Eshan is 4 yrs old now and does biking, hiking, running, jumping from stairs and much more with his prosthetic. His amputation happened when he was 18 months old. Doctor said that it is ideal to have it done between 12-18 months of age because children lose the memory of operation very quickly during this period.
Eshan was born with congenital fibular hemimelia. His right leg was considerably smaller and missing fibula and 2 toes along with significant deformity in the ankle. He underwent amputation below knee on right leg to allow him to wear a prosthetic.

Adjustments to prosthetic have to be made every month by the specialist. Each prosthetic lasts for no more than a year, sometimes less.
