Attention Deficit- ICE CREAM! Wooo!

  • cant wait for part 4

  • Can't wait for week 4! I went to a megachurch just like you and I also went to a class. They kicked me out after four weeks.

When you go to these classes, it is clear that none of these folks are actually taking the class for its actual purpose. None of these people are really starting from zero.

  • Uh oh. You spoke your mind. you're done buster.

  • it would of been so funny, if the second you heard the icecream truck, your face lit up, dropped the camera and all we heard was this frantic scrambling for the door xD

you should of done that! xP

  • I went to a sorta megachurch with a born again friend and it was the weirdest thing ever. As a Trekkie, I felt like a Vulcan among humans if that makes sense. :D

But ProfMTH sent me, and now I feel like attending a bible class. The more I learn about religion the more I *don't* believe in it.

  • When you yawned during their prayer, I lol'd.

  • @procrastinator99

Most of them looked like they had nodded off as well.

  • Yes, mankind is inherently evil. Because of this, we can't even form religions without that are morally good in nature.

Watch their jaws hit the floor as their logic is self-defeating. Reassure them that it's ok, they don't ever use logic anyway. Their faith is completely irrational, and it's ok to be irrational. Just don't pretend you are rational.

  • You were the skeptic at a seance. The spirits were becoming angry.

  • Great series! ProfMTH sent me, and I'm glad he did. It's brave to go right into the belly of the beast to get a real perspective.

  • the police are here mainly for the dumbest, most pointless war in history, the war on DRUGS!!

  • "I'm gonna go do week four now" AKA "chase after that ice cream truck! =P Nice series so far

  • is the bibleclas speaker gay? xD

  • if we blasted 1molecule of water into space, would that destroy the equilibrium of our exact amount of water?

  • Pascal's wager? Come ON!

  • Hee hee hee, Hell wheat! Isn't that silly thinking you'll got to hell for eating wheat? Thinking you'll go to hell for eating a forbidden apple however; clearly justified.

  • Teacher, the whole thing is tradition, damn it!

I know, deeply emotional prayer looks very weird. Maybe if we pray harder, God is going to more likely to hear us...

  • Does anyone ask you about using the video camera?

  • How did he find out you were an Atheist? Did you tell him or were his Heathen Senses tingling?

  • @MasterAdam100

I'd imagine that anyone who questions their bullshit, even respectfully, gets called out. You ask a fair, yet difficult, question and you're accused of spoiling the party.

  • uuuh ice cream...

  • Great vids. Once your done with this series, you should start a Bible study with JWs. Hard to get a straight answer from those people.

  • Would be nice with some subtitles for the guy doing the opening sermon. It's hard to hear what he's saying.

  • @smaakjeks

I was thinking the same thing. If it isn't too much trouble I would appreciate subtitles.

  • ooh, the guy you were sitting next to is hot. Anyways, It seems like everyone there already believes in god, so I don't get what they're getting out of it. They're already praying.

  • @wecaan He is actually married to the blonde sitting next to him and I worked with her a few years back. Interesting that we all met up again.

  • This is interesting. I'm going to watch the rest of the series.

I laughed out loud when I heard the Mr. Softee truck music in the background. When that comes blaring down my block, I want to start shooting at the truck. ;-)
