  • sounds pretty shit! Such a useless crap only because you see the instrument and the string moves this is not better then any other program with many MORE AND BETTER FEATURES like Sequel!

  • alguien puede responderme si este bajo es el mas real o existen otros mas reales PORFAVOR!

  • I AM DEAF CHRISTIAN ALL LIFE BUT I REALLLLLLLY WANT THE HEAR UNFAIR IN THE WORLD ALL HEARING LOVE IT LISTEN IN MUSIC. AWE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • how can i download this soft...........?

  • guys try mixcraft

  • This is like virtual bassist?, because I have problems with it, for example, the fact that only supports 1 octave, and I want something like EZ Drummer, paste only the MIDI track and ready, please answer me = (

  • @TheIbanezGrx20 if you know how to write bass notes in software like guitar pro then export the track as midi and import it in your daw...then u can use bass amp plugins etc...i myself searched for virtual bassist...but this is the best(and the cheapest) way i cud find to record bass without bass guitar

  • people stop insulting each-other. This is a good video btw

  • Look at that dudes ear ahahaha

  • haha i typed in freeware vsts and this is one of the suggestions, wauw ahah

  • how do i open this guitar?

  • @NuChange2 probably by loading it in any DAW software bro, like cubase or fruityloops

  • @djsnw ok gotcha thanks

  • @NuChange2 no problem man, glad to help, did you found thisone free on the net ? in case u did can u pm me where? thanks

  • heyyy peopel can someone find a good eletric guitar vst for fl studio plzz

  • crazy

  • i see no fun in have a pc play bass or guitar for you just a wast of money that like having a pc fuck your lady there no fun in it it like rely play guitar

  • @hto1971 What if you don't play bass guitar? Then every time you need a bass track lain down you will have to pay someone to come into the studio and record for you. If this happens several times then you have spent far more money paying musicians to come in and record for you than you will have spent purchasing this plug-in.

  • @ShadeKangaroo Exactly. Using all real instruments is ideal but for most, not possible. Sounding "real" and sounding great are not the same thing. If you can use this, or any other vst plugin and make great music with it, I doubt most people will care that it "doesn't sound realistic".

  • @ShadeKangaroo if thats the ony why thay can fine butt just for me i could not stand it is all

  • @hto1971 Yeah, I understand totally where you're coming from man. It's just from a time=money perspective, or from someone who is not too serious about having absolutely realistic instruments, this would work great.

  • Don't wanna be a dick to CakeWalk but... You guys would all probably be better off with 4Front Bass Vst (it's free)- it's not amazingly convincing either but if you EQ it right, put reverb on, and put it behind a drum beat it honestly sounds good.

  • or alternatively, use a real bass guitar.

  • Thumbs up if you think this is gay

  • The ear.. its ALLLIIIVVVEEE!!!

  • this bass just sucks, even if u can control so much the sound still doesnt get better :D

  • Can some one tell me if you can create your own patterns?

  • need to install?

  • sounds ugly

  • i think the sounds of this are cool but it seems can't play the technicques like slide, bend... and can't drop tunning or i don't know how to do that. can it?

  • HELP ME I didnt get the bass or guitar (X-Gear) in my Music Creator 5 CD. It says that there missing, can you help me?

  • hey friend its agreat sofware but igot little bit problem can you help me out lease.. icant fine out cakewalk on my cubase?

  • I am unable to drag the sequencer pattern directly into X1. How do I have to have the SONAR window setup to do that? Hmmm....

  • i love your left ear

  • si me puede entender en español como le podria hacer para k se use con el teclado

  • Hey dude.....HEY DUDE.....Hey duDE.....HEY HEY HEY.....

    dis bass soundz fine

    N I ain't lyin

    N if U don't like it

    U can quit yo cryin'

  • when using this bass in a host prg(ableton) it is a piece 'o' shite. I spent four hours reprogramming the bassline in a grid to kick some serious ass, then I wanted to export to add to my project in cubase. Their sample loops are locked into their individual tempos and glitch up the renndering process like a bastard. I tried many things to fix it but the only thing that worked was to delete the track and uninstall this crappy software. if you are a serious musician hire a bass player. Peace out

  • can i use this in cubase?

  • @humbleleon991 I installed it but it didn't add any vst's to cubase

  • Spectrasonics Trilian is better.. this actually sucks

  • Beautiful GUI but the sound it's too poor, dull and unrealistic to my ears...I prefer my refill reason electric bass...really a GREAT solution ;-)

  • i have music creator 5 softwear for windows 98 its ok for beginners who just starting 2 get in 2 music for more info email me at shawnpimp84@yahoo.com

  • what the hell is wrong with his ear!

  • yeah, i'm not too jumping on this either. the sound quality is nothing to write home about.

  • how can download the software

  • Mmmm nice software, but I think it doesn´t sound good enough... That bass sounds so... mmm fake?? Just buy a cheap electric bass, record your riffs and what you have to do is a good EQ to make it sound "fine". It'll sound better than this software xD

  • dude i tried this and it sucks!! i cant play blink 182 or plus 44 with this shit!!

  • @sok213 Why th fuck would anyone use sftware to play Blink182... ON BASS??

  • @IttasteLikeshit yes..they have a bass in the band.

  • @sok213 lol I know '-' , but you don't need a software, is too easy play it on the bass, unless you suck .-.

  • @IttasteLikeshit i dont have a bass guitar thats why im looking at softwares..if i had a bass guitar whats the point of downloading a software? your an idiot.

  • @sok213 Buy a fucking bass, you lazy motherfucker

  • @IttasteLikeshit it's pretty expensive, so i tried looking for softwares that could imitate the bass sounds and it would cost less much.

  • @sok213 To me you still a lazy motherfucker '-'

  • @IttasteLikeshit Your mom doesn't mind when I'm lazy, she prefers to ride on my dick.

  • @sok213 Poor virgin nerds and they're nasty dreams...

  • @IttasteLikeshit your mom isnt really dream material.

  • is there anyway this can be loaded into fl studio?

  • Thanks for this. It was good info

  • its posible get slaping sounds?

  • Comment removed

  • don't work fine in Cubase5

  • His ear looks big

  • This is would be good if run through an amp simulator in the fx chain, would certainly pass in a slammed rock mix.

  • just learn to play real bass! If you can't do the fast stuff, speed it up. It's only 4 string :) lol

  • I mean in the mix this might sound ok, but soloed it sounds like a bass patch of a cheap 80's Casio keyboard and much worse than a bass patch on a current Casio keyboard.

  • i love sonar 8.5 and i just worh with it on pc, but this shown stuff, in my poor opinion, unpassionately and we a lot of respect is a complete toy.

  • say i was recording a song i like such as crazy train on this program, could i import the drums to the song or can you only get the preloaded ones and how would you go about getting the drums or other intruments on there like where would you find the drums would u have to download it or what?

  • Wow, this sounds like sh*t. Not even close!

  • not bad, but it doesn't sound like a pro level bass

  • can u record what you're playing on that bass and save it as mp3 or wav?

  • zu viel gequatsche,Schlecht!

  • LOL this is AWFUL!!! Just get Trilian. Seriously who are you kidding if you use this?

  • @radicalgarbage02 man all of there plugs that i have heard SUCK!!!! LMAO. If anyone uses this they need to give up bc you will never make it in the industry with cheap sounds like this! aha hahaha

  • I jus purchased your program yesterday and I'm completely lost. I thought it would be an upgrade from my mixcraft program. Could you help me

  • why is the wheel pitchbend not working on my studio instruments, please help mer resolve this bug

  • please guy you could send me the site make me download it? very good!

  • @gleuber94 Studio Instruments is available as a download and boxed copy on Cakewalk's website.

  • @CakewalkSoftware

I bought a boxed copy at Guitar Center. Is it on my copy?

  • @gleuber94 try Bornemark Broomstick Bass VSTi

  • How can i use the slide with Stu-Ins Bass??

    Thanks!

  • what if i want to creat my own bass partern??

    can i do that?

and how can i do it??

do i have to use the keyboard??

    or buy a bass??

  • Get a MIDI sequencer. Then create a MIDI track in your DAW and select studio instruments as the output for your MIDI track. Easy.

  • @produccionesmiranejo maybe im not the cakewalk guy but u have to make it a midi, so u cant use a bass, u either click around on sonar and arrange notes, ore use keyboard

  • @girotube - As a producer, surely you recognise this product isn't targeted for you? It's for buyers of Music Creator to get a small 'group' gigging in their home which they can play along to on their keyboard. Or to add drums without being able to play them. Or to grab themselves a bass accompanyment in a matter of minutes on the weekend when they get a rare chance to play with their music.

Anyone wanting professional sounds is going to pay professional dollars for it, no?

  • Again! you're the man with such mature reply..

I'm just a bit annoyed by the samples on these VSTi. I don't even use Sonar. Why do I bother, eh? hehe

    cheers.

  • @ShiftyGeezerUK so why try to sell it as a great sounding tool? It is cheap now but it was not always this cheap only a few months ago the guy in the vid was selling it a a great plugin.

  • Well, he'll sell it as a great sounding tool because you always sell your wares as great! No-one'll advertise their product as, "it's not all that great, but hey, at least it's cheap!" even if that's the truth. If the price dropped, that's because they aimed too high to start with and realised the value of the product wasn't competitive, so dropped the price to reposition it as an entry-level package. It's old was probably poor, but now it's a (maybe?) good product for entry-level musicians.

  • Thank you for illustrating and missing my point at the same time. Go back and read my post again and again until you finally understand what it really says. Your reply demonstrates that clearly you misunderstood.

  • is it possible to create my own loop with this program? is there any guide out there?

  • You can load your own beats into Studio Instruments or choose one of our pre-loaded patterns to add to your project. You can edit those patterns in your DAW of choice (ie if you're using a Cakewalk product - use Piano Roll View).

  • DOn't want to insult this company but The sound is terrible for such a nice GUI VSTi

BUT still its a nice tool to arrange music but I would not use this on an actual Production. String instruments are too hard to emulate. TRILLIAN is very good but too $ and heavy on the Computer.

The samples are not working well on that groove. There's no release samples and it sounds like a machinegun t, t,t,t ,t same sample.

Going to check your virtual drummer now.

    All the best.

  • Studio Instruments is an entry-level product that includes pre-loaded sounds and patterns for electric piano, bass guitar, strings and drums. It can be used as a standalone product or with your choice of production software

  • I know what it is Robin!! and my first post still stands... You should delete all my posts if its too embarracing for cakewalk.

  • If it sounds robotic, it's your technique, not Cakewalk's software. I've asked pro musicians and studio engineers to guess which instruments are real and which are software in hundreds of finished compositions, and they guess correctly about ten percent of the time, especially when it comes to software basses and guitars. The only session players I EVER have to bring in for clients are brass players and backing vocalists. Everything else can be made to sound so realistic that it fools everyone.

  • absolutly right, just a matter of time and patients

  • Can this be put into Sonar 8 Studio Edition and if so...how I am fairly new at this.

  • Yes, Studio Instruments can be used in your DAW of choice. In SONAR, on the main menu go to INSERT > SOFTSYNTHS . STUDIO INSTRUMENTS > SI Bass.

  • hello robin good videos but I wonder as I get everything it touches to this low on the track record it does not know if I will explain it but I want him low on the track was recorded not by just beginning to manage this great program. ..please answer my question

  • can we play the notes using a midi keyboard

  • Yes, you can map Studio Instruments to your MIDI Keyboard as well as use it inside your DAW of choice

  • Bass and Guitar are both very difficult to replicate in a VST. I haven't heard anything that can fool you unlike drums and piano.

  • I agree, I just tried out the new Spectrasonics Trilian bass plugin and it still can't replicate something simple like a straight 8ths pumping bass line without sounding robotic.

  • you can get all this is garage band.

  • Is there a sub bass sample in this pack? Like the sub bass they use in today's hip hop?

  • Just one question, can I use this in FL studio, cause if it's a VST it must be possible, right?

  • Yes, you can.

  • i have a question about using studio instruments in music creator 4. i am trying to use it through the synth rack but nothing is getting exported.

    please help

  • is there a normal electric guitar in this software?

  • nope, just bass

  • Cakewalk has another software title better suited for Guitar players - it's called Guitar Tracks Pro - check it out on our website

  • So can you avoid using any of the preloaded tunes and just make up your own by touching the strings?

  • its free

    use torrents

  • Studio instruments (and other stuff, such as garageband, fruity loops, etc.) are great when it comes to synth riffs or beats for hip hop and electronica. but personally, real instruments will always sound and feel better. the more you can work with actual things you can touch and alter yourself (rather than a computer), the better sound you get.

  • Hi Robin,

    You have a cool job!

  • I don't think this bass sounds convincing at all.

  • me neither its really artificial

  • @78fenderPbass Then buy a bass! This is one of the most simple bass programs in the market today (trillian and trilogy are too complex out of the box) so Id say its good enough for home recording needs (EQ the tone here and there and you will be on your way to get a good tone)

  • @78fenderpbass hey sup man u seem to know about midi bass programs do u knoe of any that ur able to use the mondule wheel as a treble booster man cuz i been searching and i cant seem to track one down

  • @78fenderPbass I agree. It reminds me of the cheesy synth basslines they would always play during intense scenes in 80's action movies. Die Hard anyone?

  • Ugly man.

  • I love the Studio Instruments=DDDD

  • where do i go to find this

  • Where can i downlaod this patterns ? i dont see them on my cd..

  • is this program actually useful for anything? it's like for playing on the computer for kids, which don't know what this instrument is for real. Like, how the fuck to use this program for real recording or studio work?

  • You don't have to use the little riffs they give. You sinply record your original bass into your workstation(this is a plug -in) then add other instruments be they real or virtual.

  • It can be used for electronic musicians who do not want to record an actual bass, rather still have the same instrument but using midi. This allows for transposition and exporting for use in other programs.

It probably wouldnt be used in a studio.

  • ithe drums and strings are good...but i think its better to go out and buy a 50 dollar bass and elec piano than to use the programs for those

  • easy to go out and buy 50dollar bass...but to actually learn how to play it....that's another story!...probably 50bucks down the drain for most!

  • it might sound better with a little TLC (EQ/Compressor/Limiter/)

  • I like the studio instruments strings, the bass one sounds quite weak.

  • Comment removed

  • do this work for FL Studio 8?

  • yes

  • Yes. I use it myself. Works like any other vst plug in. If you need some help pm me.

  • hI. i DO NEED HELP TO PLUG IN INTO MY CUBASE 5, i DO HAVE THE STUDIO INSTRUMENTS PACKAGE FROM CAKEWALK

  • sounds weak

  • Anyone who knows if I can record with instruments on this, or is it all just virtual instruments?

  • can you make your own patterns?

  • its not the best sound i heard!

  • Or - you could buy a bass guitar.

  • lol it probaby cheaper aswell! and it will have more frets

  • That is exactly what the world needs. More bass players. Virtual bass players.

  • hahaha...that was funny

  • CAssieOz lol =))))))))))

  • HEY! You're a lucky man... if you were to his right, he would have surely heard that

    then there'd be trouble.

    :P

  • Trilogy > this

  • whats the website and can u just download this

  • Chapman Stick, any plans on making a Stick bass VST?

  • Oh man, I wish somebody would make a decent chapman stick VST.

  • whats the website to download

  • i think its Cakewalk Studio Intsruments

  • Is it free?

  • This sounds like 80's bass synth

  • Why would anyone want to use any of their patterns?

  • Is it just me or are the notes on the bass inaudible? Like, not much more than thumps?

  • yeah, chances are you have no bass

  • cant wait to see the first midi bass controller...;)

  • trilogy has the best bass

  • I didn't like the idea of this until I heard the tone 0_0

I would probably record a real bass for any kind of Rock music, but stuff that I don't mind being a little more virtual, this would be really good.

  • Hey Robin, I am a newb to Sonar Prod Edition. Can't do anything yet. What I want to do is make some Jam Tracks to play along with minus the Lead Guitar. How do I do this? I haven't seen any tuts on this and there is nothing in the user guide so hows it done?

  • good but not have five string bass

  • I'm gunna have to get you to go ahead and watch a great movie called "Office Space"

Why? Just to help you say "Go Ahead" less...

You're doing an awesome job by the way !! :-)

  • yeah i think its the best bass

  • best sounding bass

  • Edirol Super Quartet has some 11 pretty awesome bass aswell :) I just figured that out

  • Super Quartet's Basses suck!

    Man, they're awful...

i'd rather stay with si bass...

  • nah i think they sound just fine for when you need em in the background.

Btw, the best basses I assume are Scarbee's J-slap/fingered or Red Bass as a new edition, is about 2gb and has about any noise you can make with an ebass.

  • Can the display be customised? As a bass player I'd find the fret board annoying, as it's audenience perspective not player perspective. And yes a bass would find this usefull, I can't always get the amps out ;)

  • hey con que programa puedo editar un video como este tutorial?

  • I have a Line 6 POD X3 live module. Is this compatible with sonar 7 producers edition and can I use this as an interface?

  • (bass)guitars should never be done virtually like this

  • @cakewalk software - how do i use it with fl studio? its not a vst right ita a program? how do i get it to work and controlled by fl studio? thanks!!!

  • I bought this one.Hi There Do You Guys Mind to explain how to control this as a midi instrument it doesn't say in the help menu enough.

Possibly if i can do it with garage band.

  • can i record my own music with studio instruments? what files does it support? or i have to find another software to convert them to play for a regular cd player?

  • Is this its own program or like a VST??

Can I use this using FL STUDIO?

Or do I need to use Cakewalk?

    Because I own both.

  • This is its own program which can be used by itself.

It's also a VST and AU.

It can be used with Cakewalk hosts like SONAR or Music Creator, and also with other programs like FL Studio, Garage Band, Live, or ACID

  • When did Roland buy out Cakewalk? I'll bet future versions of Cakewalk will be bad ass! Steinberg and Digidesign better watch their asses! lol...j/k nothing beats protools for audio.

  • Hey thank you. Just to be clear, Roland didn't buy us out. They did make a majority investment in Cakewalk, but we're still operating in an independent fashion.
